  1. Can’t believe that was downvoted. Have an upvote to cancel it out. Lovely moment. And here was me thinking I was dealing with not having a ticket…….

I've never got around to visiting lost horizons but it's on my list of things to get to, do you lovely people know if I decide to pay for a one time visit and while there really love it and decide I'm going to come back more often, can I upgrade to a weekend pass by just paying the difference or would I have to pay full price for the weekend pass?

    TIA

I don’t know the official answer but I’d be very surprised if they didn’t let you upgrade by paying the difference. They let us in for a quick look around before we committed to paying last time, they’re pretty laid back.

The official dates on the website are 18th to 20th but we all know it opens on the Thursday, 17th.

When looking at who is playing which day, going to bands websites, those without a specific day all list it as 18th to 20th which is normal.

There are two bands though that actually list Thursday 17th as the day they are playing - might there be a surprise in store with a big stage opening Thursday this year or is it more likely (I think so) the bands just have the dates wrong.

The 2 in question are Reef and Elvana.

Must be a mistake? I reckon they just have the dates wrong.  Elvana have both BD and Camp Bestival listed as 17/08 on their website.

Always aimed for midday in CV, never been an issue. Last few years in crew and we have to wait til 2pm

That’s interesting. Like I said, we’re normally in the car queue at 12 and the campervan fields always look full and people are set up. So I assume they can get in n early?

We've had tents in our lot plus awnings.. Just chat nicely with the boys and girls in yellow..

The website says the car parks open at 12 and we normally get there around then, by which time the camper van fields seem packed, and most people are set up. We’re going in a van this year so, what’s the earliest you can rock up and get on site in your experience?

Got a caravan this year and wondering what the general setup is like in the caravan field. Are we allowed awnings? Or is space tight?

You’ll be fine with an awning, just tell the stewards when they direct you in and they’ll make sure you have enough space

    Hi,

Does anyone know if actual stage times for this year have been published yet and, if so, where?

I want to make a Clashfinder but can’t find times?

    Cheers

Yeah, I don’t think they announce stage times until you get (buy?) a guide on the way in. Like @spgsays though, you’re probably ok to use the times from last year, and insert this years acts.

Does anyone know if the 4K coverage went ahead? Nothing on Iplayer but wondering if it was broadcast live in UHD? Keen to hear how it looked!

Pyramid was definitely live in UHD, it looked amazing. Not sure other stages were? I don’t think it ever got on iPlayer in UHD, only live

Yeah, a lot of it will come down to timings.  But I did so much moving between stages this year (which I wouldn't change as I saw so much!) that I didn't get much downtime. I know the stages are close so it's hardly a marathon, but looking forward to being on a bit less of a timer at BDs.

I know what you mean. This is the only clash I’ll be running between, other than that, I’ll just go with the flow. Going with a fairly big group this year so there’s bound to be some of my gang wherever I end up!

FM are tempting, never seen them before. Here and now I'm seeing a more chilled out fest after the madness of Glastonbury so Beth is winning, although it might change!

You should be able to see both, with just a 15 min overlap. If they stick to the timings of the last few festivals, the main stage headliner is 21.45-23.00 and the big top headliner is 22.45-00.00.
so get on the right side of the crowd for Flogging Molly and then leg it to Beth, sorted. I’ll be doing exactly that! Will decide on the night which 15 mins to miss

maybe a few too many posts during the hardest days of covid while shut away in my flat for 6 months … who knows tbh ?

    Impossible.
You be you. Lotta love for you here. Including from me, and despite a couple of near misses, we’ve never met!

A lot of people I used to do festivals with can't believe I still go to a couple per year and I'm only 40.

Same here mate. I’m 50 and a lot of my mates think I’m mental to camp at festivals rather than glamp, or to go at all! My response is that I ain’t dead yet so I’m getting on with it!

Got Chagstock next weekend (small but great festival) then Beautiful Days coming up.

Where do we think the lads' ceiling is at the festival, assuming no mega leap forward with subsequent albums?

Other headline? Could they get the big one? I thought their Other set was off the charts good.

I absolutely love Idles, but I really can’t see them headlining the pyramid. Could see them headlining the other, but JP headliner slot would be great for them I think.

  15. I wouldn’t worry about the toilets. As has been said in the toilets thread, the festival is actually known for it’s clean and well maintained toilets and last year was a blip. I’ve been several times, including last year, and can confirm this.
As for the festival itself, it’s a great place for family and kids, plenty for them to do and get involved with.
It has a really chilled feel about it, there’s no arena, once you’re in, you’re in, just like the big G and you can bring your own booze to drink anywhere on site.
Personally the line up this year is great, if it’s up your street, go for it. Don’t be put off by the toilet situation last year.
