Never been to Glasto so can only compare with what I see and hear but I have been to RW from Yorkshire 6 times in the last 10 years. Never seen any trouble, toilets that are cleaned and flush, better chance at seeing UK bands ( less popular in Belgium) from the front of the crowd, front of the main stage section that is available for a short wait for nearly every band. Le shuttle would be fine, 2 hours drive, but i think motorhome slots are sold out on site so you would have to book one 1km away. They close the tents (see 17k and 12k capacity) if full but if you are there when the last band finishes you have a reasonable chance at getting in. If not, there big crowds at the massive screens outside joining in.

With the provisional announcement of the line up for Glasto I have to say we have many of their best names. With the added fact that Werchter is more accessible to get to different stages. With this I am very pleased with the job our Werchter bookers have done. Sure we all have our gripes about who is not on the lineup but does the 'ultimate' festival have them?

Totally agree. I can see myself spending the first 2 days just staying in that area. I can see the ❌❌❌ across the tents quite frequently with what I read on this and the festileaks forum. A consensus of not a pull to the main stage but more of what we are saying about the undercard. A case of choose your acts and get there early( again).

Had a good look around and can't find any start date for the sale of the parking tickets, you may just have to sign up to the messages/ Twitter/ insta. They seem to have sold them right up to the end of June last year. If you get a give resort package you get one included with that. New names probably before the end of the month. I believe they announced a full line up by March 3rd last year.

I have stayed in a Sahara 4 at a previous edition. Yes they can still get chilly overnight, you do get a bed off the floor with a pillow and duvet (but not very thick). I was happy I took a sleeping bag to sleep in under the duvet. It was warm enough for me. No power provided inside the tents ( at least in a Sahara).

Lido sounds festival in Linz, Austria, the week before Werchter have announced some names. Including Sam Smith, Idles and Parov Stelar.

If you refer to Till why not. As far as I am aware the Till Lindeman case has been closed due to lack of evidence from the prosecuting team. We as normal people cannot say for sure a yes or no on any news/ court cases as we don't know the full story but as with many stories they are exploded in the media without knowing the full story. We can only go on what we read and see in the media and judge from that. Rammstein just posted they are announcing a European Stadium tour for 24. Dates will be posted next week. It will be interesting to see if they play any festivals with this ( like many other acts these days). I had put them on my wish so my fingers are crossed.

My first edition. I paid over the odds as a paid for two day tickets but then bought a third, expensive but brought me back year on year. (I'm waiting in the last names before I commit to this year, will be the first year I've missed if I don't see the acts I like)

I do have the feeling RHCP were booked as a 2 appearance deal, probably not buy one get one free though. If they did get a cheaper deal for doing this then this has massively backfired. This 'never before' headliner is going to be the breaker for many regulars. Rumours in the UK that Sam Ryder, UK Eurovision singer, is going to front Queen on their next tour while Adam Lambert promotes his own album. Can't find the piece back but will post when I do. Maybe a chance if it's true!

Sam Smith just been on BBC. He has a new album out in January and will start a year long tour in April. Would be a great returning Barn act.

RATM have called off their gigs up to 2 April 23. I'm sure they want to get back on the road so no reason why Zack shouldn't be fully fit to start again.

With the price increase announced for Glastonbury it looks like RW combi tickets could be about the €290 mark this year.

I had this conversation last year. Rock Werchter obviously think they are big enough for Belgium as they had them to play at the Encore event last year on a 1930hrs slot. Before the whole thing got pulled.

I am trying to think which bands out there ' owe us one'. I can remember Faith No More and SOAD. Are these an option this time round? Could be a long wait on acts this year, especially from the smaller bands, due to the further rising costs of tour buses and logistics some EU tours are already being cancelled. See Santigold or Sampa the Great.

I hadn't really heard of Stromae when I saw him last time at Werchter but stood there in a ' mouth open' moment. The show, music and crowd were amazing. Being a local guy, who doesn't play often, the crowd love him and it created a real buzz the likes you don't see very often. I think he's a great first act and gets the festival off to a good start.

Shame about Rammstein. Would like to have seen them at Werchter again. I feel the shows and the band are too big for festivals now.
