  1. Think you/we have to wait close to 14 more days to the last day of January 😢
  2. Don't think Arcade Fire is relevant either. I don't know if I agree that you can't put together a good Line-Up. I think you can - just a matter of money and personal preference. I think the following bigger names are still not booked to anything in Denmark (but playing elsewhere during the summer): LCD Soundsystem Smashing Pumpkins Ed Sheeran Lana Del Rey Måneskin Prodigy Dua Lipa Arcade Fire Doja Cat SZA Pulp Justice Disclosure Jungle Royal Blood Sum 41 Janes Addiction Greta Van Fleet Calvin Harris Deftones Stormzy Libertines Give me a couple of Smashing, LCD, Pulp, Jungle, Prodigy, Janes Addiction, Libertines and a few more small names to my liking and I would be very happy. Would also go see Stormzy, Lana (with the wife) and deftones and would give SZA / Doja cat a fair chance. Edit: And then for the dream Line-Up of touring bands steal Tool from Copenhell, Fred Again from Syd for Solen and also snatch some bands from Northside.
  3. Actually the first thing that makes sense 😅 Just saw Gucci Mane announced for Exit festival. I could easily see Roskilde going for him for a high Hip hop spot. Got fine reviews in 2017. Something for the young boys.
  4. I just think a solo show would have been announced already. It is a little strange, because I would also say they would fit Heartland -> Northside -> solo show almost even Copenhell before Roskilde. Maybe they are just not coming to Denmark 😅
  5. No ones really touring? Not yet at least. Can only see maybe Stormzy.
  6. I do somewhat see your Smashing points but then again: Oceania, Monuments to an Elegy and Atum (most recent) did get over 6 on pitchfork, so not everything redeemed completely useless and I personally do listen to a couple of newer songs from them once in a while. Their 3 records (Siamese, Melancollie, Adore) are still absolute classics and have also recently been re reviewed on pitchfork getting 8,5; 9,1 and 9,3. Basically choosing Pulp over Smashing would be punishing one band for still making music. I also feel Smashing have had a somewhat unique influence on newer genres with their emo leaning rock - a direction Hip Hop have been going. And with the depressed youth I actually think it could be interesting for young people to discover a band like Smashing Pumpkins while appealing to an older crowd. Mainly though: I just can't believe no danish festival would book them (there's so many), and as of now the dates mainly line up towards Roskilde
  7. I would love love love Smashing Pumpkins / Pulp. Still my expectations are Doja Cat / SZA and if Billie Eilish ends up being around then Billie Eilish as well - Heck even Dua Lip or Lana. So many top female artists around, and these days I'm sure Roskilde would jump the chance to have a female overweight top line. They are already well under way with Kali Uchi's, PJ Harvey, Aurora. So actually I'm down to hoping for only one of Smashing/Pulp/LCD/Prodigy (or even Jungle/Janes Addiction), but I would gladly take more. Can't wait for the next announcement. Surprisingly many acts still not booked to any of the too many danish festival.
  8. It's happened too much recently. And actually all years since I've started coming to the Festival. Had to give up on Malk de Kojn, Tame Impala, Robias Rahim and Ukendt Kunstner. Chose Blur because I knew it would be overcrowded at Rosalia. Had to give up midway through Stormzy. Give the artists the Orange stage if they have the pull. Especially with other artists struggling to fill the orange stage at all. Your predictions would make Roskilde's 4 headliners insane from a global point of view. Not to my liking personally, but pretty huge. Would love The Prodigy and Smashing Pumpkins but I am sceptical of both. I have no clue who the 4 top headliners could be. Also sceptical of Lana because she has fests early June and later august already (break in the middle and played Glasto last year). Fearing we could still get something like Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa (because she appearantly likes the festival - nothing against her. Just too soon).
  9. Why? They will require headliner money whilst not being anywhere near headliner material. Roskilde clearly wants and always have wanted to introduce a lot of genres, as you cans see with several of the bookings this year, but burning the majority of the money on artists that will not sell tickets is risky. I would love for Tool to be booked for Roskilde come this European Tour, but I have to acknowledge the exact same challenge: It would have required serious headliner money without them having the pull with the average young scandinavian. Copenhell on the other hand can book them and pay headliner money because their audience will love it and buy buy buy.
  10. With Lana being in Europe early (Primavera) and Late (Reading/Leeds) I would guess she takes a break in the middle (Roskilde/Glasto/Werchter/Open'er).
  11. Any predictions for the coming week. Normally we would get names Thursday. Predict SZA being the big name.
  12. Will take place 3. July -> 6. July (Warm up starting 29. June). Tickets and first acts on Tuesday! Curious if they continue down the path of booking very "young" music as they did in 2022 and 2023 compared to before the pandemic.
