  1. Bill Ryder-Jones is supporting Beth Gibbons on her tour. Would love him to be added.
  2. Exactly the same for me, just the opposite way with saturday being ridiculously stacked and thursday being a little thin for my taste.^^ Luckily Ciutat makes things a little easier for me with American Football, Crumb and Royel Otis playing on sunday aswell.
  3. American Football announced four UK-dates as special LP1 anniversary shows (25 years). I guess we can expect the same for Primavera, at least for one of both sets, although it isn't billed as that.
  4. Nothing too exciting in Ciutat for me. But American Football, Crumb, Royel Otis and Dorian Electra on sunday makes my saturday a lot easier. Was very worried about clashes, I think most people here think thursday is the strongest day, but for me personally saturday is really stacked with Charli, Mitski, FKA twigs, Amaarae, 070 Shake, Romy, Slow Pulp and the the ones mentioned above.
  5. While I totally understand, that you would have been happy to see them on the line-up, three of them played last year and for B&S it would have been the fifth time at the festival, so I do kinda get if they didn't choose to book them to keep things fresh. Massive Attack is obviously a big miss, but yeah, things like that happen every time.
  6. Because of the creepy power dynamics that he used for his benefit obviously. For example as a professor you are usually not allowed to have consensual relationships with students, even if you don't grade them. And especially not hitting them up via instagram, inviting them over and promising them things, that have something to do with your and their position, so completely misusing your power over them.
  7. I mean, I stated in the post you are quoting what relevant output The Strokes had after Room on Fire, at least with The New Abnormal, the album they were booked for initially in 2020, and in the end 2022 because of Covid. And in my opinion very rightfully so, they gained lots of younger fans in recent years too. And I agree their live-sets are a bit hit or miss, but I think in general people here on the forum were rather positive about their performance. And while I really used to love Arcade Fire and their live-perfomances are great, no one around me cares about them anymore. Everything Now and We aren’t bad albums, but they weren't received very positive or to any sort of acclaim either. So no reason for a festival like Primavera to book them, aside all the other stuff that's going on. And especially no reason to go on talking about them for pages. So on another note, I'm a little surprised they didn't go for Doja Cat, since she's around and was on the poster for 2020, if I recall correctly. But maybe sth didn't work out or they thought with Lana and SZA there are enough big pop-ish acts in the top line. Also I reeeally hope they add Chastity Belt, Beach Fossils and Sampha to the line-up or for Ciutat-gigs, especially CB, since they are at BKS and they are free on the monday and tuesday I think, otherwise I'm very happy with the line-up.
  8. I don't know what criteria you use for relevance, but I think people tend to oversee the acclaim and popularity The New Abnormal received, including Grammy win etc. The Adults are Talking alone has much more streams than all songs of WE combined and more than twice as many as any Arcade Fire song ever released. A lot of my friends, who are in their 20's started to listen to The Strokes around that time, because of that song. Obviously streams aren't everything, but I would also argue the critical reception of The New Abnormal was better than Everything Now and We, so I don't know on what your statement is based.
  9. Yeah, I think the BKS-anouncement makes Primavera look stronger. Only act I really would have wanted/I'm hoping to see in the Ciutat-program is Chastity Belt.
  10. In my friend group the line-up goes down very well. They are all around 20, listen to a lot of (Indie)/(Hyper)-Pop and R&B. Lana, SZA, Amaarae, Mitski, FKA twigs, Ethel Cain, Peggy Gou, Omar Apollo, 070 Shake, Arca, Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Kim Petras, Hannah Diamond, Dorian Electra. There is just so much. Reading these names makes me realize that the fact that a lot of my friends are queer might also play a role haha. They did an amazing job in diverse representation again.
  11. Why is no one talking about Duster tho. Such an amazing booking, it's their first european date ever I think and they formed in 1997. Didn't release anything or played gigs in between 2000 and 2019 tho. They got some new appreciation lately and kind of reformed 4 years ago, only in the US tho until now. They do have quite some streams on Spotify, Inside Out has 174 mio, which is crazy for a slowcore-indie-rock song from the 90's. I'm so excited to see them.
  12. She said she always wanted to play festivals. But yeah, I would expect her at Glastonbury or Coachella if she's ever doing a festival. Also if I understand it correctly the ticket price for the Fan-Sale is 265, for the 2nd release 295 and for a not announced third release 325. If Taylor will be announced, there would be no third release needed. They could just put it at 325 with the general sale. Also if anything, this might be a sign to me, that they are not overly confident with the line-up. Last year it was 325 as soon as the line-up dropped, right?
  13. Oh boy, I'm getting my self way too much into this. It's the only weekend where Taylor is free on both friday and saturday in her whole tour. Madrid is besides Cardiff the only city where she is playing only one night, which seems strange considering it's the only date in spain. (6 in France, 7 in Germany, 3 in Austria/Netherlands/Poland/Sweden, even 2 in Portugal). Also Barcelona is in between Madrid and Lyon, her next stop on sunday. And if she would do a festival I would think she'd love to have some of her collaborators there too, which would be Aaron Dessner by the National and Jack Antonoff by Bleachers (who cancelled the last two editions of Primavera and are about to tour their new album, so very likely to be there). I still don't believe it tho. Or do I?
  14. I mean, it won't happen but "You're not ready for this" just screams Taylor Swift to me haha and I was thinking like two hours ago if they would ever book her, they would do something like a Fan-Sale for people that went to one of the last editions to ensure the classic-Primavera crowd is getting a ticket and now this is happening lol.
  15. Some acts I'm somehow confident that they will be on the line-up: Sampha, Beach Fossils, Chastity Belt, Slayyyter, maybe Kevin Abstract
  16. Chastity Belt playing London on 6/14. They announced a new album and a US-tour ending 5/12 aswell, so they are nailed on in my opinion.
  17. Can see a lot of those at Primavera. Slayyyter and James Blake would be pretty cool, do we think he is ruled out because of Vida?
  18. Maybe I read too much into this, since it's not even confirmed. But if they really decide to not book fan-favourites like KGLW and Slowdive for this year even though they are around, this might be a sign that they are confident with the line-up and maybe save those for 2025/2026.
  19. I would throw MGMT in the mix. New album to be released on 23th february. Haven't been in europe since 2018 and have played Primavera only once in 2008.

    2023 New Music

Didn't really know Sampha before, but wow, that album is stunning. Also, not sure if it's been posted, but Caroline released this banger a few days ago. And there is this, not as good as dykttatuob-Lana, but still beautiful imo.
  21. I think Caroline Polachek, Black Country, New Road, Yung Lean and Drain Gang also played 2022 and 2023, but yeah, I think it was mostly due to Post-Covid-shuffles as you said. Would love them to book one of the members of Drain Gang solo tho, they should be there every year from now on imo^^.
  22. Loving the new Beach Fossils-album, they are doing a small tour in europe in february/march with no spanish date. They haven't played in spain since Primavera Sound 2012 according to setlists.fm, would love them to be back.
  23. I mean Aaron produced both albums Sheeran released this year and the other guys did some of the instrumentals. So it only makes sense that they are playing some dates with him imo. But yeah, in general I would agree, it's surprising to see them on the line-up, but more so because Hurricane/Southside stopped booking acts like them.
  24. Thanks for the tip. I guess, I'll try that:)
