  1. Joe Lewis is the majority shareholder at Tottenham.
  2. He’s hardly got a Stella record himself
  3. Mo has retired from test matches.
  4. Martial is shit though, or at least has been playing poorly for an extended period of time now - that can be universally agreed by all can’t it?
  5. If that’s what you think then you should be lumping on Man Utd at 6/1. Personally think the 2/1 about Chelsea is more than fair.
  6. Agree on all counts. Have zero sympathy with Ronaldo though - he’s the boy that cries wolf. Look at how he moves the angle of his foot to make it impossible to stay on his feet before he’s anywhere near contact being made. I’d also look at his reaction to not getting the decision compared to Soucek’s after being taken out. One cries like a baby and spends the next 5 mins gesticulating to no one in particular. The other rolls his socks up and carries on with the game.
  7. Delighted to have been at Edgbaston on Saturday. It may be the worst form of cricket, but it is still cricket - and how wondrous it was to see God et al smiling like I’ve not seen them smile for 14 years.
  8. True. Although to be fair to Moyes those on the pitch either have no experience taking penalties or have recent experience of not scoring them. I’d also add, Noble didn’t miss, De Gea saved. I’d finally mention that Noble went up further in my estimation of him.
  9. In an amazingly observant and shouty mood were we yesterday?
  10. West Ham in Europe is a beautiful thing
  11. I notice after months of pressure, Yorkshire have chosen today for to release findings into their racism review. I wonder why they chose today…
  12. Doesn’t matter much - India still retain the Pataudi trophy (not that any player or supporter really cares)
  13. The BCCI and ECB will be negotiating around the result/money.
  14. Of course not. They’ve released a statement that says everyone will automatically be issued a full refund to the card they purchased on.
  15. Was going tomorrow and Sunday. Will the BCCI pay my train fares and hotel?
  16. The ground has changed a bit since then, and not all for the good. Still, good to hear from the members forum they have managed to scrape enough pennies together to fix the Frank Woolley stand and re-open it next season
  17. Spent a delightful 3 hours at Canterbury today. My god I love county cricket.
  18. Crazily good test match going on at the oval. Despite an excellent opening stand (so far) by Burns and Hameed I’d much rather still be in the Indian dressing room. That said, all is not lost for England and with all 4 results still possible i’m gutted I have to be at work tomorrow! PS It’s very high at the top at the new Laker balcony! Great view mind.
  19. Do you think that will stop racists being racists?
  20. 107 not out off 70 odd balls - Stevo is God Where’s Zface to show me how to embed Wisden tweets that demonstrate just what an absolute freak he is by numbers
  21. I have no issue with your style when you actually post joined up sentences that allow other posters to respond to fact and/or opinion. The consistent linking to tweets without meaningful comment is not a style. I don’t see why you fail to understand this. Football is so big now that there’s a lot out there that is related to football but is not football specific. Sometimes it’s interesting to discuss those issues. Many posters do this but they also primarily discuss football. You rarely if ever, discuss the actual football. This makes it appear as though you’re only on some social crusade and have zero interest in the football itself. That’s fine, if that’s what you wish to do, I just don’t like it on this thread.
  22. Neither of us are aware of all the facts. My position is City may have followed their own procedures and those of the law of the country to the letter or they may not have. Given I’ve no idea, I haven’t drawn on conclusion on that. You clearly have. Which is pretty stupid. Poppycock. I guess you believe linking to click bait twitter feeds on a festival forum is the way to go about ensuring footballers don’t get away with abuse?
  23. If it’s a usual Oval wicket I’d slightly favour Wood over Woakes but I’d 100% be playing Woakes at Old Trafford. In fact I’d probably play both in this test. I’d bring in Pope for Buttler dropping Bairstow down one spot in the batting lineup now he’s keeping wicket. Woakes for Curran, who I don’t think anyone has really ever been convinced by in the traditional sense. Plenty of scope for him to return at a later stage (but not in Oz) Anderson can have a well earned rest. He isn’t particularly suited to the surface anyway averaging 5 runs more per wicket at the Oval than his overall average. Where as Wood most definitely is suited. Burns, Hameed, Malan, Root, Pope, Bairstow, Moeen, Woakes, Overton, Wood, Robinson I think that gives the bowling unit plenty of variation despite all being right handed and keeps plenty of runs in the middle/lower order. It’d be really nice to see Malan make some more runs especially if we bat first (so he’s under pressure). With a century and three 50s to his name averaging over 42 in Oz, we could really use a confident No.3 going in to the ashes.
  24. Well we’ve gone from three letters to three words - progress !
