Back in the resale group. And hating the idea of going through that angst all over again, however with the help of nice people on this forum I reckon we can all be in the fields again come June!

Rum Anyone
in Chat
Spiced rum and apple juice for the win. Holds up against the heat and the natural sugar in the apple juice helps stave off the next day hang over....either that or you are having an indulgent toffee apple drink with your brekkie!

I’ve gone and got the much-heralded early shifts! Woop! I’ll be there from Saturday 18th now, which is great, but also means it’s a really long stretch meaning extra clothes, money, food to bring, etc etc . . . I’d really best start sorting out a bed too, seeing as I’ll be sleeping in it for a week . . .
That's amazing. Rare as rocking horse
...
I wonder what your shifts will entail. Anyone on the forum got previous experience?

Having walked up Snowdon on Saturday, the realisation finally hit home that I need to do some work before we hit the field!

For all the cockneys on the boards, how do you rate Notting Hill Gate?
Nowhere near as good as Lancaster Gate

Send a Glastonbury postcard to friends & fam or just one to yourself, perhaps with a smear of mud (dry obv NFRNFC). When you get home a little chuckle about the condition you were in when you wrote it.
I did this back in 2019 sending a lovely memento to my now wife, in September it hadn't come through the postbox so thought it must have been lost in the post. Randomly, one afternoon walking down our street together to get an early evening cider, the missus looked down, saw a Glasto postcard on the pavement, picked it up to give it to whatever house it was supposed to go to, only to find my half cut scrawl on the back!

What part of the pyramid are we saying? I mean there is a difference between leaving from the side, from the barrier etc etc
I agree, but I think for places like Pyramid we have to go from the middle of the field otherwise everything could have a 5 min swing on it

Presumably if you used that map that overlays onto a real map, and then cross referenced it with the latest map when it comes out, you could actually work out the real distances and then then the time based on average walking speeds? There must be some sort of app that enables you to work out distances by drawing lines in a map? Or maybe not?
There will definitely be updates once the new map is out.

This is an old chart from a few years back, the main difference then was that arcadia moved, I'm not sure there have been any significant changes that would impact times since then. Did the John Peel move further out a few years ago? A few of the times seem off as well, there's no way that Silver Hayes to Acoustic takes 45 minutes.
This was where the whole conversation started in the "site changes" question thread.
There was general consensus that a fair bit of updating would be needed. But there are aspects of it that should be pretty close

Right, maybe we start using Pyramid as our centre point,
How long do people think it would take to get from the Pyramid (centre of the field) to the following:
Avalon
Bandstand
Block9
Cabaret
Cider Bus
Cinemaggedon
CoOp
Glade
Glasto on Sea
John Peel
Kidzfield
Meeting Point
Other
Pangea
Ped Gate C
Shangri-La
Silver Hayes
Stone Circle
Strummerville
Park
Theatre & Circus
West Holts
Worthy View
Try to keep the timings to 5 min gaps
From here, we should be able to work out other timings easily based on maps and experience -

I wonder if you'd need to specify the entrance to some of these, the park is quite big, as is silver Hayes.
Second thought, would distances actually me more helpful because people walk at different speeds and it varies so much based off the weather and crowds.
Everything previously was based on no mud, average walking speeds, and off peak timings.
I think if we start trying to do distances we are may be getting too in depth.
As for the areas such as Silver Hayes and Shangri-La etc, I think we should maybe go for main bar/stage in that area.
This isn't supposed to be used as the bible, more an estimate of timings

I have always found a post code in beyond the side of site I want to park in and then ensured my route takes me to that point, but without hitting the immediate roads around site, this has allowed me to get to where we wanted to park.
However, don't forget, walking across site with all your stuff AFTER you have walked to the gate from the car seems like you are carrying your stuff for a serious period of time!
