  1. I'd never seen those THC vape things before but someone offered me a toke on the Thursday and suddenly I was seeing them everywhere. Thought they were just normal vapes. It's interesting how a bit of ignorance can change your perspective of what's going on.
  2. If there is a time and a place for German schlager at Glastonbury, 2024 is it. Pyramid, third down, Helene Fischer -
  3. Around the time of the sale and resale you might see some threads on here asking people to join up, swap details (reg. numbers, phone numbers etc), and help each other get tickets. There's a bit of trust involved and a whole dollop of luck, but they've proved very or semi successful the last few years.
  4. I think it's the only time I've seen such flagrant advertising in a crowd at Glasto. For the life of me though, I can't remember which band it was for.
  5. I would absolutely write Bryan Adams alongside Celine Dion, Weeknd, Drake, as being very popular, but shite.
  6. Alicia Keys and Annie Lennox in a collaboration. Maybe Alicia is too big for that slot. AL would be great though. Think she's given up touring, but could do a one off maybe.
  7. You know what, I had no idea the Weeknd or Drake were from Canada. Maple syrup and Michael J Fox are all good in my book tho, fwiw.
  8. Elton > Stevie Wonder > Stones > Macca.
  9. I'd add the Weeknd to my list of massively popular acts that I can't fathom why they're so popular. Drake, Weeknd, Celine Dion...
  10. I guess I can just call it Sale Group XX now as well seeing as it's the main sale. I'm prob about as excited for setting up the group as I am the actual sale right now.
  11. Think I'm fairly relaxed about it all right now, although this might change once I start setting up Resale Group 5 again, seeing who's interested, who's helping out etc. Last time we had a 45-50% success rate and the data-loving side of me can't wait to try and beat this!
  12. Except, the festival clearly did feel the crowd control, stewarding, schedule needed fixing from 2022>2023. And the renaming of the JPT>Woodsies. And the rearrangement/introduction of the Levels. And the rejig of the walkways. And adding CarHenge. And taking away Cinemarmaggeddon. If the festival and it's public didn't think of things to tweak or change, the festival would have stood still and lost it's edge a long long time ago. In other words; there has been a net positive from change/progress at Glasto (as well as in society as a whole).
  13. I mean, that does sound quite political. Welfare in general is always under government consideration, so too is the health of the country and the environment. But I've got no problem with more veggie options on offer, even though I was disappointed with my bao bun veggie burger. It was 12 quid of air and a couple of measly morsels of veggie burger.
  14. The app felt so rushed this year. I don't think I used it at all. The line-up page needed a zoom out function. A food vendor app would be golden.
  15. Do you mean the Qataris? I agree in general though. It reminds me of all the companies that display the pride flag during pride month except in certain areas/countries. It's like, do these conglomerates actually care about pride month or do they just care about money? Imo, it's the latter.
  16. This reminds me of the request they made before Elton came on to stand up and make more space for people. I've never seen that warning before. It's a shame it only came on about 15-mins before the start of the show - they should have done it 45-minutes before. In fairness, people did stand up and fold up their chairs - not that it really meant much of a difference because no one extra really came into our area, everyone just had more space to move about in, at least where I was. Maybe introduce a ban on trolleys, bike trailers, camping chairs after 7pm? At least in the main fields. f**k knows why people would want to bring kids to Glastonbury under 7/8 though. I saw some of the poor sods trying to pull their trolleys around, and whilst they look beautiful and cool and that, they were trying to negotiate Greenpeace field during the morning yoga, or get past the Fatboy Slim crowd. I mean, seriously, as a parent of two toddlers myself, I wouldn't in a million years bring the kids along, looks an absolute ballache/limit of my enjoyment. And after seeing some of the views of the stage of people further back, I think the flag situation has gotten out of control. During an act on West Holts, two women walked in with actual advertising (coffee or something) and they weren't usual rectangular flags like a national flag, they were the long top to bottom flags one half of the flag pole, effectively creating a wall of flag for anyone stood behind them. I mean, some of this is because people are so well prepared these days. It's the same as when people are bringing in their gear and each group has at least one four-wheeler trolley, or a sack trolley. A decade or so ago, this was all very rare to see.
  17. I mean, wrap-around or not, it would be nicer to have slightly bigger screens. I don't think performers would necessarily get lost, depending on their stage presence. If they've got zero stage presence, then I could see them getting lost I guess. But several bands had a lot of visuals on the whole weekend - at some point I wondered if they had all visited the same studio, they looked so similar, and if you've got visuals, you might as well have the best gear to promote them on.
  18. At a first pass, there's plenty on there to keep me interested in going next year, lol. That RTJ vs PJH clash is horrific. Madonna vs Chems vs Idles is tough as well. But I would welcome this come May 2024.
  19. Yeah, like 1:30am in the morning. I was at Woodsies until 11:45 and wanted to see ESB, but no way was I prepared to walk all the way to SEC for a one-off band. It's a shame, could easily lump a few bands together of that genre and whack them on Woodsies or Other during the day/early evening.
  20. On the second point as well, there were a few of the mini bars, for example near the Glade and between Silver Hayes and Woodsies that were only selling cans, but they would decant them into a single use cup. It made absolutely no sense. Just give us the can if that's what's on offer.
  21. Does seem like there could be a nice fit there if they're looking to fill CH/WG with a proper line-up next year. Just need to make sure they don't put oversized bands on there for the Wed/Thurs when there's no competition across the rest of the site.
  22. The screen comparison is kind of a bit, dare I say it, embarrassing? The Reading/Leeds ones look 3x bigger. Also... pretty sure the back of my head is in this photo somewhere, ha!
  23. Could definitely be an option, although could create a lot of extra admin for SeeTickets or Glastonbury? If people had to choose three options they'd surely choose closer departure points though. Perhaps it's wishful thinking though, people have a knack of finding ways of gaming any system.
  24. Put them on barges on the Whitelake River! 😆
  25. Perhaps there's little appetite on the Pyramid during the day, but Nova Twins, the Hu, Skindred, GnR were all well-attended across other stages when I saw them. They're all too big not to be on the main stages though, but with Earache's Truth Stage takeover, for example, there could be a dedicated hard rock/metal stage the entire weekend and not affect anything too much. It wouldn't even have to be all day, just say in the 9pm-3pm window each night. I didn't end up staying for Ho99o9 or Alt Blk Era to see if there were big crowds, but I think there's enough people interested in general.
