  1. I didn't. I was making fun of your "please be more polite about Israeli drone strikes" approach.
  2. Who said they do? Don't think I did friend.
  3. I'd love to go to Gaza (well I wouldn't but hey) and talk to a Palestinian family, who have lost their home, members of their family and have been forced into a refugee camp which the Israeli's are bombing, about "micro-aggressions". 🙄
  4. Kate Osamor didn't say anything Antisemitic. The lesson of the Holocaust was meant to be "never again" for everyone not just some people. Diane was making a comment about passing albeit in a clumsy way. Nothing Antisemitic about it and she swiftly apologised for any misunderstanding. Had she been white everybody would have been falling over themselves to welcome her back in the party. Steve Reed and Neil Coyle both said much worse things and are back in the party. Starmer has a problem with Black women. A lot of white men do sadly.
  5. There are no Black women in the Labour Shadow Cabinet and almost a third of the MPs elected as Labour but sitting now as independents are Black women. Clearly Starmer and the party have a misogynoir issue.
  6. The guardian newspaper does. If they don't have a female headliner their columnists have their articles about a diversity crisis ready to go to whip up a confected outrage. I find it patronising and an example of liberal tokenism personally.
  7. Not the strongest and some odd, in my view, stage placing but not bad. I think it's a reasoned choice of headliners in that you have an established British pop star, an international act on the rise and Coldplay as something for the normies.
  8. She'll never get the whip back, like Kate Osamor she's too Black to find justice in the Labour party. Best result is she stands in Hackney as an independent and thrashes whatever Wes Streeting clone the Labour party stand there.
  9. Hoyle is so far up Starmer's arse he's sucking his tonsils.
  10. Diane used to be my MP. Absolutely brilliant public servant and not a nasty bone in her body. Amount of abuse she gets is a damning indictment of what a racist shithole England is.

    Coldplay

I buy a white tshirt before the festival and write Glastonbury on the front and the bands I've seen on the back in marker pen.
  12. Probably less a case of age and more background. Finsbury Park area has always had a significant Irish population so the venue makes sense in that regard.
  13. https://rallyrallyrally.co.uk/programme Lineup is here, pretty good I'd say. Seems a bit of a gamble having it same day as Field Day with some obvious cross over appeal. Personally Rally is more my vibe than Field Day now so will be attending.
  14. Oof that's weak. Big supporter of Green Man and what they do but not much wow factor in that lineup. You can only book what is available though I suppose.
  15. Watching her do this ridiculous speaking tour of America sort of reminds you that everything Sunak does or says has to be put into the context that he lost a leadership election to Liz Truss.
  16. A lot of MPs think any interaction with the public is a threat. The political class increasingly believes itself entirely unaccountable. Glad that over this issue we are seeing direct action to remind them who they work for.
  17. I'm concerned about Wes Streeting. Over the last few days he's been saying sensible things (citizens assemblies are good and Israel has gone too far in killing civilians) and appearing vaguely likeable. This is very out of character.
  18. In fairness I think it was obvious that Self-Esteem was a replacement for another act that let them down.
  19. Based on last year roughly and with the assumption of an east stage, west stage and tent operating: Ten acts announced of probably about fifteen slots spread across the main two stages and the tent. Two of the acts are obviously heading the main stage so can be put there straight off. What is up in the air is that the west stage and tent headliners don't usually clash or only overlap slightly with the east stage (the main stage) headliner. With essentially two headliners it's unclear if that will be the case with this day. So probably five more acts to slot in the bill on the three main stages plus a DJ line up for the six music stage and about ten to twelve smaller acts including more DJ sets for the smaller stages on the assumption that they have those three stages again.
  20. Fair point but I canvassed for Labour for many years and international politics including the Middle East did come up and all sorts of views on that, by no means limited to a pro-Palestine position. I've heard both criticism and praise for Labour's international stances over the years. I would also say what people are willing to say to a canvasser or a journalist in public don't necessarily reflect their feelings or mean they don't care about something. People are scared of talking about Palestine because of a climate of fear and intimidation and concern that a reasonable objection to the Israeli offensive constitutes Antisemitism. Also let's look at it another way outside of the narrow by election context. People aren't talking about Labour's recent Antisemitism fiasco. Is this something to be celebrated? David Baddiel might have a point with the title of his book "Jews don't count" in that case.
  21. Lee Harpin, when not hacking the phones of murdered children, is essentially a client journalist for the right wing of the Labour party.
  22. Graham Jones is firmly on the Labour right so lol
  23. It's funny to me to see the Labour spokes person say "Keir Starmer has changed Labour so that it is unrecognisible from the party of 2019". When you're mired in an Antisemitism scandal there's a certain arrogance to saying that. Chutzpah you might say.
  24. The thing with Galloway is he does no work as a constituency MP. Rochdale is basically left without an MP if he wins as happened when he's won in seats before. He's absolute worst case scenario really.
