  1. Sparks gig from the last time. View from the Primavera stage.
  2. He's a big guy and he's usually standing on the left hand side. He got a shout-out at the last Idles gig: "Fucking hell, it's Big Jeff!"
  3. Can confirm 100%. Saw her last week. Didn't hear her singing, just saw her.
  4. Yup. Fond memories of watching Drive-By Truckers at Ray-Ban under umbrellas. First Primavera, and the only rain in all the time I've been going. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast, be prepared.
  5. Just amazing at the last Primavera, love to see her again.
  6. Hope you all find something. This is something I've been wondering about wrt Primavera, that the growth in the overseas visitors (like me) also coincided with the availability of accommodation through sites like Booking and Airbnb. Now that Barcelona is starting to crack down, it could be that Primavera becomes harder for foreigners unless they're able to throw a lot of cash at it.
  7. No, but the performer remains a human being and I don't think it's acceptable to keep performing when people are getting badly hurt right in front of you.
  8. Same here. Saw her a few years back, smallish hall. Got tickets to see her in a week or so, but not in a venue that a Primavera headliner would be filling.
  9. Not wanting to be Mr Doom and Gloom, but Coachella resulted in a spike in local Covid infections and a number of infected musicians, with the consequence being cancelled tours. Primavera will still happen, but regardless of the re-confirmed bands, we'll probably still get some attrition. https://dadadrummer.substack.com/p/masks-are-off?s=r On a positive note, I saw Sparks last night, and they've gone though a US tour, and halfway through a European tour, and done that by asking audiences to wear masks.
  10. And I've probably got more than 10 years on you... It's a marathon, not a sprint.
  11. Adidas is the right stage for them imo. Don't forget Idles played there last time and they were further along by that point.
  12. In normal years you'd only get to the site partway through the last of the free gigs on the Wednesday night. So in theory yes, in practice you'd be better off just finding your bearings in the city, getting something to eat/drink, etc, and getting the wristbands next day. But we still don't know what happens this year, nothing's been announced for the Wednesday yet. So the question might be moot.
  13. Putin hasn't declared any territorial claim on Barcelona, we're fine.
  14. Yeah, I'd be up for an alternative Primavera in Madrid since it'd be a nice change from Barca, but travel to/from the site looks a lot more challenging than I'd like.
  15. Can't abide the beer they sell at Primavera. We tend to drink Martini.
  16. Yeah, and it's Paradiso, not even one of the big corporate halls.
  17. Eye-wateringly expensive! 71,50 euros in Amsterdam! Whisky Tango Foxtrot.
  18. Also not easy to miss: the enormous queues that build up for no readily apparent reason.
  19. It was always going to happen, when the link between infections and hospitalizations/ICs/deaths was broken by enough vaccinations. Here in the Netherlands we're seeing basically apocalyptic levels of infections (50K+ per day), but only about 10 admissions to IC per day, and more restrictions were lifted this week.
  20. Finally booked accommodation. Feels like it's actually going to happen this time.
  21. Spain is now talking about "living with the virus", and treating covid like a general flu-like virus, so that suggests to me that Spain will soon give up on covid-specific restrictions. All concerts here (Netherlands) are cancelled as well (had tickets for God Speed You Black Emperor for Thursday, oh well), but I'm expecting those restrictions to lift in the next month or two. Point is that the situation beginning of June will be quite different from now, with almost 18 months of vaccinations and boosters, the link between infections and serious hospitalization broken, and June being the typical low point for infections generally.
  22. Then could you maybe exercise your free choice and fuck off out of this thread and take your conspiracy theory bullshit with you?
  23. And there are others that Primavera wouldn't touch with a bargepole. Like Mumford and Sons.
  24. Venues/timing is announced in advance, and you pick up timetables at the event. The core of the festival is the Tivoli Vredenburg, since there are five or six stages in the same building. Almost all of the other locations are inside the canal that runs round the centre, except for the Ekko at the north, and De Helling at the south. Hire a bike.
  25. They just announced the complete lineup Fingers crossed.
