  1. Thank you! I had to use force. I'll no doubt be back next year to ask exactly the same question.
  2. I can't work out where in the command to put the --overwrite and I've tried every option. I've been putting in get_iplayer --tv-quality fhd --pid= but no matter where I put the overwrite command it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas?
  3. I'm out sadly. 10 Glastonbury's in a row is a very good run. I'm getting married in June and the plan was for this to be our honeymoon (my partner has never been, and it seemed like a perfect opportunity to show her my favourite place on Earth). But we were already struggling with wedding suppliers tripling their prices since Covid, and we just can do it. I have to admit I was underwhelmed by 2022 as well. The music just wasn't for me. The old stuff was too old (all 90's nostalgia) and the new stuff wasn't my thing. Also far too many acts heavily using backing tracks. I'm sad, but I think I'm okay with it. Good luck to everyone trying!
  4. I'm really hoping the photos of Geri Halliwell hugging Nadine Dorries and Liz Truss kind of puts the Spice Girls rumours to bed.
  5. The Billie move in 2019 was facilitated by The Prodigy pulling out, so a gap opened up.
  6. During Sea Girls a guy set off a smoke bomb, but it was so quiet that a security guy just climbed over the barrier, walked up behind him and grabbed it out of his hand. Really made me laugh. They stink, and added to the problem of incessant smoking during Jamie T in the John Peel tent.
  7. Glad to know it wasn't just me with beabadoobee. I ditched Asylums because I'd seen then before and really regret it. Either she was miming or the backing track was massively overpowering. The giveaway seems to be the two guitar amps at the back were neither mic'd up, or switched on.
  8. Whilst heading out of William's Green on Thursday afternoon, two women walked past, all I heard of their conversation was... "I've been here since fucking Monday, I'm GOING to sleep with someone!"
  9. I'm not sure if I hyped it up too much, but I was slightly dissapointed. The start was quite disjointed, and I felt it focused too much on what Glastonbury used to be, rather than what it is now. I get that it was a 50th retrospective, but I've heard all those old stories before. As someone who has been going since 2009, those 10 years were condensed down to just Florence and Stormzy. It also seemed to be a little dismissive of what the festival is now.
  10. Mandala Stage Sunday 1am is Wyldest.
  11. How busy are we expecting Wolf Alice to be on the Friday? I really want to watch a bit of First Aid Kit before wandering over, but don't want to get shut out. Really I should sit through Crowded House, but for me they're an incredibly lame booking.
  12. Maybe after cancelling in 2019, and being offered such a prime spot, he's not taking any chances this time. Baring in mind the Pyramid sub slot probably only came up in the last few weeks when Doja Cat pulled out.
  13. I just listened to The Dying Light for the first time... I now know when I'm going to have at least one of my big ugly cries.
  14. I always thought The Killers John Peel set was a "we can't fit you in as headliners for the next few years, but we can offer you a secret set" type of deal. Then it went down a storm, someone pulled out in 2019, and they got added as a last minute headliner. I'm not sure these secret sets should be seen as setting up future headliners.
  15. My Saturday is looking pretty bleak. The only act I want to see before 16:30 is Holly Humberstone, then there's a five way clash where at most I can see two, then I've got nothing again from 19:45 to 22:30. I'm desperately looking around but so many of the bands seem to be doing this talk singing thing, like Wet Leg, but not as good.
  16. I'm on the train home from Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Brixton Academy. I'm not sure if I was just in a bad mood, but something didn't click for me tonight. I think the sound was all over the place. The vox, guitar and drums were all overpowered by synths. Plus they kept doing 2-3 minutes intros to several songs that didn't build up, it just got boring. Oh and the group of people next to me were irritatingly extra. Would be intrigued to know if anyone else there thought the sound was shit.
  17. I'm not sure many of the young 'uns will be bothered about Jamie T. He's been off the radar for years.
  18. I was worried it would be under-attended as he's up against Macca. I hope not because the atmosphere could be incredible!
  19. They haven't been playing Your Loves Whore on this tour which is a huge shame. I much prefer it over You're A Germ. Still, at least the new songs are of the same quality as the old ones. That's very rare by album 3.
  20. Today I tried out a few bands from gaps in my schedule: English Teacher - Fantastic, and it means I get to start the Friday at my favourite stage. Inhaler - Really quite dreadful. Bono singing Catfish and the Bottlemen songs... yes it's as boring as it sounds. St. Vincent - A bit too weird for me, back catalogue too extensive for three weeks. Sam Fender - Why the hell haven't I listened to him before? I had him down as a James Bay/George Ezra pretty boy type. Turns out the music is really good!
  21. Not really a self confirm, because it's just a guy and a guitar and it's also me, but I've signed up to play the First Stop stage in the Green Fields on the Thursday at 17:00. I'm very excited, now I just need to practice a few covers. I'll probably play a few of my band's songs *cough cough hint hint*
  22. Idles vs Pheobe Bridgers SUUUUUCKS!!!
  23. Last night I officially had my first Glastonbury dream/nightmare of the year where I was at the festival and the lineup still hadn't been announced. Clearly my subconscious knew we're only a month out!
  24. Went to see My Chemical Romance at StadiumMK this evening and had an absolute blast! I've never heard sing-alongs like it, especially during I'm Not Okay and Welcome To The Black Parade. The gig lagged a little during the Danger Days songs. They plod along on the album and it's even worse live. My highlight was Boy Division, but I was very much on my own there. The only other takeaway is I learnt I can't sing emo songs for 2 hours straight without losing my voice.
  25. Ah you are right there. The walk through Silver Haynes is always pretty gross.
