  1. That is so, so far away. My perspective here - we glamp because we come from overseas and it just makes life an awful lot easier when we're not having to drag camping stuff thousands of kilometres. It's one of our big holidays of the year so we don't mind spending the extra. We've done Zootopia, Glastotel and will be in Ziggucamp this year. Don't really have an opinion on the 'spirit of the festival' chat. As long as everyone's being generally nice to each other, sharing a J, enjoying some banging music - does it really matter where we sleep? Moving home to the UK in 2026 and that'll be the end of glamping for us.
  2. Spectacularly perfect festival conditions.
  3. Yup. International contingent here, flying in on Friday and my wellies are nowhere near my suitcase right now.
  4. 15th isn't a strike day at least - feels like this stuff is easier to deal with coming in rather than leaving! Sorry, though, that's a bit of a shitshow to start a honeymoon but hope you both have a magic time.
  5. Thankfully this isn't hitting the pre-Glasto weekend, loads of us would have had a sh*t time. Just have to be extra mindful of time when returning home.

    Guns n Roses

Disclaimer - not a GnR fan and wouldn't see them anyway but I would say its important to remember this is an Abu Dhabi crowd. I live in the UAE and our live music crowds are generally pretty awful - just statues watching through phone screens. Has Axl's voice gone a bit? Sure but a decent Pyramid crowd will absolutely carry him along. Completely different scenario to a half-asleep Abu Dhabi crowd.
  7. I travel to Singapore/Bangkok quite a lot for work and it is RIDICULOUS how hard it gets when its 28c but 90% humidity. Humidity just absolutely saps your strength.
  8. It was awesome wasn't it? I don't have a great bladder so got up one morning around 6am for a piss and was just open-mouthed at how beautiful the rainbow was.

    Block 9 lineup

Skrillex is headlining Saga in Romania on the Friday night…
  10. Last year, I was definitely feeling a bit out-of-sorts with the festival and so ducked into Pilton Palais for 30mins, felt much better after a bit of movie watching, got my head back together. Strummerville is the same - nice little spot to just sit down and reset.
  11. Thank you for this, it's incredibly kind of you to mention! My physio has given me a really good stretching regimen but I would always be grateful for extra insight. A shooting stick, thats what its called! Its what I had in my head but wasn't explaining too well in my original post. Really appreciate the links here, thank you so much.
  12. Congrats! Everyone's experience is a little different but I found the first 30 the toughest so huge well done for getting through that! It's certainly a different experience but a good one, promise.
  13. Does anyone in this thread have any experience on managing back injuries at Glasto? Generally very fit and active (marathoner, half-Ironman type level) but this is new territory for me… Tore one of the L4/L5 (two lowest vertebrae) spinal support muscles in early May and currently going through physio. Should be just about OK by mid June but have to admit I’m bricking it at the prospect of it flaring again during the festival! I know late nights are probably out for me. Considering a fold up chair incase of times where it’s tough to find a sit down. Anyone…?
  14. One thing I do think is that it seems well balanced. No obvious stage mistakes like Wet Leg last year. There will always be some super busy things going on but sort of feels like people will be well spread around the site this year.

    The Park 2023

Daytime can be OK but a big act in the night will be ridiculous - tried to get into Mark Ronson there in 2019 and the queue was all the way down the hill.

    Glastocam!

I'd have been really close to you. My wife went to go get some chips about 30mins before their set and we didn't get reunited again until after the set! It was crazy - I was astounded they put them on the Park when it was so, so clear they were in a wave of popularity and needed to be early doors Other / subbing JP.
  17. Re no 4.... RIP a lovely set of RayBan Wayfarers I owned. Hope the long drops enjoyed their new shades in 2019.
  18. They were fucking fantastic on JP last year. My favourite set of the weekend.
  19. Nice to see this thread pop up again! Currently at 445 sober days, going strong and looking forward to a second sober Glasto this summer. Hopefully a few more AF beers this time around to save me carrying an Ikea bag full of cans on the bus... Private messages always open if someone wants to chat about cutting down, quitting, anything AF really x
  20. I got my partner a Theragun for Christmas and the thing is just brilliant. Very much toying with bringing it to Glasto as well!
  21. I've had a couple of lovely afternoons at Strummerville but never thought of it for the evening. Appreciate this, thank you!
  22. 100%. There's been days where its been a really long one and our group will just head home post-headliners. Not because we want to go home but we just want something a bit more chilled than SEC. I reckon there's an untapped demand to running places with a more pub vibe early into the morning.
  23. 100% this. With more people attending than ever, people need a bit of spreading out and the obvious answer is to do more with SH - the opposite end from SEC!
  24. Time for a crack at the % game: AM - 30%. Missed both their previous Glasto sets and so think I've probably missed the version of the band that I want to see. I was 20 when their debut came out and I imagine lots of us around that age have AM as one of their most important bands as we were growing up. Could be easily tempted over if mates want to go. GnR - 1%. Absolutely made up for fans of the band but honestly don't think they deserve the slot. An incredibly divisive pick. There's always room for a 'classic' artist to headline Glasto but my feel is that they should have remained current, to a degree, like how Macca continues to release music. It's been 14yrs since new GnR music and 29yrs since music that anyone really liked. Still, the beauty of the place is that there's always other things to watch! 🙂 Reg - 100%. Going to be one of the most iconic moments in the history of the festival and can't think of anything I'd go to instead.
  25. Hi! Firstly, really well done on your 26 days. Did my first sober Glasto this year after a few years of not being very good at drinking, to be honest. 321 days alcohol-free today! It was truly absolutely fine. The AF beer range was pretty poor last year - anticipated this and brought a pretty good supply with me. It was really nice to be so present for everything going on around me.
