They did the Pyramid pit and the Kidzfield with straw but there was talk amongst the crew of dodgy contaminated woodchip that would all have to come up again afterwards and if that was the case then you can see why thats not the best option.

I saw some odd stuff in some of the wood chips brightly coloured bits that looked like plastic.

  2. Has been the case there has been a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) each year for as long as I remember. Some one or other usually gets prosecuted for going in to the airspace each year. Think military are usually exempt but can't say for sure. There are rules against flying over open air assemblies are as follows.

    Flying over open air assemblies
Except with the written permission of the CAA, an aircraft shall not fly over an organised open-air assembly of more than 1,000 persons below the higher of the following heights:

    (i) 1,000 feet; or

(ii) such height as would permit the aircraft to land clear of the assembly in the event of a power unit failure.

    (f) Landing and taking off near open air assemblies
An aircraft shall not land or take-off within 1,000 metres of an

organised, open-air assembly of more than 1,000 persons except:

    (i) at an aerodrome, in accordance with procedures notified by the CAA; or

(ii) at a landing site which is not an aerodrome, in accordance with procedures notified by the CAA and with the written permission of the organiser of the assembly.

However there are extra rules for Glastonbury due to its size and number of people attending 3,100' and 2.5 miles.

  3. Ok I am going to put my head above the parapet and say what I would like to(mostly because I am a bit drunk).

I did not vote Tory, maybe I will at some point in the future, maybe I won't, I have voted Labour in the past, but if I did it would be for idealogical reasons. I am a liberation, I won't go in to my own personal politics as that is some what off the topic, but I fully understand the background at Glastonbury, and understand the reasons for the Idealogical standing of the festival, and am not surprised or upset by any of the things in Shangri-La or the Leftfeild, I am fully open to honest debate and some of the comments that have been expressed here are quite hard to stomach "the only good Tory is a Dead Tory"... Seriously guys sort it out....

  4. Potentially a Police drone?

Don't think so it was a bit on the small side for a police one and as far as I could see would not have been of much use for the police then and there (no over crowding).

  5. Did anyone else see a drone (DJI phantom) flying over Westholts one evening? Would love to see the footage if it is on youtube anywhere?

PS. it would be a good idea to keep your self anonymous if flying a drone as it could be a bit of an issue with the authorities.

  6. Thanks to all the eFesters that bought a log candle from me. Genuinely lovely to meet all of you. Before this year I only knew one.

Top moment on the Tuesday night, managed to get off site and then back on into the CV fields to drop one off for an Efester who haden't arrived yet. CV field East. Drove around looking for an easily spottable place to drop one off so he could collect it. Found a nice camp with a huge Manx flag at the top of a field. Asked if it was ok to leave it there.....The top man said " Oh, its a log candle, I've seen them on eFestivals, nice to meet you!"  Couldn't believe it. It was collected and all went like clockwork.

Sold some but gave away and burnt more ourselves. Well worth it and had great fun doing so.

Told everyone that they are called 'Somerset Log Candles' as they were invented on The Levels in Somerset as fires couldn't be built on flooded land. Sorry about that :)

Thanks for mine, I was in a bit of a state when I picked mine up, but thanks was great on the Saturday nigh.

Also was it you who had one attached to a pan on their head on the Sunday night wandering around the Green fields ?

  7. my cousin was convinced he saw jupiter/venus over the festival.

However, the highlight had to the parachutist who landed and was allowed to stay in the festival!!

Yep Venus and Jupiter were very bright over the festival on Friday early evening around twilight. Venus was the bright one.

  8. Nothing taken but tent had been rummaged on at least two occasions, maybe another time but possibly just a drunken late night return., neighbours had booze and cigs taken from their tents. Most people around us were sensible enough not to leave anything valuable. We were in Dairy.
