  1. Favourite thing to do with the EOTR line up is to go straight to the line up section of the website and scroll all the way down to the bottom covering up the acts and then going up from there one by one.  Line up always looks better that way and that way I’m not put off the whole thing when I see IDLES as the first name 😉

Is The The based on their September dates or are they about closer to the festival?

They have a European festival date in late August as I saw it earlier but now I can’t find it ha!  I don’t think they’re that likely tbh  but was trying to think of more an unexpected name.  I’m also thinking/hoping Air could do one of their Moon Safari shows as a headline set, again v unlikely probs.

  3. I’m sure this will be widely inaccurate but whatever…

The Smile | Jessie Ware | The The | Jesus & Mary Chain

Ezra Collective | Beth Gibbons | Gruff Rhys | Tindersticks | Osees | Alvvays | Grandaddy | The Last Dinner Party | Yard Act | Barry Can’t Swim | Cymande

BC Camplight, Metz, Bombino, The Mary Wallopers, Lisa O’Neill, Pigs x 7, Yaya Bey, Half Moon Run, Geese, Crack Cloud, Sherelle, Fabiana Palladino, Oscar Jerome, Wednesday, Woods, caroline, Bar Italia, Blondshell, SLIFT, Bdrmm, Kara Jackson, Mokoomba, Model/Actriz, Lucinda Chua, Bitchin Bajas, Heartworms, Kneecap, Bala Desejo, Corridor, Blue Bendy, Lambrini Girls, L’Rain, Adult Jazz, Divorce, Alogte Oho and His Sounds of Joy, Chalk, Peaness, Hotline TNT, Ducks Ltd., Muirrean Bradley, Automotion, CVC, Los Wembler’s de Iquitos, Kathryn Joseph, Tapir!, Patriarchy, Orions Belte, Brighde Chaimbeul, Maruja, Ugly, Shovel Dance Collective, The Orchestra (For Now), HTRK, Ynys, Borough Council, Humour, Beachwood Sparks, Taxi Kebab, Cerys Hafana, Whitelands, YHWH Nailgun, Trout, Christian Music.

Keeping everything crossed Sampha isn't on that line-up. Decided they'd be absolutely brilliant at Green Man after reading their name a few pages back.

Since been announced for We Out Here so think he’s very unlikely now.

  5. Looks like The Decemberists are gearing up for an announcement today. I wonder if EOTR and Moseley Folk Festival have had to wait to announce their line up until after this?  Though All Points East obviously didn’t…

If they are one of the main three headliners, who out of the most touted options do we think they’ll be instead of? Slowdive?

Also can’t help but feel Idles might potentially sneak in as one of the headliners.

  6. Have The Decemberists ever played a U.K. or European festival?  If they have, I think it was ages ago.

Im surprised by their APE billing tbh.  I didn’t think they were that big at all outside of the US but maybe it’s the fact that they are quite a rare booking outside of the U.K. Past U.K. dates have been at Academy type venues for the most part.

  7. Okay how about…

Big Thief | Lankum | Slowdive | Sleater Kinney

Baxter Dury | Godspeed You! Black Emperor | Squid | Mdou Moctar | The Decemberists | Nation of Language | Two Shell | Fat White Family | Sea Power | Protomartyr

James Holden, Bill Ryder Jones, The Lemon Twigs, Allo Darlin’, deathcrash, Moor Mother, Flamingods, Nala Sinephro, Superchunk, English Teacher, Anais Mitchell, Lonnie Holley, Sofia Kourtesis, Curtis Harding, Zola Jesus, Sheer Mag, Lost Girls, Omni, Kali Malone, Show Me The Body, The Tubs, Backxwash, Mary Lattimore, Bess Atwell, MC Yallah, Fat Dog, Mary Halvorson, Mui Zyu, The Bug Club, Tara Clerkin Trio, William Doyle, Blue Lake, Lilo, Dos Monos, Astrid Sonne, Thus Love, Mary In The Junkyard, University, White Flowers, Butch Kassidy, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, THE NONE, Pencil, The Itch.

  8. The Tubs, Superchunk and Deeper all added to Canela Party.  They all seem quite likely for EOTR or Green Man.

It seems that Moseley Folk Festival is also announcing on Wednesday.  I think they sometimes share a headliner with EOTR right?  Maybe The Decemberists are doing both.

  9. New music from Beth Gibbons (Portishead) “very soon” according to her Instagram.  As mentioned a few posts back, GM started following her recently on Instagram…

Would make for an amazing Mountain Stage sub under The Smile.

  10. Hoping to go to this.  Line up last year was pretty cool on the whole but I couldn’t make it.

Fabiana Palladino is doing this according to Songkick (as well as Green Man).

Yep, I think someone at BoTW messed up. I contacted the Barbican and they confirmed the shows are booked with tickets likely to go on sale in the next couple of weeks.

2+2 = 5, but I think this isn't to take the gloss of an EOTR announcement next week.

Surely Magnetic Fields aren’t going to play again so soon, particularly as they are a big act for EOTR.

If we’re getting someone playing the Barbican around EOTR, then please let it be Cornelius!

  12. Think Sleater Kinney, Lankum, Slowdive, and Big Thief sounds about right and very good for headliners.

Big slots likely for: Mdou Moctar, Baxter Dury, The Decemberists, Nation of Language, James Holden and Fat White Family.

Predicting Two Shell for one of the late night DJ Big Top acts.

The Decembrists feel like a great fit for GM or EOTR. Looks like they’re only down for APE atm.

There was some hint about or reference to The Decemberists in EOTR’s socials I think when last year’s line up ended so they were kinda rumoured to be doing EOTR 2024 from then, but them being added to APE makes it much more likely I think.  Could be a fairly big act for EOTR - maybe a Thursday headliner or Garden headliner.