  13. She did play Tinderbox in 2019 🙂
  14. Erykah Badu would be a female (sub)headliner I would look forward to. When you say she tours this summer? I can only find one concert in England 26. August. Pretty far away from Roskilde. I also think we are getting Lizzo. Propably also Lana, but her live set should be, well, boring and normally Roskilde bookers have a pretty good idea of who performs live and not. As Froglobster says - In these days I only think Björk could work on Arena. I'm not even sure I would go see it even though I like a lot from her first 4 records. Lost interest several records ago.
  15. Unless she cancels eveything now 😅
  16. My point was actually in general and not directed at you specifically 🙂. More in general that people often praise the earlier programs. AND that it is simply too soon to judge the poster. We are missing more than 100 artists! Eminem, Rolling Stones and Bruno Mars all did other festivals as well. Eminem/Rolling Stones not that many, but still some. And I'm still pretty sure Roskilde are capable of booking the absolute superstars. Some birds mentioned they would have had RATM if not for the complications with Zack. I certainly see you point in regards to new normal and I remember a year where we had a crazy amount of female Singer/songwriters. Felt a bit like fighting for the 50/50 split - which I'm sure is still going on - like it or not I think it is being done in a better and more diverse way now. Again let's judge the poster further when we get the last 100 names. In regards to Bon Iver, The National, Sigur Ros: The National played Roskilde 3 times from a small stage to Orange. Since then they played Denmark every year at either Festival or concert or both making them much less exclusive. Besides that they got personally involved in the danish festival scene, which is also why Bon Iver have prioritized the festivals where his friends from the National have been involved, when he ventured to Europe. Sigur Ros really haven't Toured much since 2013 and furthermore, when artists reach their peak stagewise Roskilde usually wait a long time to book them again. So they can book artists with only one years hiatus or even two years in a row if they grow / suddenly can fill a bigger stage, but if the band halts they often wait 7-10 years until a new generation are ready to get the experience (Strokes, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, PJ Harvey, Queens Of The Stone Age, Metallica, RHCP - just on the top of my head). So maybe it is time for Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros, The Prodigy again. Roskilde will never be like Rock Werhcter who books RHCP two years in a row or Pearl Jam / Metallica /Muse every 2/3 years (no matter the popularity).
  17. All Roskilde posters tend to look amazing when you look back. Someone praised the 2018 line up. I can assure you that a lot of people in Denmark thought it was the worst Line Up ever. It is the same every year. A lot of complaining that it is the worst Line-up ever - Then the schedule drops and everyone hates the clashes - then when people look back they think it is amazing😅 Let's judge the line up when the rest of the names drop - Could be as soon as late February. And just to be clear: I am not just a fanboy. It is just how it tends to go historically. I personally hated the recent release of names. Still the poster could bring in Kendrick Lamar, Sigur Ros, Stromae, Iggy Pop, Black country new road, Fred Again (again), The prodigy (on the Arena stage maybe! Could be cool) and so many other names not yet announced in any festival in Denmark.
  18. She is in Ireland the first wednesday of the festival and Greece the sunday after the festival, so she needs a concert or two somewhere between Ireland and Greece. I would not say she is a lock, but it would be an obvious stop to add and Roskilde have been extremely focused on booking females in the latest editions and her latest Roskilde apperance was in 2015. Maybe she is the Big female headliner, but could also be Lizzo (she's got a gig in Denmark in February so wont be announced before that at least) or someone we do not know yet. Still hoping for Kendrick as he was announced for both 2020 and 2021 editions. He "owes" us a great concert on the Orange Stage.
  19. Nope - I'm pretty sure next big announcement will be in January. It's been the trend the last few years with big announcements of 1-2 headliners and around 20 bands total every 1-2 months. Sometimes though a headliner get's a solo announcement (happened with Eminem, Kendrick, Rolling Stone, The guy from beatles). So if we get a name soon I would imagine it would be an act worthy of a solo announcment (Kendrick, Eilish comes to mind). Roskilde is a really nice festival. The crowd is pretty young (I'm starting to feel old in the beginning of my thirties)
  20. Roskilde always have a lot of headliners. Or names with the biggest font size. Last year the "real" headliners were clearly Post Malone, Dua Lipa, The Strokes and Tyler The Creator. Still acts like Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Megan Thee Stallion, The Smile, Haim, Sc. Vincent were with big Font size as well. My bet is that only Blur are the biggest name on their day.
  21. I would be very surpriced of we do not get Blur. Albarn loves Roskilde. He also got to open the Orange Stage with the Syrian Orchestra once. New names tomorrow at 9.00 CET. Let's go!
  22. Soon - They need to be ready for Christmas sales. I'm pretty sure more names are coming 30. November at the latest (payday).
  23. I agree that Rina, Denzel and Christine are returning too soon 😞 Especially on a first announcement.
