  1. Both the wife and I said on the way home that this will be our final year, it is just to big and too busy. This year killed us. Not to mention the amount of stuff I have to bring now to make it though the festival requires a lorry rather than a trolley. gone are the days of the 90s where a roll mat and a case of beer would do. but my brain is an idiot and by the time the tickets go back on sale I will only remember the good time and not the pain and will probably be back in the queue.
  2. I wore trainers for one day and my feet really suffered. so many blisters that I have never got with my walking boots
  3. It is going crazy in Southend. Non stop for the last hour or so.
  4. Not a chance of a cigarette piercing the air poles unless someone deliberately tries to burn it. Taken my air tent to more festivals than I can count and never had an issue, would never go back to poles.
  5. traipsing along the motorway with fears of dread and panic on how far I'm gonna have to walk to find a spot for my groups tents
  6. This is the biggest clash of the festival for me. I really wanted to see Bicep but The Dreamworld tour the Pet Shop Boys are bringing to Glastonbury is amazing. Hit after hit after hit. I will be watching it again.
  7. Gemma Cairney just said on Radio 6 that will be reveling 'more' plans on the Breakfast Show tomorrow
  8. Must have been to a different gig to the twenty odd I have been too over the years.
  9. no miming at a Pet Shop Boys gig. Neil is one of the few 'oldie' acts I have seen that still has his voice (given the style of singing not really the type that degrades)
  10. Saw the tour for the second time last night in Birmingham. Still brilliant. Didn't change at all from the O2 gig. Wondering if they will make any changes for Glastonbury.
  11. It was the first year it went to Festival Republic and they ruined the whole thing.
  12. That seems to be every gig i go to lately no matter how good the band on stage is.
  13. She was good at the Big Chill till she invited everyone onstage and was then shocked when a hundreds of people turned up. she screamed and run away without playing Paper Planes which was what everyone was waiting for lol.

    Glastocam!

    someone is having a boogie
  15. Last few tours have always had live percussionists. This tour has two drummers one also plying keyboard and guitar. Even Neil plays the guitar at one point.
  16. Saw them at the O2 tonight and they were amazing. Even the worst venue in the UK couldn’t ruin a great show. Will work perfectly as a festival set, hit after hit after hit. Really looking forward to seeing it again in Birmingham on Saturday and again at Glastonbury.
  17. I think this years line up is perfect. Loads of acts I would like to see and very few that are essential to see. Should be great music all weekend without to many depressing clashes causing a weekend of FOMO.
  18. that would be amazing. you would have to get everyone to miss the goal with a football
  19. I can imagine, it showed a lot of commitment. you have a lot to live up to this year
  20. Brilliant. it is genuinely my favorite photo from that years Glastonbury and I don't know a single person in the shot lol

    Kendrick Lamar

I am seeing PSB at the O2 and Birmingham so thought I will see something else on the Sunday. But I don’t think I will be able to do it. Festival Pet Shop Boys is always a treat.
  22. Of the 8 times I have seen them 5 have been great and 3 have been terrible. Back in the 90s they were so shambolic you never knew what you were going to get. Last time I saw them was a few years back when they headlined Lakefest and they were amazing, and that was a similar size tent to the John Peel tent.
  23. essential for around the tent. too much effort in the festival itself (although i am considering a compact one for this year as getting up off the floor is getting harder all the time)
  24. i bought the same one a few years back. it is still going strong (i only use it for festivals, so a few times a year) and I have had no problems. isn't 120l though. Slightly bigger than my expensive Gregory 85l bag
