  1. Wow. Got through immediately, was held at the stripe page for a bit, but everything went through successfully. I wasn't holding my breath as the general sale last year was a mess.

Second time at the farm after 22 and first time working it. I'm excited to get a new perspective of the festival! Wondering if this will be the only batch of slots though?

When I purchased my tickets for 2020, in October of 2019, I was able to book my coach with National Express shortly after that. Does anyone have a clue when those routes will be available to book on their website? Cheers! John

Same boat here. Got my coach tickets immediately after booking in 2019, and filled out the submission request form in March to have my tickets saved for 2021. I haven't heard a peep from NE since then.

I picked an early coach (1AM)  so i'd have a shorter line at the gate and dibs on camping spots. I was worried the coach tickets would be offered to existing customers first if I took a refund, leaving me with the dregs.

I assume they aren't going ahead until Eavis releases an official statement that the festival is happening. This may be internal report though, so I'll let you know if I hear/see anything from NE.

Hopefully today’s decision brings some relief to the international attendees who faced the horrible prospect of having a ticket but not able to travel. One of the great pleasures of the festival is seeing folk from all over the world, pitching your tent and finding where in the world your neighbours come from.   A small plus in this shit storm.

Whilst it is a disappointment, I'm very grateful that we were informed as early as January. It was already frustrating holding out on a flight ticket, despite prices being at rock bottom, yet knowing it was unlikely if I'd even be able to travel. I also think that even in the event of the festival taking place this year, it wouldn't have felt right in the midst of the current global situation.

I have never been to Glastonbury, and have only experienced its magic in the videos online, and the people who sing its praises on here. I have hope that once this pandemic is sufficiently tackled, I'll be able to finally get to Worthy Farm, and share a cider with you all, rain or shine.

Georgia also has about 8000 military votes to come in. They’ll all be red blooded gun toting Republicans. Biden needs to be 10k in front to cover that.

Sorry, but you are making way too many generlizations about the US military vote. Many people join the armed forces to support their family, or because their education system failed them, and they have few options. Many enlisted troops from Georgia are people of colour. Many of them are not trigger happy Trump supporters. Many veterans I know are appalled by Trump's actions and want him gone.

I’m currently 65/35 against it happening, but we have to remember how the human mind works.

Were incapable of imagining how we’ll feel in the future, if we do the weekly shop hungry we’ll buy food based on how we feel at the time, not what we’ll actually want to eat on the following Wednesday. Cases are rising and we’re heading into a bleak winter with things unlikely to get better for about 6 months, so that will naturally affect our thinking about the likelihood of it going ahead.

The summer was fine, we had a number of mass outdoor events that created no issue, what is happening now was predicted as the weather changes and it’s exactly what happens with flu every year when the seasons change, but our human brains can only think of what’s happening now as we enter winter.

The reality is we simply don’t know where we’ll be in six months time, that’s a long time for the virus to still be circulating, so in the absence of a full lockdown, we don’t know how many people will have antibodies by March/April next year and we don’t know how the virus will continue to spread once a certain amount of people have them. There could conceivably be a point short of 50/60% where the virus struggles to spread and we may hit that after this next wave.

Of course there is the issue of how long immunity lasts, but to me that’s largely irrelevant. Putting a a vaccine to one side for a moment, having already had Covid is very likely to provide some sort of benefit second time around as far as how serious it is. And if it doesn’t, then ultimately we’re not going to persist with social distancing indefinitely, as there would be absolutely no point, we’d be trying to prevent the unpreventable at the expense of trashing our economy and our lives as we know them.

When it comes to a vaccine we really have to take everything with a pinch of salt, other than the realities of how long it would actually take to roll out. The default position from anyone involved with a vaccine, the government included, will always be the most pessimistic negative one.

Yes Glastonbury needs to plan and build, but anyone linked to Glastonbury apart from the absolute mega artists NEED it to happen. It could easily get to March/April with things still up in the air and the will for it to go ahead from all involved will still be there. We might lose some big acts but who gives a shit about that.

The short version of what I’ve rambled on about is that although things seem bleak now, we literally have no clue until next spring.

It kinda goes without saying that the vast majority of people on this forum would like Glasto to go ahead, but I think that GFL are just as unsure about the likelihood of it happening as we are at the moment.

We don't know for sure when a vaccine will be rolled out, nor do we know the efficacy of that vaccine. We also don't know how the goverment will respond to this news, and the restrictions they will place on large outdoor gatherings throughout the year.

