Has anyone found it this year. A load of us were looking around stone circle last night but couldn't find an entrance. Does it open Thursday?

Don't know if it's there or not but if it is, you need to go through the woods and out the other side, right by the fence.  To your left if you were stood in the circle looking up the hill

Don't. This is my nightmare. I strugglednwith my test run too and have to set it up solo. Well, with my 7 year old and I'm sure he'll lose interest within 5 mins.

Can you stop by Wickets camping on weds afternoon to give me a hand? 😜

Getting the poles into the feet is pure brute force. My wife is strong but I still don’t think she could do it alone.

hopefully they’ve done it this way to account for stretch/flex over repeated use and it’ll get easier over time.

Test run completed on our 4.1 F&B poles on Sunday. Should have taken 15 minutes (love that its one piece plus poles and pegs) but it took us 2 hours and eventually both of us brute forcing to get the centre pole into both sides. Unsure either of us (or many people in general) could do it solo. Anyone else experience this or got any tips to make it easier?

Regarding light in the tent, certainly wasn't truly blackout like in the store but an awful lot better than a non-blackout tent. Seemed cool enough inside but it wasn't up for long and not in direct sun for most of the time. I figure some reflection and darkness is better than none. Hoping it holds true to the promise come next week!

I’ve used mine twice, had the same issue the first time (although it didn’t take 2hrs!) but it was noticeably easier the second time. Hoping it’ll be even easier next time round.
Maybe put it up again before the festival? And leave it up as long as you can, to stretch the fabric?

Has anyone ordered this from Next before? I presume it'll be fine but a little nervous about the fact it's over £30 cheaper than direct from Decathlon. Obviously if it's legit then great!

Also, while I'm here, I understand how the 'Black' part of F&B works, but not quite clear on the 'Fresh' part. How does it manage to keep the bedroom of the tent cooler? I've seen images where it seems to open a small amount at the back so just wondering if you're exposed to the elements (& potentially unwanted arms/bugs creeping in) if you want to keep it fresh?

If you trawl through the fresh & black thread, several people have ordered via Next and it’s legit, the same product. The fresh bit is a white reflective coating. It really does work.

Lost Horizons showers.... cubicles or communal?

cubicle but open if that makes sense?  You just walk into your own cubicle but there's nothing to shut behind you and anyone walking past to the next one will be able to see you

Would I be judged if I wasn't nude and wore swimming shorts? Not a fan of being nude in public lol

Not at all. People in various states of undress and no pressure to strip off. Although when you’re there, you may change your mind!

Am I right in thinking its nudity strongly encouraged?

Well, no one is wondering around suggesting that you get your kit off but it is part of their ethos.  That said, when I visited in 2019 there were people in various states of undress.  No pressure to do anything.  The majority of people were nude and it's a comfortable safe environment to do so.

That’s a good idea with the sheet roll back, yeah same here was hard to get the rods in, once if we can shave a little of the rods or the holes them self,

Did you have the same trouble? Do you reckon the fabric may stretch over time if I leave it up?

I have the same model and had the same issue the first time I used it. I used it a second time last weekend and it was noticeably easier so I’m hoping it’ll continue to improve

Now I just make curlygirls Cherry Bakewell Vodka as it's epic.

Agreed, it's the best!  For those not familiar with it, it's equal parts vodka, cherry brandy and amaretto.  Just mix together and drink, no infusion needed.  It's great neat but would also mix well with lemonade I guess.

Tent campers i seriously recommend buying a footprint groundsheet.

Gives an extra layer of protection (and waterproofness) from anything sharp piercing the bottom of the tent.

Stops the bottom of the tent getting wet/muddy. (It’s much easier to clean a ground sheet when you get home than the bottom of your tent)

Gives you some clean and dry floorspace to pack all your stuff (including your tent) away before you depart for home.

Do you use a custom size footprint sheet for your tent, or a more generic rectangular sheet?

I'm just having a look at this now, doesn't look like Decathlon do a footprint for the tent I'm planning to buy.

I did exactly this for my trip last weekend and it's a great idea, made it really easy to pack up too.  Forget searching for tent footprints, just go to Screwfix and get a tarpaulin that's roughly the right size.  It'll be about half the price of a tent footprint.  The one we got had plenty of eye holes to peg it out, we just had to fold one end over to be able to get the tent pegs in.

Thanks all, and thanks for the further ear plug threads.

What about eye masks? I bought a cheap one recently but the light slightly gets in under my eyes - anyone use one of these they'd recommend? Might be a moot point as I've joined the Fresh n Black crew this year anyway.

If you’ve got a F n B tent, you won’t need one. I’ve also got one and did a test run a couple of weekends ago, it’s properly dark!

I get to the festival Wednesday so I was gonna mooch off and do a few things I’d never had chance to do as most of my mates arrive on Thursday.

On me list so far is

    Stone circle

    Strummerville

    Glastonbury sign

Find the Dragon which is also near Piano bar

    Glastonbury on sea

    Lost Horizons

I feel a bit guilty having not bothered with a lot of these I’ve been every festival since 2013. Been busy though haha. Any other recommendations what I should scope out?

You could also try and find the tunnel under the railway.  Took me 3 festivals to find it!

m not sure where it is but I’m sure my kids will enjoy going on a dragon hunt to try and find it. Talking about dragons, anyone remember this beast

You might want someone to give you a general area to search in.  It's not obvious, or visible from just wandering around the site. You could have some very frustrated kids!  I'm happy to give you some guidance without giving her location away if you DM me 🙂

I'm afraid were far past this option now as we have spent ~£1k on a 8 man tent and a porch add-on 😅 like I said I'm just trying to get a sense of whether the wheels will be large enough to withstand the potential mud

Isn't the bigger issue that you may not be able to take a trolly on the coach at all, never mind two of them?  I've never used the coach before but plenty of people who have, all say that you can't take a trolly.  I think you need a plan B for that eventuality?  What if you get told you can't take them on the coach - do you leave them at the pick up point and jump on regardless?  Just something to consider.
