We’ve always had a camp fire.

Some of our group bring kids now and we are cracking on a bit so a nice campfire after a long day works for us.

I can honestly say we always bring our own wood. I don’t know what time those pics were taken but as I say I haven’t seen free wood at Glasto since 2005 😂

Maybe because we started brining our own.

Love a camp fire me, I might even turn the flames blue 😉

    Defo still there chief.

We picked up some wood last year, it's on the railway line just after the long drops, at the junction between Greenpeace & Green Futures/Croissant Neuf

  2. Wishing the best of luck to all the resale groups! Purely anecdotal but it seems like there’s more tickets going back than usual this time - we’re normal very solid but we’ve 3 going back out of 11 + another 4 of 6 confirming they won’t be trying in the resale (having previously said they would). Hopefully that bodes well for everyone here!

  3. Faithless are up there as one of my all time favourites but also hold the position of probably my favourite ever gig - Oxegen 2004 (old Irish Festival that thankfully is no more)

Faithless were given a midday Sunday main stage slot but there was a rumour going around that they weren’t happy with the low position. However, because they were up against nobody really, pretty much the entire festival was at it (or at least, that’s how it felt). It had been raining most of the morning/afternoon with some pretty heavy showers. Enter Faithless.

Maxi walks out, says a few words in his usual cool-as-f**k Maxi way, points to the sky and then bang, God is a DJ. I kid you not, the rain stops, the clouds disappear and the sun begins to beam down on us for the entire gig… It was bliss.

Then, maybe 5 minutes after they finished up and the crowd began to disperse, it started to absolutely bucket down again, so heavy people were running for shelter in the tents.

God truly was a DJ that day.

RIP Maxi, you were one of a kind ✌🏼

how about the fact that maybe artists figured out being paid in exposure isnt what its cracked up to be. Because in the real world if you want to pay somebody that way you get laughed out of the room. Somehow in the music business its acceptable behaviour and ya'll are ok with that. So artists wanting a fair payday shouldnt be a shock given the current climate. Maybe this lineup will actually hammer home the notion that artists say no to even the mighty glasto and no festival is immune.

    Define a fair pay day

What acts would you like to have seen instead?

As mentioned, it’s probably the best they could get, but that doesn’t take away from it being weak in comparison to previous.

Every year can’t be a show stopper though

But you aren't coming up with any alternatives, so surely if you (and many others) are saying the line up is underwhelming then you'd have another act(s) in mind?  Its probably very difficult to get people 1. big enough to headline 2. agree the lower appearance fee 3. on tour at the same time etc

I'd agree Coldplay is a lazy booking though.

It’s possible to be critical of the line up but also supportive of the festival. Let’s call a spade a spade, most agree it’s a weak line up. It may be the best they could get/afford from a headliner perspective (across all stages), and we all know Glasto is more than the music, but for me it’s the undercard that’s most underwhelming.

  7. What’s the criteria for “Possible” line-up rumours? Wondering if Confidence Man should be dropped in after their like of @wozwebs recent tweet to them + that it looks like they’ll be at least in Europe if not UK around Glasto time.

Edit: Nevermind, I see them now under likely!

    ffs 🤦‍♂️😂

I drive back 15th - one night at home then off to the euros in Germany with a mare for a week, fly back Sunday - two days at work then off to Glastonbury.

No rest for the wicked eh 😁

If you're worried about the boat, the Swift is far quicker and usually smoother. Oxford to Holyhead is a similar distance as it is to Fishguard too.

If your plans arent firmly set, its less than a 2 hour drive between Dublin & Wexford and there's plenty of beautiful places to stay in between too if you don't fancy the drive off the boat.

  9. Hoi hoi!

First of congrats on bagging the golden tickets, it's going to be like nothing you've experienced before! Excited for you!

I've travelled to the festival from Dublin by flight and by ferry and definitely ferry is the preferred choice.

As other posters have already mentioned, arriving to Bristol by Tuesday night is the preference, particularly for your first time at the festival. It's a long drive but it is manageable. If you get the morning swift you'll be in Bristol around 4/5ish (including a food stop half way).

If it's purely time off you're struggling with, maybe think about splitting the group? Last year we had 3 cars driving via. Holyhead on Monday morning and 2 further people join us on Tuesday evening via. a flight to Bristol. It's another option to think about.

What are you think for the Monday post festival? Are you planning to be back in work Tuesday or are you trying to make it back for work on Monday (I know one person who managed to pull off being at her desk at 9am on Monday morning in the IFSC having left the festival at midnight Sunday. I don't think she'd recommend it though! 😂)

Why Fishguard too? Although the drive to the festival is shorter, you also have to factor in the 2 hours from Dublin to Rosslare... plus you'll need to arrive at least an hour before the 08:45 departure. When we started weighing up one against the other, we felt it made more sense to get a better sleep in and aim for the 07:30 Swift from Dublin.

Good luck in them topping that 2017 set on West Holts though...

That was next level good… Jon Hopkins was also excellent the following year, and Bicep the year after.

West Holts needs another decent electronic headliner 2024. 2023 wasn’t great for us.

Hi, I think I read something the other day about when being in a different country the only form of payment is by credit card. I am currently in South Africa and will be trying for tickets in the morning. Was planning on paying for tickets via monzo card which is just a normal debit. Can anyone confirm please?
    good luck all!!

We're in the same position as you, we're in Cape Town atm. Hopefully you've got decent connectivity and you've avoided any planned loadshedding! Good luck!

With only partial information, no of course I can't.

Relax. I'm not claiming it's your fault, or even "user error". I said before that See are at fault for making the process needlessly complicated and leaving it open to failure.

It's not partial information, I explained my entire experience (which others have also had) in an earlier reply to you.

You implied previously that is wasn't a technical problem and only conceeded that See made the process opaque and messy. However, you've also incorrectly assumed the below which unfairly casts doubt over the validity or truth surrounding the experiences plenty of people have documented -

    1. People not understanding / following the reconfirmation process all the way to the end.
    2. Confusion caused by people having (old) registrations they'd forgotten about (often on alternate email aliases that still end up in their usual inbox)
