  1. But booking Maneskin and Calvin Harris is good curation?... not that I have an issue with them being booked as there is plenty of other acts to see. Primavera should have no limits and surprise us. Booking The National every other year is worse (in my opinion) than booking Liam Gallagher or Coldplay once ever.
  2. Do any Primavera festival attendees go to more commercial festivals? I'm going to Isle of Wight festival for first time next year. I do Primavera to mainly discover new music, but then like to do other festivals with acts I'd go and see on their own tours. With Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys and Green Day headlining IOW, I'm more than happy. 3 of the best live acts (for me) headlining is brilliant. It can get pretty snobby on here regarding who is "worthy" of being at Primavera, but I feel any act should be welcome at Primavera. It's the most diverse festival out there and no act should be off limits. Sugababes at Victorious Festival in 2022 was my highlight of that particular festival btw. Gorrillaz the best at Primavera the same year. Car Seat Headrest for me in 2019. I hope Primavera continues to book a diverse range of acts and even reaches for artists that would not be considered previously. I'm bored of seeing The National on every other year of the line up. Luckily there will always be something else I can see.
  3. I did the week in Porto last year for £400 all in (flights, amazing apartment and Primavera ticket).
  4. A heads up to anyone flying from London. Just booked flights with British Airways from Heathrow for £204 return. 6am out on the Weds and 9pm on way back on the Sunday. Return leg was only £39 (plus £17 for selecting seat in advance)! Cheapest with easyJet was about £350 from Gatwick.
  5. I'm impressed by how much time is being spent discussing a band that's not even playing at PS24. What acts on the line up can people on here recommend for a good party atmosphere? I'm going with some friends who probably won't delve into the undercard beforehand, but want to take them to see some music that they can dance to without having to know the back catalogue to enjoy.
  6. Is it safe to assume Pulp, Vampire Weekend and Justice won't clash? All on the main stages?
  7. Anyone else plagued by the South Western Railway advert with the pigeon that makes it almost impossible to read this forum on a phone? Literally takes up the whole screen and can only scroll to view two lines of text at the most.
  8. I cracked. Got caught up in the rumours of this thread and the hype from the announcement of the line-up announcement. Ticket bought for next year after telling myself I'd wait until after I've seen the line up. Continuing my Primavera run since 2010. Also... I hope Kylie is there. Was at Glastonbury in 2005 when she was supposed to headline. Saw her emotional and thoroughly entertaining legends slot there in 2019. Definitely worthy of being on the Primavera line-up if she is on there and a must-see for me personally.
  9. Gutted too that he dropped out in 2013, but luckily saw him in 2018 at Royal Albert Hall. Was looking frail, but was great to see him live.
  10. I've not been to Porto since 2015, so will miss the old stage in the woods and the more relaxed vibe of the festival if it is now overcrowded. Looking at the position of the new main stage on the festival map over Google maps, it does look like a bigger and wider area compared to the old main stage position, so hope that helps. Can't wait to go back to Porto after having done Barca every edition from 2016-2022. Just hope they still do those awesome steak baguettes at the festival...can anyone confirm that was still there?
  11. Very happy with this lineup. Glad I chose Porto over Barca for next year. Only costing £400 all in for flights, ticket and 6 nights stay in Porto from the Monday.
  12. You can buy day tickets now. Lucky dip!
  13. Has the Wednesday been confirmed as being at the park or could it be city gigs instead?
  14. The thing is, Porto is no further away from Madrid than Barcelona is. Bands wouldn't need a full day gap in between would they to play Porto before or after a Madrid show? But regardless of this Porto lost out on some big names that Barcelona had in previous years. I remember being at Porto and missing out on Barcelona's QOTSA, Arcade Fire and Black Keys in 2014/15. Not sure why they didn't have those bands across both festivals when they are only a week apart.
  15. Talking of price, there's less than half acts at Porto compared to Barca/Madrid including the ciutat shows, plus the venue is smaller so costs far less in that respect too. Porto price now at the level Barca was pre-pandemic so don't think that necessarily means we won't get any big names carrying over. They did well last year with headliners carrying over. Certainly better compared to previous years where Interpol seemed to be the biggest name one year!
  16. 7th December apparently. Mentioned on the Porto thread! Not sure who their source was though. I'm doing Porto for the 3rd time next year (went 2014 and 2015), so eager to know who'll be there too!
  17. Going back to Porto next year for first time since 2015. Hope Ezra Furman does the festival as see they're playing on the Monday in Porto at a club venue. Also spotted Pup on the ciutat lists. Saw they at the Roundhouse. A lot of fun live. Would be good if they do Porto.
  18. Why would Elton be at BST? He did that earlier this year... Or did I miss something?
  19. they came up as sold out before the sale time. Still showing as Sold Out, but 2022 ticket holders can still get tickets
  20. Porto tickets weirdly showing as Sold Out for 2023 Early Birds on the tickets section
  21. Yeah, the bridge needs to be made available to everyone again. Was more time consuming than I'd imagined it would be going to the Bits area via the long route. Would definitely spread people across the site better. Also a shame to see they'll be sticking with the side by side stages. Worked better when the stages were facing and definitely don't agree it was safer. It was far worse in the respect with people piling into and out of the same area. Also, they may have had less people disturbing other people watching bands they liked if they'd made the gap between sets longer if they're sticking with side by side. Too many people wandering in just waiting for the next act and not giving a shit about those watching the current act that's on.
  22. Having done Porto Primavera since 2014 and 2015, so planning to go back for 2023! Need a change of scenery from Barcelona which I've done all the other years since 2010! How was the Porto 2022 edition? As good as previous years? Was it overcrowded as someone on the Barcelona forum mentioned?
  23. When we got to Pet Shop Boys, about 2 songs in, it looked like the whole of the Other Stage field was full as crowd was full all the way up to the food stalls on the edge. I managed to be tall enough to peer over though and it looked like there may be a space behind the sound stage so we walked through the crowd. Once we got to the wood chippings bit there was one huge massive space with no one in it. I could still see most of the stage and could have run around flayling my arms about without being anywhere near to hitting anyone.
  24. BBC now forecasting rain all day tomorrow... possibly...
  25. I bought new wellies, a waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers for 2019. Guess i have to bring them this year as my sacrifice. The wellies are very weighty though...
