  1. Was at QOTSA in Antwerp yday evening, what a band. As far as I am concerned, I am fully ok with Werchter doing us a repeat of the RHCP situation last year. A combo with the Foos on the Sunday would be out of this world. I am expecting QOTSA at Pkp though.
  2. No Belgian dates for Green Day, but it looks like the EU/UK tour ends of 29th of June, which would mean no Werchter. Disappointed with this one, would have been a nice first headliner. My optimistic side says to not rule them out yet, but looking unlikely.
  3. New song from Lysistrata, french noise rock band. Really loving the evolution of this band, this first single slaps.
  4. Sampha's new album is brilliant. Really hoping to finally catch him this summer, and what a great Barn name he would be!
  5. Was looking forward to this day of releases, and so far it has not disappointed. Sampha's new album is excellent, and Parcels new Live Volume is also good, much more up tempo than last one. On too Lost Girls (Jenny Hval side project) and then Bombay Bicycle Club now.
  6. Thanks for the feedback! Listened to the BBC 6 mix and quite enjoyed it, but have already seen them twice on their Isles tour, so I am hoping for something different, and this indeed sounds different!
  7. Anyone went to WHP this w-e and could somewhat review Bicep's new show ? Thinking about going to Antwerp, but need confirmation that the Chroma show is good!
  8. Mitski's album is pretty good, liking this to start the day calmly. Onto Explosions in the Sky now. Two very nice weeks of album releases in a row!
  9. We agree on that, and I would prefer RW to keep going for these "edgier" acts, but it seems to me like acts that I consider quite dull (e.g. Imagine Dragons) are selling super well, so I dont know if RW will think like this when booking.
  10. Not sure to agree on this one. There was P!nk in 2019, Billie was supposedbly planned for this year but the schedule change made her go to Pkp... This year we had big pop/hip-hop acts on main stage. Stormzy was there to headline, Stromae planned to headline, Oscar and the wolf sub. Granted that the last 2 are belgian, but I really think this type of name is more and more common in RW, so I don't see why Dua wouldn't work.
  11. Was hoping for less clashes between Marquee and Dance Hall, but most shows are on at exact same time. Thought about a day ticket for Sunday but I think I am out now!
  12. They're too big for Werchter. They can sell out stadiums so easily, what would be the point of doing Werchter ? Plus they bring a lot of their own gadgets (lightning bracelets...). Their fee must also be gigantic. Pretty sure this could also impact the festival negatively. Instant sell-out of the day of Coldaplay + probably quite a few buying combi and going on that day only, and all this would I think mean other parts of the meadow empty during their set. (I am probably being overdramatic, but I think a name like that could hinder the festival) For Glasto it's different, they're probably ok with reducing their fee, and Glasto tickets are sold out way before the lineup anyway.
  13. From festileaks: No Depeche Mode at any Werchter-related events in 2024. That's already quite a bummer to start speculation season with.
  14. Depeche Mode in February in Sportpaleis. I would say this makes them unlikely for Werchter, but that show will probably sell out really fast, and we've seen bands do Sportpaleis early in the year before Werchter (e.g. The War On Drugs last year) so let's not rule them out yet.
  15. Again out of reactions but fully agree!
  16. All this looks great, but I think Werchter needs to work on gender balance, and this is looking far too full of man-only bands!
  17. Happy to see this topic started: I'll go with the following (overly optimistic) prediction/wishlist: Thursday: Main : Dua Lipa / The Strokes / Charlotte De Witte closing Barn: The Smile Klub-c: Loyle Carner Friday: Main: RATM / SOAD Barn: Lorde Klub-c: Marc Rebillet Saturday: Main: Tame Impala / Lana del Rey / Foals Barn: Gojira Klub-c: Agnes Obel Sunday: Main : Foo Fighters / The National Barn: New Order Klub-c: The Blaze edit: I'll also throw in LCD Soundsystem, and I'll have them over any of the other artists on this line up. 😄
  18. Hearing all the red crosses complaints for Charlotte de Witte, I can't imagine how bad it will be for Fred Again.. At this point, they must know that extending the Barn once every two year will not solve the problem. They need to somehow open it similarly to what is done at Lowlands. But then there are soundbleeds...
  19. Looking at this one through the livestreams this year, and I know this lineup was less to my taste this year so no regrets, but cannot wait for 2024 already, this place really is special. Enjoy everyone!
  20. Their concert in Amsterdam was one of the best I have ever seen. Werchter setlist will definitely be different, but I cannot recommend enough to go check them out. What a band.
  21. Another good day for releases, loved the new King GIzzard and QOTSA so far, and loving even more Sigur Ros. Really can't wait to see them with the London contemporary orchestra soon.
  22. Great day for releases. Loving this new Squid album, can't wait to catch then on tour soon. On to King Krule next.
  23. Nice names in that batch, will finally see Brutus!
  24. It wasn't cancelled, more advertised as a "one off" by Coachella co-founder, and I think that first edition was very succesfull. He said they would bring it back if there was a lineup "worth it". I guess this is a new iteration of the same thing and this lineup is "worth it", but I might be wrong.
