  1. Yeah my friend was there and said they played a load of obscure songs and then seemed really frustrated that no one was joining in and then played several hits which went down really well, I suppose regular gigs are a better place place okay mote of the back catalogue and festivals should be based more around the hits
  2. Yeah pretty much, we've constantly been told that vaccinations are the main way out, I don't see why they're so shocked when people suddenly aren't as worried when they're fully vaxxed
  3. I genuinely think they're all disappointed things haven't gone as apocalyptic as predicted and are really trying to stay relevant somehow, this is the lowest of lows though. I would really expect better from people who are allegedly so respected in their fields I find they're constantly trying to undermine the vaccine rollout too, someone I followed had liked Pagel tweet basically saying because vaccines aren't 100% effective those fully vaccinated shouldn't get freedoms but then contradicted herself saying everyone should still do it. As I said the other day the vast majority of people just aren't interested in the pandemic anymore and want to get on with life living alongside it
  4. Yeah wasn't last time Wolf Alice, Slaves and Frank Carter? That makes far more sense to me than the ones you've mentioned
  5. I was thinking this the other day, unless you specifically look for it online or read/watch the news a lot I don't think many people would even notice the pandemic now, it's either you're in the covid sphere or not. Yes I know masks and vaccine passports/testing are in place but I'm just used to it now it becomes second nature. I might keep an eye on the odd thing but as a whole this is the most normal/least worried I've been in 18 months now
  6. On Spotify there's an abridged version which is solely the music which you could try, I listened to that instead as I don't really like spoken word either Absolutely love it as a whole, not as much as ITM but still a really solid album and you can tell Brandon had a bigger influence on it this time round
  7. After Latitude a few weeks back my first indoor gig should now be The Vaccines at the Waterfront in Norwich 1st October but as gigs are popping up everywhere now I won't be surprised if there's something beforehand now
  8. This was my 6th Olympics in my lifetime, however I was only a month old at the start of the Sydney games so I'd say ive seen 5 in living memory but I can vaguely remember Kelly Holmes winning gold in Athens. London 2012 will always be the best Olympics for me though, even if I am hugely biased
  9. You raise the biggest issue, Glasto has such a big build compared to other festivals and requires far more people so perhaps it's biggest USP is its downfall. Decisions will need to be made early wheras smaller ones like Latitude only officially announced they were going ahead a month before it started. Still I'm currently certain it will go ahead, especially as festivals are going ahead now as you've mentioned so - 100%
  10. 100% - if it doesn't happen a new super variant will have emerged which will have wiped us all out
  11. Done a final test today as seeing some elderly relatives later on and was negative again so I'm assuming if I were to have caught it at the festival it would have shown up by now, any later would have been too late. I guess we'll find out the final results of the trials soon, it was about 3 weeks after the Blossoms pilot IIRC. Conveniently 3 weeks will be just before Reading and Leeds I believe, what a coincidence...
  12. They were a lot of fun at Latitude, definitely reccomend seeing them if you get the chance
  13. Glad to hear it! My friend had a similar case where they felt awful but then the LFTs varied in results but was all clear after the PCR - I suppose now we might see a few more infections as a results of the travel back (trains and coaches) but anyone testing positive now will be really hard to distinguish where they actually caught it, it does seem as if the majority have been fine though so I'll be interested to see the final results
  14. Still on a high from last weekend and looking forward to the next festival already. Who would we like to see there? We have Capaldi headlining the Friday as it stands and I think it could be London Grammar and Royal Blood as the other headliners. I'd also love to see Chic and Nile Rogers, The Specials and Celeste on too and imagine we might see some of this year's cancelled acts back too like Fontaines DC and Arlo Parks
  15. Yeah all clear this way too, tested most days this week just to keep clear but feel perfectly fine
  16. I saw Debbie Tubby from Look East walking round but I suppose there are only 3 counties in the country who know her! I'm also fairly sure I saw Maisie Adam the comedian too My all time record was from 2015 where I saw David Morrisey, Harry Enfield and Angus Deyton in the space of 10 minutes
  17. I'll try 😜 although I'm usually the one making sure everyone gets home okay at the end of the night so not not worried there
  18. Off out on my first proper night out in almost a year tonight ahead of my birthday tomorrow, very excited for it. I'm also seeing all my family in one place for the first time since last September too, it's nice to go out and plan things isn't it? 🙂
  19. Latitude did have a policy of if you tested positive before or during the festival you'd be entitled to a refund so I imagine most other fests will do the same Yeah this is my thinking, and also most of the posts on there are very much hearsay as well which never help. The EDP round here did an article about people saying they were positive now but gave one single anonymous source. The media will pounce on anyone who says they were positive afterwards and ignore those who weren't, for example my family who went have tested most days since and have all been fine so far and by the sounds of it most other attendees are too so we can hope it stays that way
  20. This is a good thread basically explaining everything but I agree they'll only really pick up on people who report it afterwards, it will only be an issue if there's a major outbreak as a result but hopefully that's unlikely
  21. I've seen a lot more hearsay than anything else, along the lines of the individuals friends sisters son catching it there or something similar. The main issue is you'll only really hear from the people who might have caught it as opposed to those who didn't, everyone who I went with has tested since we left and have been negative so far. I suppose if anything major comes out of if they can argue it was a research event and that was its purpose
  22. Latitude had around 10 acts pull out, 4 from the main stages and 6 from the smaller ones. They were almost all replaced within 2 hours of the cancellation and as both fests are run by FR Im sure it'll be the same sort of thing, although I suppose R+L has a bigger risk as they have more international acts
  23. I'm testing every couple of days but both negative so far and everyone I went with is too, hoping it'll stay that way!! I won't drop my guard but if we make it it the weekend without anything I might leave it then as it'll be close enough to the 10 days
