  1. Yeah scary stuff on the beeb. I don’t know how we’ll all cope. Awful, it’s over, etc etc
  2. Yes thank you everyone it’s been a treat to follow this year. Now on with the real business. Let’s go and have the time of our lives!
  3. We’re just getting the start of it in Gloucestershire
  4. But it’ll pass in a couple of hours
  5. It’ll be fine. I would imagine they’ll be areas of pooled water but that will drain away or dry before gates open. If the ground was already sodden then we’d be in big bother.
  6. Hi, anyone know of a place on site that does a de ent int of the black stuff?
  7. She said when the sun was out (which was the majority of the time) it was fierce. Like, stay in the shade fierce.
  8. My friend has been on site since this morning setting up their stall (Shiva Eye) and she said it f*clef it down for a short time then sun out again. And it made absolutely zero impact on the state of the ground.
  9. Sorry to sound like a stuck record but it puked it down on the Tuesday before 2019. Also very heave thunderstorms were possible for the festival itself the weekend before.
  10. No I definitely wasn’t being serious. My sense of humour is very dry. Like this years festival will be. But not as dry as 1995. That was a great year. We all rode round the site on penny farthings. The Beatles headlined and we had a minutes silence when JFK was shot. They even showed the moon landing on the Pyramid screens.
  11. No. It’s s Glastonbury forum where I like to reminisce about Glastonbury with other people who go to Glastonbury regarding the weather of previous Glastonbury’s in the weather thread.
  12. Both BBC and Accuweather currently showing light showers on eitherWeds or Thurs then very decent for the rest of the festival. Be interesting to see some ensembles.
  13. Totally manageable. Specially with the temps. Will dry up if not persistent.
  14. 97 I slipped and went flat on my arse. I stood there shouting at the ground for a good two minutes before a lady came and calmed me down. I’ve never been so mad with the floor.
  15. See I got fed up 1997, but I was there the week after too so it got a bit much. 1998 was a fantastic year for me. I took some steel toe capped wellies from work and stomped around like Godzilla.
  16. Always wondered how many people left early in 2016. I saw a lot of people going on the Sat/Sun in 1997.
  17. Yeah. That was one heck of an eruption.
  18. I still reckon Time Team will find someone clutching a bag if Ketamine in a few decades time.
  19. I have friends who were part of the Fire Circle crew in the healing fields. They’d been to every single festival. They are getting on a bit anyway but 2016 was the last straw for them. They never returned. By that I mean they didn’t go again. Not that they disappeared in the mud never to be seen again.
  20. I’m not surprised in the least. The fact they managed to get it up and running and sustain it all the way through was a logistical wonder. I didn’t go that year. I’m kind of glad.
  21. Maybe that’s where they got the idea for Glastonbury on sea…. Looking at that, I’m pretty amazed it went ahead to be honest. That’s an insanely high water table. From a health and safety point of view they could have maybe justified pulling the plug.
