  1. Julian Clary being on it has convinced me to watch.

    The 1975

Added a fourth millennium dome date. Says final UK show although Brum is the night after. I guess that's admission there'll be no festival dates or finsbury park style one offs (not that that's ever stopped a band before)

    Lizzo

Along with surreptitiously recording meetings(!). I watched the video rebuttal by the dance manager (or whoever), accused of trying to convert everyone to her religion and gotta say...probably best to just pay out now. https://twitter.com/PopCrave/status/1686550192169107457?s=20
  4. Like you we've got a load of CDs we can't part with, but haven't played in half a decade at least. We actually pared it back a bit when we moved a few years ago, but we've still got abut 1000. Some are sentimental to me, but the rest are there not for now, but for the future, when the landscape changes again. We play vinyl now and then, but we try not to buy it as it just sits there taking up space. Listen to spotify on my phone on the train to and from work. When I get home we listen to Radio 1, but flick over to Radio 6 when Jack Saunders gets to be too much (usually 20 minutes). On the weekend if we're in, we watch a lot of music videos on youtube, blasting out the Megaboom 3. Good speaker I take to every afternoon party, cuz no one ever thinks how they're gonna get music to play in the garden.
  5. If I miss out this time I'm not waiting half a year for the resale. Did that this year and realised I'd scuppered myself for going anywhere else. Knowing I've got options makes me less anxious, but I'm gonna be sweating on that thursday.
  6. Series 2 was already marred during production when the creators fell out. It continued into the writer's strike, and is now presumably on hold. Loved series 1, but I'm already mentally letting it go.
  7. They finished '...Mankind' a while ago, so it's just VFX and that left. But they might hold it back a bit to spread what they have across the calendar.
  8. I'm approaching the season 3 finale of Yellowstone. I will say it's been enjoyable. Characterisation is always consistent, even if plotpoints and castmembers aren't. Good show to watch.
  9. And Classic was glasto weekend like I said.
  10. I was thinking of 22 when it was glasto weekend.
  11. If they're at Werchter Classic, that could strike them out of glastonbury completely.
  12. According to The Mary Wallopers own tour site they're playing a gig in a Wolverhampton nursing home
  13. I go to festival facebook to roast them.
  14. Fan groups on facebook have 2 types of people. The attention starved 'hi guys I'm new to XXXXXX, it's so nice to find a community I can be apart of, any ideas where to start with this thing I need to be apart of an exclusive group for' and sycophants with the minds of children who live in a perpetual state of denial that the thing they're obsessed with isn't the best and most popular thing on earth. My girlfriend is always showing me stuff from the Sam Fender group.... 😞
  15. I watched Carti's Wireless headline set on the iplayer. Definite big show feel with all these skinhead performers and the heavy metal guitarist.
  16. I was only aware of that due to Ian Rankin's complainy tweets, but that looked like a lovely little set up.
  17. It was seats on the floor rather than standing. Not many though, likely they planned on opening up the second half of the field due to demand that never came. I was at the Brammal Lane show, which I think just sold short of a sell out. Standing on the field at that one, and it was nicely full. But the wembley set up was designed to sell out, just so they could say they'd done it. Looked so grim.
  18. Do I eschew brum and gamble on the champagne jam?
  19. I'm on that one at the moment. I'd heard of Sigue Sigue Sputnik before but I never knew much about them.
  20. A year ago (or maybe 2?) I went to get the observer from the tesco in new street station (I live 2 minutes walk away). They were filming stuff all round the place, and there were a lot of security positioned. Rumour was it was Mission Impossible as Cruise and McQuarrie had been spotted on the escalators the week prior. As I made my way back with my paper I glanced inside the empty john lewis that had been done up to look like an airport lounge and there was Tom Cruise standing stock still, adorned in his sharp blue suit replete with aviator shades and doing that big smile of his. I felt like the young Bernadette witnessing the apparition of Our Lady at Lourdes.
  21. Feel by Chris Heath is the best I've read. A Rolling Stone journalist embeds himself with Robbie Williams during his imperial phase. Some great anecdotes about his time in Take That and beyond, along with meditations on fame. Nothing else, including multiple autobiographies, has come close to explaining what it's really like at the top of the tree.
  22. The soapy parts are my favourite parts! Had no idea where it was going after I started episode 1, but I really admire the bravery.
