  1. Ls23 will still be there chevron will not replace it. Leeds will definitely be one of the places to go to experience a true camping festival rather than a 3 day concert
  2. Think it's hilarious that for 2 years people have been moaning about the 2 stage concept and now they have their wish now talking about not liking the fact that big acts will clash. Can't please everyone. However I think overall the new format is progressive and a great idea. For example I have no interest in blink and I am ecstatic i have real options in the new format so I can go see the prodigy instead
  3. This looks amazing. Loved arcadia at Glastonbury but This looks much better. Might actually get a ticket for prodigy day as hopefully they will be going back to being more of a dance act rather than rock. Seen them 4 times but not been to see them since 1996 due to going more down the path of rock music.
  4. At both reading and Leeds? Obviously Arcadia at Glastonbury goes on until 3am would this not be an issue at reading. Also leeds already had ls23 which is similar to Arcadia
  5. Do we think changes could be putting something on Thursday night for weekend ticket holders like quite a few festivals are doing? Different band at each reading and Leeds? Might back up the prodigy rumor even if they are only playing reading.
  6. Was discussing the announcement with my son last night on the way home from 21 savage. He was buzzing about Fred again. I asked him if he heard of Skrillex and all he knew about him was that he used to be quite big 10 years ago and did a set with fred again at Coachella. So would assume that not made a big impact recently so dance tent headliner could be a possibility.

    2024 Headliners

Could it be that out of the "2 female headliners" Emily referred to that one is actually booked for the legends slot which is technically classed as the 4th headliner?
  8. Can you imagine how good the pr would be if you had spice girls as legend slot, 2 female headliners and a current young male such as dave or Harry styles for 2024.
  9. Never seen blur at r and l. Last time I saw them was at v festival. Everyone moaning that r and l is becoming more like v festival but I didn't think the line up when I went was too bad
  10. I have no intention of going due to the cost however I still tried as only £50 deposit and hope situation changes before full balance. I reckon the deposit scheme means a lot will try for tickets in the main sale even if they are not sure they will be attending as not lost anything. Unless the line up is amazing and/or the economy improves before balance payment is due I reckon there will be a lot more tickets available in the resale than before. Personally I think they should offer payment in full or a payment plan to deter people who are not 100% sure and taking tickets away from those that are desperate to go
  11. Can someone remind me of the 5 names so I don't have to trawl through the thread please. Hopefully better than Glastonbury predicated 3 of am, gnr and Elton
  12. So as much as I would like to go again I cannot justify the cost when I look what I can get for the same elsewhere. My wife and I went in 2019 our first Glastonbury and my wife's first festival. I hadn't been to a festival since 1997. We absolutely loved it but the kids weren't happy we went without them so contemplated going this year. Our kids are 15 and 17 so will cost the adult price and when I add up not only the ticket price plus 4 coach tickets From leeds at £100 each plus a tent in Worthy view (I know I don't have to but we would need to if going) plus spending money I am looking at £3500. We also like hot weather which is one of the reasons we loved 2019 and if it was to rain all weekend I would be gutted to spend all that money and be miserable. I believe. I was half tempted to try for tickets as only need to pay the deposit and reassess next year but I know that I probably won't go no matter how good the line up is so have decided not to bother. For All those trying I hope for your sake there are a lot people in my situation and who will not try today/Sunday. Or if you are unsuccessful this week that there will be a better chance in the resale compared to other years. Good luck everyone
  13. Reading and Leeds now cater for his demographic now although he did say last year's line up was much better. Not sure he would go to reading though as no late night stuff. Reading Is really 3 days of concerts with camping offered as accommodation Not really a festival
  14. You have basically described my 16 year old son and his mates. They only went to see Dave/dbe/AJ Tracey/Polo g and dance/1xtra tent. I picked him up during artic monkeys Last night as him and his mates have no interest. In his words "do people still play guitars these days?" Although he said best thing about Leeds fest was ls23 and picadilly
  15. How do you find out who the secret sets are, where and time? Will they be revealed on the app on the day?

    BBC Coverage 2022

Weather doesn't look too good. Probably not that Bad but will hope put people off wanting tickets for next year.

    BBC Coverage 2022

Gerry cinnamon 2019 in jp at 2pm. 1 hour before couldn't get anywhere near the tent. Was ridiculously rammed.
  19. Do we know if Travis Scott was definitely booked for 2022? If so who replaced him on the Line up do we think?
  20. I really hope the festival is glorious sunshine for everyone. But like you say a bit of sunshine makes everything better. 2019 the weather was what made it so special for me that I will never go again due to the risk of bad weather. Regardless of the acts there if you could guarantee me 2019 weather I would be there every year

    Same time as love island.
  22. After 3 years of waiting, thinking it's almost over
  23. The reason why I haven't applied for tickets after 2019 as for me the weather is by far the biggest factor of enjoyment. Regardless of whose playing nothing will ever top that weather. I remember the same predictions for 2019 as are coming through now however, and it turned out brilliant
  24. Completely agree with you. I think music is tied to experiences/memories and bands that people like are usually the ones that are around at the time. These experienced/memories From music do tend to be heightened around teenage years and Early twenties. Like yourself I can't think of any big Acts coming about in the 80s apart from the ones you mentioned, but I remember hip-hop with the likes of public enemy and the acid house rave scene exploding circa 1988. Then for me it was the euphoria around the Stone roses and happy Mondays 1989/1990 Also REM, Nirvana and Soundgarden/Sonic youth 1991/1992 followed by britpop explosion in 1993/4 with obviously Oasis v blur. By this point I was starting my twenties and haven't really been into music in a big way so a lot of the acts mentioned on here as huge have passed me by until more recently now my kids have grown up and like yourself I prefer to listen to more recent music but probably veer more to my rave and hip hop influences over my Rock influences. Apart from Glastonbury 2019 the only gigs I have been to in the past 25 years are de la soul, the prodigy, Oasis, stone roses and guns and roses.
