    Ah glad you’re there.

We had a fair few people on the case today for the E and D lot only managed to secure 4 tickets. Fairly brutal.

Who is on your must see list this year?

LCD Soundsystem. If i see them and nothing else, I’ll leave happy 😆
    Are they on your list?

I’m in!!!! Mate of ours got through pretty quickly.

I was still trying for some of the E and D team and didn’t get a sniff.

Including full sale and resales I think I’ve attempted about 13-14 times now and secured tickets once. Luckily I have friends with a better strike rate.

Glasto number 10, here we go!

Oh great news! Bet you’re buzzing

  3. Short notice but I’ve got 2 tickets to see Stornoway tonight in Folkstone - I’ll give these away for free to a good home, just bung a tenner to your favourite charity?

Theyre attached the the email so I think it’s as easy as just forwarding the email to you if anyone wants them.

Stornoway are one of my fav bands and I’m gutted but we’re in Tenerife so can’t complain.

Yes, another great venue for the area... went there for Homoelectric pride after party and Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) last year and LTJ Bukem earlier this year.  I don't know how old you are but it used to be one of my regular haunts back when it was Franks nightclub (I'm old lol)

Also old! But I grew up in Manchester. My husband is from Kent so that’s why we’re here.

FIS is a great little venue and the guys who run it are bring some really interesting talent to the area.

Ha well you and my sister might be the only ones to live there and it’s in the back of beyond and a pain to get to … if you see someone in the village walking 2 labradoodles  that’s her 🙂

Your sister lives in my village??? Fair chance I know her then.  We also have a labradoodle too 😆

My worst ones this year have been the All Points East days - literally having to leave half way through the headliners to get back to St P from Victoria Park!

Margate is definitely exceeding the expectations on the music front these last few years.  I was involved with the Save Dreamland Campaign back in the day trying to ensure it stayed open as an amusement park - never in my wildest expectations did I expect it to turn into a music venue and to bring the artists to the town that it has.  After some investment wobbles and then covid closures it's now solid and has a bright future.

We just need the Winter Gardens back and town has a great offering again. Both of these situations were caused by our completely incompetent council.

Anyway, that's quite off topic for this post!

P.S. love Ramsgate Music Hall - been to some great gigs there.

This is great news re Dreamlands, I’ve really enjoyed my gigs there. Winter Gardens opening again would be good!

Hope you’ve managed to get yourself down to Faith in Strangers too.

  7. Fwiw I thought it was amazing , one of the best none Glastonbury gigs I’ve been to. We were against the railings of the speaker about 3/4 back and it was fine there. Tender was a moment

  8. Best headliner for me in 9 Glastonburys. 20 of my mates, loads of singing, quite a few tears, great happy crowd around us who we made friends with,  one of my mates proposed 💍 to massive cheers- it had the absolute lot. I’m still not down from the high and I was sober

For me, Saturday was definitely a bit too hot. It must have been about 40 degrees in BBC Introducing when Vlure where on. My own tent became pretty unbearable as soon as sun had risen over the Pylon tree line (yes, I know, I need an F&B).

Overall though, it was managable... Just. I didnt miss any acts due to the heat. Not being massively hungover helped, and drinking lots of water (and G&T) to keep hydrated. Also probably went to bed a bit earlier than previous years to get some sleep before it got baking.

Really regret not packing lipbalm with an SPF though 😕

I could literally have written this myself. Even the lip balm too - ouchy.
Not complaining though - would take that same weather again in a heart beat , probably would just plan to stay in one place on the Saturday though rather than try and move around which was daft
