  1. wait early bird AND general sale starts tomorrow!? Why?? Better get my act together in case it sells out even quicker than last year!
  2. 3 BCNR shows 15/16 December in London. Bush Hall. One is a matinee show. Available now on dice using the presale code THINNINGWHISTLE.
  3. Would like to add Beth Orton to my 2022 wishlist. Loving the new album.
  4. Payment plans will be available for early bird tickets.
  5. Line up coming before the year’s up?
  6. Very excited for the new Beths album tomorrow. Really hope we get them back to GM. If The Beths and Alvvays are both there I will be in indie/dream pop heaven.
  7. Bjork PJ Harvey, FKA Twigs Sudan Archives, Kero Kero Bonito/Cryalot, Jockstrap, Kelsey Lu, L’Rain.
  8. https://amp.theguardian.com/music/2022/sep/11/nick-cave-on-music-grief-and-spirituality-faith-hope-carnage Interview is worth reading, if just for this very emotional extract:
  9. New Weyes Blood! Mountain Stage please!
  10. Sudan Archives was booked for 2020 but didn’t get re-booked. Really hope she comes back next year. New album is sooo good.
  11. I personally wouldn’t care if it went. I did see someone in there on the Thursday and had a great time though. It’s a really popular area so I think it would be disappointing for a lot of people if it was removed.
  12. Surprise Gilla Band show next week in London. Tickets on sale tomorrow via Dice.
  13. Maybe they’ll try to get Bjork back, seeing as they don’t seem to mind repeating headliners.
  14. Just need like 3 good bands and it’s already decent value!
  15. Yeah I think that sub slot at APE suggests they’re just at the right level for a GM, even if it was a while back now. Could see it happening and think it would be a good booking as they haven’t played in the U.K. very often in the last 5 years at all, if not longer.
  16. What do people think to Yeah Yeah Yeahs headlining? Are they too big? Not really GM’s style? Do you like them? The reason I have thought about it a lot is because when they first announced their come back either last year or the year before, the GM band booker followed them on Twitter. In the past, Twitter follows have been a fairly reliable indicator than a band has or is going to be booked. I’m not a huge fan of theirs but I like them enough to be interested, and I think it would be a good booking. I have a soft spot for them as Gold Lion came out just as I was properly getting into music and it’s one of the first songs I can remember really getting into. I also count Skeletons among my favourite songs of all time. They’ve also got a handful of huge songs like Maps, Y Control, Cheated Hearts, Zero and Heads Will Roll. Thoughts?
  17. Stella Donnelley and Julia Jacklin back please. Both with great albums out recently, particularly Julia’s.
  18. Les Savy Fav and Crack Cloud (and others) confirmed for Canela Party 23. Yes please!!
  19. For reference, the below is a list of non-UK European festivals worth keeping an eye on for potential GM bookings as the first few acts for these festivals start getting announced later this year/early next year: Paredes de Coura Pukkelpop Lowlands Route du Rock Canela Party Flow Festival Oya Festival Off Festival Haldern Pop Festival SonicBlast From memory I think Paredes often announces a few acts quite early on and also some of the Scandinavian ones like Flow and Oya. There's probably a few others but I think these are the main ones. Weirdly, a lot of GM acts were on the bill for This Ain't No Picnic this year in California which is the bank holiday weekend so potentially worth looking out for that one as well.
  20. Broken Social Scene were down for GM 2019 but they had to pull out. They weren’t headliners but they were high up the bill.
  21. Quietly confident about Sigur Ros personally.
  22. This is a random guess for the first two main lines of the first poster drop, if that wasn’t clear!
  23. Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Sigur Ros / Pavement / Bonobo Low, Alvvays, Thee Oh Sees, The Staples Jr. Singers, Jane Weaver, Built to Spill, Squid, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Japanese Breakfast, Cymande.
