seeing only this last day selling, proves that we're right : the 2024 line up is really weak.

We knew it, we said it, and now the "big sziget brains" can realize it.

Usually, when bookers f**ked a line-up up (is this correct english lol ?), do they get fired ? because, well, 2024 will remain in everyones' heads, but not for the 30th anniversary lol...

While I completely agree the lineup is weak AF, full of (cheaper) solo artists, etc., I guess it is not about bookers doing a bad job, but just low budget thing. That's it for this money. If they could book someone exclusive, they would. As well it is a year of only a few proper headliners touring through Europe so that doesn't help either.

Sziget is evidently more leaning into electronics and trying to win over a younger audience, they offered 21&Under ticket for a reason and it may save this edition, while there will be less and less "regulars". Sziget is changing rapidly, organizers surely know they can't compete with some festivals anymore and they will try to go down a different path (i hope this expression makes any sense)

  2. This year i won't make it to Sziget, been there all last editions since 2019. This year will be more about family time for me:))

About the lineup: To me it's giving me "lower budget" vibes. Less live bands and more electronic acts (actually DJs part of lineup is very strong) is where this fest is going. No big and expensive headliners such as Edd Sheeran etc. Undercards are average at best as well. With lower prices and under 21 tickets they are going more after youngers, i belive.

Pretty much all of confirmed headliners were or would be subhead in previous years. It seems in this part of Europe most of festivals are struggling, just check out Exit lineup, terrible.

For everyone going, i hope organization will be perfect and the whole amazing Sziget experience will remain as good as ussualy, it's what makes this festival special and still worth going at this point.

    Peace out.

You have : Stormzy, Sam Smith, Aurora, Crystal FIghters, Grandson, Becky Hill, Tomlinson, Big Thief, Fontaines D.C, Yard Act, Wednesday, Joker Out, Blondshell, Pip Blom, Zoe Wees, Warhaus, Dagny. (17) of 35.

This is where i stand: Electronic / non-electronic ratio aside, this list of live artist (so far) is quite disappointment for such a festival.

Also realistically - unless Sziget's REALLY taking an L this year, we're looking at:

4 headliners (Stormzy potentially co-head a la Lorde/Macklemore?) + 2 sub-heads in Becky Hill and Louis Tomlinson right?

Something like that. Despite i'm still disappointed, i think Sam, Fred and Garrix will do well and aren't really weak headliners.

Stormzy on the other hand feels a bit forced as headliner, but might be the "Lorde 2023" co-head case. Either way, that day needs another strong name.

I'm not sure about Becky, on webpage and posters she is not listed as a top name, and i don't think she is bigger as Aurora for example, at least not outside UK. That makes me think she is not sub.

Interesting is that Four Tet is being listed as 6th biggest name just after Louis. Maybe there is something to the Skrilex idea.

    UPDATE:

The National & The Gaslight Anthem - 24 June

    Hozier & Paolo Nutini - 25 June

The Smashing Pumpkins - 26 June

No info for VB & Sleaford Mods

It makes me optimistic that there is quite a lot yet to come, looks like we might be getting solid undercards. Headliner + Hozier + Paolo Nutini would be considered a strong day for INmusic.
