  1. 4 tickets for L’Entouloop at Village Underground on Monday 7th October. Message me if interested. Not sure if there is an official resale option so would rather they go to a good home than go to waste.
  2. Used them for RAH tickets. Ticket office at RAH confirmed the (expensive) tickets we’d supposedly bought hadn’t even gone on sale yet and entry would only be permitted with photo id matching the lead booker. Viagogo were making it difficult to get a refund so we just asked the credit card company if they could step in, which they did and thankfully got our money back.
  3. £350 on Ticketmaster and £150 on See Tickets. Ticketmaster are the ones taking the piss.
  4. Would love Fab Freddy’s Drop on West Holts. I’d put them down as potential headliners but they are subbing for The Saw Doctors at Beautiful Days which makes me wonder if they’d have to accept a slot lower down the lineup.
  5. Saw someone being escorted from Silver Hayes by security for selling NOS. Loudly protesting that “everyone was doing it”. Had a group of 15 or so doing it near us before for The Streets. Looked like a bunch of 30 somethings having a children’s party. The risk vs reward of bringing in a large can doesn’t seem worth it for such a sh*t drug. Not like you can just stick it in your underwear on the way in.
  6. Also not helped by the fact that social interactions were restricted during Covid. A lot of people have missed out on opportunities to experience and learn about how positive atmosphere’s are created. Glastonbury was one of the best places on earth to discover what life can be like when people make the effort to get along and help each other out. It’s still great but could probably do with a shot in the arm and a couple more years to fully recover. Please, seasoned Glastonbury goers, now is not the time to stop. The festival needs you to keep coming and to pass on everything it’s taught you about how to make it such a special place.
  7. There are sometimes people spotting at the road crossings and along the railway track. Seen quite a few people get caught without bands while crossing the road between Silver Hayes and Woodies in previous years. I’m sure there have been wristband checks going into the SEC in some years but haven’t noticed it recently.
  8. Would be interested to know if anyones ever been successful with a Glastonbury related claim through normal travel insurance.
  9. For all the people who question how the same people get tickets most years, then ask “can you try for me?” because “is it today?, I didn’t realise, I can’t get online because I have to [insert unimportant task] today.” 👆This post is step 1. Good luck Syuile! I hope your planning pays off and you get a ticket for 2025.
  10. The Story Of The Streets audiobook, written and narrated by Mike Skinner, is on Spotify. Half way through and enjoying it, although I think I’d have preferred reading the book.
  11. Yes, certainly true at the bar just north of the Glade. They served cans and asked if you wanted it poured into a cup.
  12. Same! It’s like the tortoise and the hair. Only the tortoise is on roller skates and the hare is on ket.
  13. I agree with you on the goals. It’s about the most effective way to achieve them. There were around 1,400 police deployed to the site in 2019. I probably saw 3 or 4 over the entire festival and felt very safe. Excellent policing of the event, in my opinion. Also reflected in very low crime figures.
  14. Policing for safety is absolutely necessary. I’m just not sure that groups of uniformed police are the most appropriate and effective way to do it.
  15. Sterile was probably not the best choice of words. I think the main stage type of experience seems to be expanding across the site at the expense of the alternative areas. The alternative areas that remain feel like they’re being watered down a bit more every year.
