  1. Have someone observed if Graspop shared names with Werchter? Audience very different but still in Belgium - 50km and a weekend apart... Thinking about the remaining 15ish bands for Graspop and names like Bad Omens, Janes Addiction come to mind... they all have a gap during the fest, but are also at RW. If they have only fillers for the last wave - no need to keep it for later. Line up is very strong already.
  2. That's a great addition, indeed! Seen them few times on their UK tour last October and it was wild. If the Roskilde team bring in Chino Moreno with either with Deftones or Crosses it'll give a lot more depth and diversity to the line up...w8ing for the next announcements...
  3. let's see tomorrow... with so many good and big bands touring in August, Sziget have a chance to gather amazing line up next year. Not sure if anyone mentioned NAS in the tread... He's touring in the period as well and would be great rap addition to the line up.
  4. This prediction looks very probable, yes. Definitely fits Sziget direction and these bands are touring in the period... If this gets announced, I'll be quite happy. Me being greedy would add "The Smile" but even without them I will consider visiting next year. I agree an announcement is imminent, so let's see the next couple of days.
  5. The Smile and The Kills would be the gold acts to steal from this poster
  6. I expect so too. If the leak is legit, overall DW got most of good available acts for next year, but still weaker compared to the stacked 2023. Let's see P.S. I'll be surprised if there's no Crosses in the announcement today.
  7. Foo Fighters are good addition to Rock am Ring. Bravo! Also from the announced bands on RaR, maybe Download can take Bad Wolves and Yonaka...?
  8. From what I understood Rise Against are not main stage headliner. Rock am Ring are yet to announce the headliner there. Might be wrong though... Unless you're a die hard Metallica fan, so far (for me) RaR probably looks a bit better than Download even with all German bands I don't care about. This is of course at the moment and things will change with the next announcement. Still, I think this year Download have a real chance to have the second best metal line up in Europe (Hellfest) which would be a big thing. It would've been too easy to "open the old dusty closet" and add the Motley Crew/Def Leppard combo present at Copenhell, GMM etc. but for the first time in years they didn't which is very refreshing. Looking forward the next announcement and the day separation.
  9. Weird discussion here... What is middle aged man? Probably that's me (37yo) and I'm not sure what to make of this line up. Overall I'm starting to get worried that Puscifer won't announce anything decent and will waste their EU leg with such horrible bookings. In regards of the middle aged people and this line up. (I presume most people here are in their 20s) RHCP are garbage in 202x and you're telling me they played this year as well? That's not good. Everyone above 30 have seen them and knows this. 1st time = kinda interesting, second time = not at all, 3rd time = there is no 3rd time Muse used to be a superb live act till around 2015ish... The middle aged men have seen them in their prime. What Muse are doing now is a bit offensive to people like me. QOTSA cool, AM yeah fine - I'll have some fun. This year PKP and especially Reading were good shows. Editors cool, Sigur Ros - great, Black keys... these guys still making music??? fine whatever. The very very strange bookings for the middle aged men are Amenra, Wardruna... Puscifer. Last time I went to RW was in 2015 and I swore that I'll never go again because the festival is crap. I'm sure it still is. Did they fix "The Barn" stage cuz I doubt it... BUT in the same time I'm one Deafheaven away from buying a ticket, hahaha
  10. Generally, I would say all festivals increased their capacity a bit and that created some issues here and there... At novarock you had the big rain. I wasn't there but kudos to the organizers for not letting cars in the parking the day before as some vehicles would still be there I'm sure. Can't talk about the other issues though. Rock im Park few days before Novarock had fairly good organization with the exception of the two front of (main) stage sectors blocked by bars and toilets on both sides which caused HUGE bottlenecks. Otherwise all was pretty decent. Primavera W2 was way worse. Way too few toilets. Almost no water points. At the bars, drinks were poured in the same cups people return - wtf. The 2 main stages with the huge sound decks platform (and VIP behind it) was just ridiculous. Facepalm. huuuge bottlenecks there. The first day with Gorillaz was absolutely horrible. All days after 1am the festival smells like shit and piss. I was really sorry for the team at the merch stand right next to the toilets. I hope they're still alive. This was my first time at Prima and probably the last. Pinkpop - 2 weeks ago had the classic festival experience. I really enjoyed it. For some reason they still use plastic, non-reusable cups and at 4pm the festival ground is absolute garbage site. Hope they fix this for the next edition. Queues and stuff were okay if you have some festival experience and know what you're doing and when to go where. Overall no complains. Hellfest Weekend 2 was just amazing in terms feel, design, organization... everything. I have few minor suggestions but overall highly recommended if you like this music. I'm sure Madcool will have bad organization but who cares - Deftones will be playing:)
