  1. 2023 had 58 acts and currently there is 39 listed on their 2024 poster so they definitely will add more. As for how big the additions are I have a feeling you might have seen most of the big names and the key club "smaller" bands will likely take up the majority of the additions with a few big names to headline each release of names (there was decent talk earlier of tonight alive coming back in some form for slam dunk this year)
  2. Well here is our answer then. Get ready for the third wave of names to have "and special guests Enter Shikari are back to play third on main stage of fall out boy day"
  3. This is me more wishing it but Touche Amore haven't played trees in a while, headlined outbreak festival in 2022 and are open in 2024 after doing download in 2023. Biggest issue is they're currently not booked anywhere in summer and I imagine they probanly have said theyre finished touring that album and are taking a break.
  4. I get it, inflation and everything but considering glastonbury this year is £355 and last years mega 4 day download festival was £345 a price of £350 is... a lot.
  5. Am I missing something or is that a Creeper tease. Im love creeper but that would be a slightly weak headliner. That said slam dunk let them headline a stage last year.
  6. Hoping for a good list of bands I want to see. Haven't been to a gig since lockdown and always liked 2000 trees as a possible fest to go to. I am sure im also part of a decent group of people who saw the SD first drop and the price tag and are more curious about this fest than the last few years. Bands im hoping for specifically are menzingers, touche amore, slaughter beach dog, tiny moving parts and spanish love songs.
  7. My personal thoughts with the words below: Slam dunk don't usually show off a "split" poster like this until much later but its also usually obvious to split the stages on "genre" of music usually and the way this poster is split does read appropriate. Last year all stages had a minimum of 7 bands and a max of 9 so most of these "stages" have a lot of space left except for the ska punk stage. Speaking of last year that was a headliner stage but the "size" or "quality" of the bands announced do seem smaller. Right now I would have to assume the ska punk is in the dual sided tent alternating with I guess the "stage" headed up by the wonder years. That could entirely change if they pull Rancid as their second main headliner and pull another big name next to Interrupters. My guess is right now the 2 main stages are the ones headed by YMAS obviously and they solidify the I prevail stage with say WSS, maybe Turnstile or as someone mentioned earlier, Refused playing shape of punk to come.
  8. Are we all thinking waterparks/interrupters/i prevail are stage headliners? I could see maybe someone poking in front of waterparks but unless they get WSS or rancid I imagine those might be your other stage headliners
  9. I was wondering recently what happened to tonight alive, I fell off them around album 3 as I kind of felt they were veering too pop, not so much punk at that point but I did not realise they have not toured since like 2018.
  10. I would 100 percent be fine with that as I only usually have the chance to see 1 of those 3 headliners anyway so it would probably be sleeps for me. With the hope that they stack the undercard with some bigger bands like they used to
  11. Sorry for the double post but I like this idea. Maybe use cashless wristbands or an nfc scanning wristband thats exclusive for the eco bond trial you can sign up for, reduce your weekend ticket by 20 pounds as long as you scan it on the way out. R&L can have an exclusive exit line or 2 at each exit with a scanner thats manned by an attendant to visually "identify" a tent. It doesn't seem like too much added cost up front for R&L and a possible method to implement the system in a first year trial.
  12. I remember tpdtv making a showing of coachella having cleanup in their "rules" and overall the space being pretty clean. But as everyone has said different demographic. I'm not sure how I feel about the £20 eco bond as if youre paying this high price for a weekend ticket, whats another 20 pounds, thats like 2-3 beers in this current economic landscape. I would personally want to see it higher to actually incentivize the cleanup. Without a push most people would just take the 20 pound hit and who gets that sneaky profit, FR to pay for cleanup and a tasty little bonus on the side for not doing much more. Theres also an argument to be made about the eco camp expansion as to what point does it become too saturated and has no effect, the bigger it becomes at some point the more space gets taken up by the people who don't care and therefore your social/peer pressure to clean up is reduced. Will something like Becky Hill talking about how tents can't be recycled as easily as most things lead to some improvement? I guess so but we have had bands like Enter Shikari making it a point to spend some time in every set of theirs to highlight the issues for at least a decade now and theyre basically a house band at Reading. It really is a super interesting topic to figure out.
  13. Even if we go down the logic path of Slam Dunk really spend some money to pull in a massive name to again justify a bigger capacity, the eras tour is in portugal on the saturday of the bank holiday weekend and I think slam dunk will want to stick with using saturday and sunday as their days. Who knows maybe they pull paramore in for one of those ym@6/nofx/adtr single day events?
  14. Ah fair enough I never went in the tent that year but wondered if it was opened up lengthways rather than just on one of the ends made a difference. It does seem like the layout truly needs a rethink.
  15. Granted my info is from half a decade ago now (boy time flies) but I do remember while south 2019 was busy it seemed to be pretty tolerable queue wise except for the card readers not working well at the bars. I was looking at the map and its the same layout for 2021 and it appears drawn up so the kerrang tent was sideways I remember you could easily get in there. Did they change the entrance making it smaller in 2023 causing that big jam? Also the big merch tent in the middle was really cool to have, seems like 2023 its now wasted space or as you are all reporting a big food zone.
