  1. yep one of the best - love having a few at the cricket ground and all the home fans i've encountered there are lovely
  2. God that was painful. Same shit twice in one season it is comforting that pool haven’t managed to beat us over 420 minutes of football this season, but would’ve probably rather just lost 1-0 yesterday
  3. It didn't really offend me, but I just see why others like the poster on the last page would be offended. It definitely shocked me though! which i think was the intended effect. It's a very complex issue to be honest and I'd definitely defend his right to be able to tell the story in a challenging way, but I also think that people should be heard if they are offended by the final product. A lot of the time these debates get shut down with 'artistry' nonsense that ends up being way more close minded than the people that are critiquing the work (not on here, just in general)
  4. the difference between a black man saying the n-word and a straight man saying the f-word is pretty clear to me
  5. the context was pretty apparent to me on first listen. the lyrics are quite easy to follow the message of the song is very agreeable, can't see many people taking an issue with that. but I do understand why some folk wouldn't agree with the way it's put across
  6. I'm on the fence about the f-bombs... on one hand I think it's certainly a powerful message, and the intention is good but the intention being good doesn't always mean that the execution of the idea is justified. I can see why a lot of people have big problems with it
  7. No worries. for what it’s worth I view it as any political leaders job to win me over, and as of now Starmer hasn’t at all, though will probably still end up voting labour same thing with corbyn.
  8. It’s only a bit of fun, I’m not sure what else I’ve said suggests insincerity. Although I do find it quite funny that this might mead to his downfall. And I’d add that you have no idea what my political leanings are 🙂
  9. Seems like the worst case scenario for him. To be put in the same bracket as Cummings
  10. Right. So theoretically the same could be said for Keith? it didn’t look great for Cummings
  11. Well that’s an… interesting reading of what’s gone on
  12. I makes it easy for Johnson , especially that thing about Starmer calling for him to resign just for being investigated. It’s a massive blunder for Keith
  13. Didn’t they say that about Dominic Cummings tho? That there was a minor breach of the rules but not enough to fine… or something along those lines
  14. He’s gone in strong. Good point that reporter made about him calling for boris to resign for the very fact he was being investigated
  15. So what If he is judged to have committed a minor breach of the rules but not fined? doesn’t look good for him either does it
  16. I'd say there's plenty of boring fellas in pubs too, I wouldn't want a pint with either of them personally!
  17. but to be fair he'd still probably be more of a laugh than kier starmer
  18. not my own list.. but in terms of general perception. admittedly farage's appeal has probably dropped in recent years, but at one point it felt like you couldn't move for pints with nige media coverage
  19. It's very tiring, especially this thing where sky/Bt insist on having partial co-commentators. Carragher for the mersyside derby for example. But they are having an amazing season. Just thinking how funny it would be if we won the fa cup, city won the league and real the ucl
  20. Think he was a harder sell in '15 cause we were coming off the back of Ed Miliband and it just felt like more of the same. also corbyn's campaign was great and fresh and obviously mobilised a load of new members - it was quite a unique set of circumstances also fwiw I reckon burnham would be near the top of the 'guy I'd like to go for a pint with' list, right up there with farage
  21. Hard task when the self-appointed protagonists of football are having the season of their lives
  22. burnham for sure is labour's biggest asset, but khan? I'm not sure about the rest of the country but here here he's quite unpopular. defo has nowhere near the cut through that Burnham does. anecdotally, I've heard a lot of people from all sides of the political spectrum praise burnham's work, whereas i can't remember one time someone has recognised khan positively
  23. LA Dodgers folk for chelsea then. Seemed like it was always going to be them tbh. Don't know much about baseball but Dodgers seem to be run well - hopefully it means we move to smarter scouting etc. rather than overspending on trash
  24. he's fucked it. sounds just like the pm here
