Incredible. I feel high still and the only stimulant I had yesterday was an espresso with lunch. Everything was perfectly orchestrated and pulled off. Sort of event it'll take a while to digest. Should be said it was an amazing stage show beyond anything else. You could tell how much thought and effort had gone into it. If you want that kind of show, with record sales and streaming income for most artists being pretty poor, ultimately you're going to have to pay more than your average ticket price. With hindsight some of the whinging about ticket prices now seems a bit ridiculous and perhaps a little entitled too.

I'm going. It's a pricey ticket for sure but the debut show by one of the most innovative and exciting acts around. It's more than just another gig. You'll pay about the same to stand and watch Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer play slower versions of their thirty year old songs around the country this summer.

Ladbrokes live were giving out free tickets to all days last year. They've been on central tickets in recent years as well for the majority of days. Not to mention competitions that you were essentially guaranteed to win. If Stormzy and The Strokes couldn't shift enough full price tickets do you really think Death Cab for Cutie are in with a shot?

It's going to be great seeing LCD, Postal Service/Death Cab and Loyle Carner for about five/ten quid each when the time inevitably comes and they have shifted barely any tickets. Anyone paying full price for these is getting mugged off. We all know what happens with APE.

I've got tickets for next year. I'd love to see War On Drugs back. They headlined last time I went and rounded off the Sunday very well. Belle and Sebastian look to be doing stuff next year so those two would be my dream headliners and then someone else. I'd like Four Tet but I don't know what he's doing.

Is Lorde enough of a draw to headline? Her last arena tour here sold poorly and when I saw her at APE she topped a respectably attended but not rammed second stage.

The fyre festival comparisons are a bit of a stretch. That event had genuine safety concerns for attendees. In this case a few acts cancelled because of a global pandemic.

Giles Peterson was added yesterday, not sure there is going to be another lineup addition.
