Not gonna lie, I kind of want to see a world where Foals play Download. One of my absolute favourite bands and they always put on a great show, but absolutely not a fit for Download. I guess it’s one of those things that goes both ways. The Download faithful certainly aren’t going to take to them, and they’re not going to get any Foals fans in with Metallica/Slipknot also on the lineup. (Not saying Metallica and Slipknot fans automatically aren’t also into Foals, I just don’t think there’s much overlap)

Foals ain’t headlining MSE. Swap them and Paramore maybe.

New 1975 track is an absolute bop.

Can’t help but feel that Foals will fall into the Sterophonics/Manics loop of just headlining Kendal/Y Not/Truck/Community every other year plus Glasto occasionally.

Should absolutely go to Simz. That album is fantastic. However no BCNR is shocking. That is one of the best rock records in years. Dave, The Smile and Fontaines are all big misses too.

During the last night of their Brixton residency, James Murphy of LCD said “We’ll see you next Summer.” Would they fit at Latitude or are they more likely for another All Points East day?

Maybe there was a chance at one point circa Mylo Xyloto era. I could possibly see it as being something Chris Martin would want to do as like a ticking off the list kind of thing. I think now they’re just content with doing stadiums plus Glasto once every five years or so.

Maybe swap QOTSA out for Foals. Other than that I don’t see why not

I’m torn. If the Metallica x2 rumours are BS for Download I can see them slotting in there, especially if they’ve got four slots to fill. Paramore songs still get played at rock/emo club nights, would be a super progressive booking for DL. Ah who am I kidding they’re gonna book System, Slipknot and Aerosmith again aren’t they?

Yeah can easily see Fender headlining MSW next year as an exclusive, possibly even bumping up to MSE. Maybe a Strokes/Fender top two for the “Indie” day next year.

They were awful in 2018.

After watching Glasto on the telly, would not be surprised if Turnstile appeared in a big slot. Absolutely mega set from them. Also, as an outside shout, how about Black MIDI? Or are they a little too 6Music?

AJ Tracey with a full band behind him is an interesting choice to say the least.

I love Foals, they’re one of my favourite bands. But if you think they should headline the Pyramid over Billie in the year of our Lord 2022, I don’t know what to say. Times change and it’s better for them to play a belter of a set to what seems to be a busy Other stage full of their fans rather than a half empty Pyramid crowd.

Hard to tell exactly but it looks like Foals have got a big crowd on the Other. Get them topping the MSW next year. Seconding the calls that getting Billie should be their priority.

Are Foals now doomed to repeat an infinite loop of Truck/Y Not/Kendall/IoW like Stereophonics/Feeder/Fratellis?

Complete outside shout for headliner. How about Frank Ocean? Rumoured for Coachella next year. Would be an absolutely massive get, not played in the U.K. since 2017. He’d certainly go down a storm at a festival like Parklife but is he too big for them?

In the end, isn’t that kind of what killed V Fest though? Pop crowds are very fickle and don’t care for the festival experience as much as rock, hip hop or dance?

I remember some predictions for 2021 for MSE. I honestly can see it happening but to be honest I think they’d just do Knotfest or Download again.

Think we’re all gonna have to come to terms with the fact of an eventual Harry Styles MSE headline set. Absolutely superb.

I mean, it is big weekend in all fairness.