  11. Sorry if this was discussed already... I just received my full festival (4 days) wristband. Are there other wristbands for the 5th day with Jack White (should I wait for something else) or we'll enter with a ticket for this day? How does this work
  12. i hope mad cool are waiting for kendrik's album drop this friday, hopefully along with announcement of more concerts in europe. this lonely show in milano (not counting glasto) seems very unlikely to remain the only one
  13. any suggestions who might replace Josh and Mike on the Friday? Weezer sounds like a terrible option to me. Hope this rumor is not true:) On the other hand Kendrick Lamar may be too big to fit here..? If they want to keep the guitar-ish vibe of the canceled acts they could have BMTH maybe. To to be honest though the whole line up is so musically inconsistent and all over the place that anyone could fit.. Dua Lipa, Slipknot, Post Malone, Green Day, etc. etc. Definitely not keeping my hopes up, pretty sure the replacement/s will be somewhere between bad and terrible compared to the original bookings... Let's see
  14. Sorry for not clarifying, I meant the in-between festival thingy. They were supposed to play on the 7th but no more in the line up there. We're going to W2. It's a busy summer though, I'm sure we'll catch them somewhere else:) As for the NIN comment above - no. Yesterday's announcement clearly showed the parameters of the Hellfest exclusivity deal. Not only there no other dates in (continental) Europe, but all UK shows are in small venues/places with Brixton Academy (5k capacity) being the biggest - means they were tied on that front as well. Anyway congrats to Hellfest for bringing NIN to Europe in the first place. They would never come only for the Apollo in Man or the Academy in Glasgow which is super-super small. Still those of you who manage to get tix for those will be in for a threat. When else you'll see Trent in such a small venue nowadays...
  15. sorry if this was discussed earlier... but have "Turnstile" canceled Primavera? They're no longer in the poster:///
  16. I was 100% sure Halsey will be there... and generally the pop acts don't appeal to me. overall the poster looks pretty decent though and is refreshingly different to most summer festivals so far. congrats to the team!
  17. Surely NIN will have more concerts in Europe around these dates. In recent years, they cherry-pick venues so I expect similar, bit exotic places for a couple more shows. Last UK shows back in 2018 were in Southbank and Royal Albert Hall so the current location fits. I don't think they'll be at Glasto. For this Europe leg I expect them to add standalone shows at least in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris etc. but not too many. Usually they don't stay in Europe more that 3 weeks so you have good idea when they'll be here.
  18. yeah, "the leak" seems logical:) AM I think will be there as there are no dates in Belguim on their tour so far Also looking at the Reading poster, I believe Halsey is a good fit for PKP 2022. Some good potential names can be shared with Szitet as well.. Bottom line if they play their cards well. it could be very solid line up! Usually they share line up later in he year though, so let's see
  19. yeah, sleep token would be veeery nice
  20. Well... going through through this tread, Frank Carter and Architects really seems to be one of the most obvious candidates for surprise set. To be honest, I was hoping for more bold or interesting acts... ever since I bought tix for the festival a couple of months ago I was hoping for Thom Yorke - either with the Modern Boxes show or The Smile. Still, I hope FR have some interesting surprises we didn't thought of there:)
  21. Unfortunately, this is not something new for RandL. In 2014 we bought tix mainly because of Chino Moreno's Crosses pretty much Europe exclusive gig in the Pit. The Band was removed from the poster without any explanation a month before the festival:/ I guess such things are inevitable when you're organizing a festival with 200+ bands. With the COVID situation, things are obviously worse... I don't know if Daniel P Carter still curates the Pit. I'm sure (if possible) he'll come up with some quality replacements. Let's see
  22. Spiritbox just cancelled Reading because of the Limp Bizkit tour cancelation. (their instagram) Can’t see how both things are connected unless Bizkit were supposed to be secret set. shame really, was looking forward this gig:///