At this point in time, it really is all up in the air.

People coming in would still be subject to the 14 day quarantine period though. They'd need an address to stay at for the 2 weeks they're there and risk a £10000 fine if they get caught breaking it.

Is the risk of a 10k fine worth it to attend Glastonbury?

Uhhh.... Absolutely not! (eyes darting shiftily from side to side)

  7. I think the festival's chances of going ahead hinge on a vaccine being available for the most vulnerable before the April resale. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about that.

We should be expecting a headliner or legends slot announcement any day now, which would put me more at ease also.

  8. Biffy Clyro's new album is fantastic. The highlight for me is The Champ; a wonderful criticism of the forces that are preventing real progressive change throughout the globe. Pyramid headliner? maybe. Other Stage headliner? a shoo-in.

You might have more luck asking in that thread :) a few people there have sorted frames / are looking for frames :)

Thanks for the tip! After reading through the thread I see many efesters did a little modding of their posters for the frame. Im going with this frame, which closely resembles the size of the color poster in inches, and will let you all know how it looks :).

  10. Hi all,

I've had my 'hope shines brightest' colour poster for a little while now, but I can't find a frame for it! I live in the US, so most frames are only available in inches, but I really don't want to have to pay a premium for it to be custom framed.

If anyone knows how I can get ahold of the right sized frame, I would be eternally grateful :).

  11. Proper disapointed I won't get to see Another Sky this year 😭. They're a cracking band with heaps of musical talent and poignant lyrics that I'm sure the Eavii would take notice of. I managed to catch up with them after a small gig they did shortly after this tiny desk; all super lovely and really keen to play Glasto, no confirmations of course. Hopefully they'll be down at Worthy Farm next year...

Considering a lot of airlines and ferry companies are waiving fees for changing flights I think it would be great if they offered people with tickets for 2020 to roll them over we could just then change our flights to 2021 with minimal loss of money.

Would be a kick in the teeth to loose your ticket and then try and fail in October and then have to cancel your ferry or plane ticket that you changed to Glastonbury 2021

    THIS

  13. Okay, let's get to the facts. There is a rumor that mass gatherings in the UK could be cancelled 'as early as next weekend' (https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-51882897). This rumor, if it is true, doesn't denote the timeframe of these cancellations, and so it is entirely possible that Glastonbury could fall outside of these restrictions. Whilst we can speculate about the state of the festival, neither I, nor Emily, or anyone on this forum truly know what the outcome will be. Rather than projecting our worst fears onto the forum, I think we should use the facts in order to remain positive about the bash.

We have accidentally bought a pre erected tent on the worthy view site- rather than the sticklinch site where the rest of our group is. Does anyone know if there is a way of doing a swap or finding other buys that want to swap from stick lunch to worthy view? Any advice would be great as this is really upsetting, which sounds spoilt but the 6 couple were all trying to stay together for the experience! Very gutted!

It may be as simple as contacting Seetickets and explaining your purchase went Pete Tong. Someone may have done the exact same thing as you and booked Sticklinch by accident, so See may just do the old switcheroo for you. It might not work, but it's definitely worth a try.

I would definitely think so.. If you are paying that amount for a tent you will definitely have a shower...... Why people always want toilets and showers etc at festivals I don't know but that's a new thing that has happened over the years.. Hey each to their own but like phone charging I'd not queue longer than 15 minutes for anything like that at a festival hence I don't do it.. Wet wipes do for me and go with the flow

Also I don't think its a matter of having a go at people who pre erect camping it's more about how it has and is changing the festival.. And as someone who's been a fair few times it really has changed the festival.. But hey ho.

I have to say that whilst I think that the option of alternative accommodation benefits the local community and makes sense from a planning and environmental perspective, it won't put me off camping in the thick of it, getting to know the neighbors and having a good time.

People like hot showers, people like a decent place to take a shit, and bottom feeders have tried to fill in the gaps that Glastonbury left open.

I think the festival has already changed. 'Stinklinch' is just a way to keep the money in the local community.

  16. I think it's more of a question of wether they can still afford him. Capaldi, Eilish and Lizzo were only in the midst of becoming massive when they were booked for 2019, and will all command a much higher fee for 2020. If he does return, I see him being a pyramid sub or a headliner for the other.

  17. One benefit of the new campsite is that it should help to ease congestion a little on the Wednesday and Thursday. From a planning and environmental  perspective, this idea makes sense.

As for it negatively changing the demographic? I think it's just different strokes for different folks.
