I think it’ll be more rave inclined personally with the fact he seems to be doing a stage takeover, who knows tho. Wherever you go it’ll be carnage

I think you’re right actually. I only realised after seeing the poster that the whole of Thursday at Stonebridge is part of History of Rave. I initially thought it was just Eats Everything’s set at 1pm.

Really split between Hopkins/Avery and FloPo on Saturday night. What's the deal with San Remo, is it indoor only and what's the capacity like? As it's a new venue probably difficult to know?

Seen Hopkins (live) and (dj) a number of times so think FloPo will win out particularly if queues l to the SE corner aren't as bad as they have been in previous years. Always a chance I can convince my mates that they'd rather be at the spider on Friday as well.

There are a few of us on here struggling over that clash. I’m leaning towards FloPo but I guess I’ll see how I feel on the night. Hopkins and Avery (b2b VTSS) will both be on Arcadia over the weekend so there’s another chance to see them.

  3. Thursday

    Giant Swan > Talaboman

    Friday

Bonobo > Four Tet > Jon Hopkins > Blawan B2B LCY

    Saturday

Ross From Friends / Caribou > HAAi > Bonobo (DJ) > Floating Points > Joy Orbison > Pangaea x Pariah

(still umming and ahhing over whether to stay at San Remo for Jon Hopkins > Daniel Avery)

    Sunday

Ross From Friends (DJ) > Daniel Avery b2b VTSS

My mate was raving about Floating Points at Wide Awake the other week and I've never seen him so I think we're gonna go there.

Plus I've dragged some mate's to two Daniel Avery sets at Beat Hotel in the last few years and they've never lasted very long 😂

Oh man! NOW you've given me a dilemma!!

On 'normal' form, Hopkins into Avery is a dream. But, to their credit, BH/San Remo offer something different to typical SEC techno, so I have wondered if their sets there might not be what I am looking for. I'm kind of happy to to give it a go and see, but the obsessive in me doesn't want to waste dancing time with the yomp to IICON if it becomes obvious that it's not for me!!

    Ben

Seeing him on the IICON stage could be something special so I'm leaning towards that. Definitely a tough decision!

I'm keen to see HAAi but am a bit afraid it may be a DJ set like Romy before her. Does anyone know what type of set she is likely to be doing?

I note that Ross From Friends and those two are in the same order on Sonic (Sat) and San Remo (Sun). I'm guessing the Sonic slots are live and the ones on San Remo are DJ?

    Any takes?

I'm 99% certain all Haai's performances will be dj sets. She used to be in a band, but as an electronic artist I'm not aware of her having done anything other than dj (which she is very very good at). She has got an album coming out and is, I think, working on a live setup, so there's an outside chance she might partly trial it for one of her Glasto slots. She's basically my neighbour so I'll ask her the next time I see her in the Co-op.

(She does play a fair amount of her own stuff in her dj sets though if that's any consolation).

I messaged HAAi on Instagram asking if any of her sets will be live and she came back with this.

Anyone else facing the dilemma between Floating Points & Daniel Avery on the Saturday night?

I’ll be heading to one of them from Four Tet at the spider but can’t make my mind up. I’ll be at IICON the night before for Overmono so might be nice to check out San Remo, but then I’ve seen Avery before and not floating points…decisions decisions 😄

Same predicament for me. Daniel Avery is guaranteed to be good. I haven’t had a chance to see Floating Points before so I’m not sure what his set will be like.

That’s what I’m thinking/hoping for - live set on Sonic with the other two being DJ sets.

  8. I booked a motorhome this morning then stressed out all day about getting a ticket. I found the perfect motorhome so didn’t want to miss out. Luckily I managed to get a ticket very easily ?

Hmmmm. Will the cv tickets sell-out, or not? :P

That's a difficult one to answer. There appears to be enough availability overall, but cv tickets get bought (via other registrations) by people who need to get a ticket in the resale, and get bought by people who quite like the idea of a campervan but back out because of high rental price or availability - so there might be more buyers than tickets tomorrow.

There were a number of CV resales over following weeks/months last year tho, so there should be the opportunity to get one later (a friend of mine did).

I can't believe I was stressing out for nothing. I had three computers set up with VPNs etc. I didn't even see a holding page - straight through and purchased before 19:01!

yeah - but mostly because everyone is trying at once, rather than there not being enough to go round.

In some previous years they've put the cv tickets on in batches, so they've gone to sold out and then more have become available within 5 minutes - so keep that in mind if they do go sold out and keep trying for a while.

you'll need your postcode too. It's much like buying the entrance tickets, but with much less chance of 'sold out'. :)

Thanks - that's good to know.

Do you think there's much point in using multiple devices and auto-refresh, or am I likely to get a ticket just by refreshing on one device?

  11. An eight man tent will be a good size for five of you. Remember you'll need space for your bags and whatever else you bring.

I always camp in Lime Kiln as it's a bit quieter and there's more space up there.

I can speak with almost total confidence it will not be a live set. Like, 99.99999% – Bicep live is big bucks and a big production headache for anywhere smaller than a Printworks-sized venue.

The next time Bicep play live on the farm it'll be headlining or subbing WH/JP

Yeah I was thinking the same. I just wish they were more consistent with labelling as DJ or Live.

What do you think about George FitzGerald then? One of his sets is listed as DJ and the other isn't.

  13. 1 hour ago, bennyhana22 said:

We’re pretty sure it’s DJ. They’ve been very consistent in indicating when sets are specifically live. No reason to expect the Bicep boys to be anything other than mixing.

    Ben

I hate that they’ve listed two of their sets as DJ and the other one is a mystery. I’ve never been to The Gas Tower but it looks a bit small for a live set.
