I saw her at Glastonbury Brilliant. Seek out the Utube of her on G Norton show I think  a while back

I’ve just watched this. Brilliant. She’s so different to anything I’ve seen recently.

  2. Also painlessly got tickets to this this morning. My other half is a big Neil Young fan but was also interested in a bit of Dylan. I had to warn him of his propensity to play whatever random arrangements of songs he likes.

Is anyone else rumoured for support apart from Florence?

  3. Now this is the thread to end my posting embargo. I LOVE Christine and the Queens sooo much. I haven’t seen her (them?) live. (I missed Glasto in 16).

Huge praise from this thread, and actual crying at her gigs? Amazing. Please please  let her be at the farm ??

Yeah that's where my usage of it comes from. Same as calling someone a prick.

    ?.

Well it’s been a grand 6 weeks on this forum, I’ve really enjoyed it. Take care eFesters ??

I just had to look up "weapon" on urban dictionary. That's made me feel even older than the R+L lineup poster did

I’ve also now just looked it up and the urban dictionary definition is not the one that I know it by ?. Sorry @Gucci Piggy, the urban dictionary definition is actually a bit rude. To me it means someone who gets very smashed a lot/looses their friends/forgets large parts of a day/night out. You know, that friend who you need to keep an eye on a bit.

Yeah me neither but I had no idea what I was doing tbh.

I was there on my own because after The National I walked off with someone and like 10 mins later realised I was supposed to be letting it over to the JP for FJM so then I legged it. My friends just left me to it and went without me cos I was being annoying as fuck.

I ended up talking to a group of like 3 people at the back of the tent either before or after FJM who I got the impression were eFesters. All I remember is one of them was a woman wearing beetlejuice trousers.

Thankfully not me (altho I wasn’t on eFesters then tbf).

You sound like a bit of a weapon if I’m honest (no offence). Although my smashed self would probably love bumping into you on the farm.

Did you go to Glasto last year? Phoenix were sick but I was somehow so fucked that I walked off during like their 4th to last song thinking they'd finished. I got about 20 metres away from the JP tent before realising they were still playing, turned around and considered going back but for some reason just couldn't bring myself to go back over there so resumed walking away. Baffling tbh.

Yeah was there, and it was sick. Can’t believe you left.

Was also there in 2013 when they played the same slot on the Sunday. Couple of my best ever Glasto sets.

Had tickets to Ally Pally in Sept 17 but I was really ill on the day and didn’t make it. I’m not over that yet ?.

Be a while before they’re on the farm again.

I've seen Bastille a couple of times at GF. Full disclosure - I quite enjoyed it. Both times. So there!

I’m disappointed for you getting a downvote for this after your support of newbies earlier. Karma is having a day off it seems.

    I upvoted for balance.

Not to defend The 1975, but think it's better to develop your own taste, not just based on all that's said in here (by the more vocal folks)

Of course problem is that there's so much music to listen to. Many albums take a few listens to appreciate. Hate to admit it, but the new Muse has been growing a bit on me  also read some real positive reviews, that's why I haven't left it instantly. Still not like the first three albums of course.

    Noted.

Just to be clear though, I don’t actually like Muse. I might have given the album a cursory listen but that’s all.

I don’t actually like The 1975 either although I probably will listen to their new one so I can pretend to be relevant still.

Now if they’d have slagged off a Phoenix album then that would be a different matter entirely.

Surely a good reason NOT to wait and see what reaction it gets???? Much better to decide what you think and then come on here and call everyone who doesn't agree with you a c*nt  than let the most prolific posters convince you that all the bands you like are shit

???. I think you’ve nailed it there Sas.

    A lot.

Tbf I’m just listening to it and it is sick.

1975 are a bit meh aren’t they. Will no doubt give the album a few listens though. Although may wait to see the reaction on here. I can’t bring myself to listen to the Muse album yet after the derision it got.

  12. Sorry I should point out a small innacuracy in my post. It’s monthly listenERS not monthly listens. So it counts the number of individual users who listen to a particular artist in each rolling 28 day period (not if one person listens to a track 100 times).

Edit: the only person I can find with more monthly listeners than Gaga atm is Ariana Grande with 41 mil

  13. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone’s posts about who is bigger than who but thought the monthly listens on Spotify are an interesting guide for popularity as of right now (and I am in no way intending to stoke the fire with this info ?)

    Gaga 32 million

    Metallica 11 million

    Macca 10 million

    The Cure 6 million

    Arcade Fire 3 million

    Stormzy 3 million

    Kasabian 2 million

Robert Smith getting funky would be as awkward as watching me and @Woffy getting in a muddle over whether we're handshaking or fist bumping, and then one of us getting completely the wrong vibe and trying for a hug.

Did this actually happen IRL? I really hope it did.

Why is everyone thinking gaga now though? Is their any info to suggest this?

No we’ve no info that it’s going to be Gaga apart from maybe a slight hint on the BST forum that she might be a potential for there. For what it’s worth, I don’t think it’ll be her, but at the same time, we’ve no firm info about any act at the moment, for this third slot (if we believe the rumours that it’s no longer Macca - and again for what it’s worth, I actually do).

I would guess, and it’s only a guess, that they are approaching other artists but nothing has been agreed 100% yet. Jennifer (lead singer of Saltwater Sun) implied on twitter that they had approached an unusual solo artist “all I can say is I was really surprised, and I don’t think you’ll guess” but we may never find out who she was talking about as this person may turn it down.

I think a lot of people on here would love it to be Gaga which is why maybe there’s a lot of talk about her, plus there aren’t many seemingly sensible options to go against her. Those who think it is a weak booking obviously haven’t seen her  Super Bowl half time show.

Some people mention a comment about Emily saying “a couple of blokes” but in all honesty, none of us were there so we don’t really know the context of this comment or even whether Macca’s contract negotiations could have fallen through by then. I’ve looked all over the Internet for the recording of this interview or any more details but I just can’t find more than a small clip of it. Anyone else?

It therefore seems wide open to me atm.

Bleurgh, finished work a bit earlier than planned and had to kill time waiting for Mrs Q to finish her class, so decided it would be a good idea to do a second gym session today after squats and deadlifts this morning and do a 30minute HIIT session. Gym's got a track setup so it's rounds of sled drives and pulls, tyre flips, farmer's walks and burpees. Finished off with a 5 min tabata set on a skill mill, which is something the Spanish Inquisition would have come up with if they branched out into fitness equipment.

My legs are no longer on speaking terms with me.

Strong performance Mark (?). Hope your legs forgive you. I don’t know what a farmers walk is but maybe we should all be doing those as prep for June...

I’ve been to spin class (Digme Blackfriars for anyone who works in London), and was chuffed that the class instructor actually knew my name. I guess I’m a regular now ??. It’s the small victories.
