  1. I'm so jealous. I'm working remote from london at the moment, so still keeping nyc hours. which means I'm working til 23:00 up until tuesday evening. my position isn't one that I can really have coverage for, so while I won't be working "officially" during the festival, I will have to occasionally look at email on my phone and send the odd response.

  4. Its after midnight here in NYC, so officially I leave TODAY. My bag is packed. documents are printed. refilled prescriptions. sent a fathers day gift to my dad in the post. the only things I have left to do - buy something in case of blisters on my feet at boots - buy a camping chair/stool somewhere in london - duty free whiskey - call the mobile phone company and switch on the international not long now!
  5. Missy Eliott Annie Lennox Fleetwood Mac
  6. I was. That was a powerhouse performance. I will always remember that show because during "no more drama" i got a text from a friend telling me that gay marriage had finally been legalized in the states.
  7. My flight is on Thursday. I began packing tonight. Finally feeling real!

  9. I arrived home at 6:00am today after a red eye flight from Seattle. I am exhausted, but I would do it all over again times ten. Joni is in better form than any of us could have hoped. To have heard her sing one song would've been enough for me, but this show was three hours long! Annie Lennox signing Ladies of the Canyon was a massive surprise. Night Ride Home actually made me gasp, I didn't dare hope to hear it. Not a dry eye in the house for Both Sides Now and A Case of You. Shine is a song that I never paid much attention to, but may have gotten me crying the hardest. We were row 11 center, so we had a perfect view of everything. This show makes the top three of my life (Along with Kate Bush and David Bowie. Can't rank them, they're all the best) I posted a full video of "Summertime" on my instagram if you're interested. my handle is @yourenotridofme

  11. I didn't realize we had a doctor in the house. Where did you go to medical school Chestwig?
  12. i went and got another vaccine booster on saturday. (5th one overall, plus i've had it twice). Last vax was in October. Dr said it was ok, and so I figured it'd coudn't hurt. Plus, I still mask on public transport. I have too many things going on between now and glasto to stay in.

    The churnups

it's true in the Americas but I'd have guessed they were on par with each other in the UK. I have to say, I'm damn surprised Arcade Fire are still headlining anything.
  14. Last year, I couldn't sleep the night before out of excitement. I decided to pull an all nighter, and by 9am on my way in the gates, I had regretted it. I think I'm too old for all nighters now. Even an hour's sleep would've made the load in better.

    The churnups

I am out of reactions, but applause for this
  16. @ciderdrenchedI think your list is spot on. to name someone who hasnt been mentioned, I could see Elton bringing on Robbie Williams Adele is free on the sunday - it'd be a heck of a flight in from Vegas, so not likely, but not impossible. We all keep thinking that the special guest is an individual, but let's not rule out that it could also be a choir, or a string section - something of that nature.
  17. Just saw that Venbee is playing the Lonely Hearts Club on the friday (amid every other clash, grrr) but I saw them play at SXSW this year and they are brilliant. Hopefully they turn up at some other slots across the weekend

    CMAT

oh no! she needs to add that back to the setlist asap! Yes, to echo everyone else in this thread, CMAT is a must see
  19. I find this super annoying. raise the price 50p if you must, but to do it this way feels like being nickel and dimed. Next they will charge for napkins.
  20. Overheard some folks last year that were disappointed that they nixed the dark rooms. didn't bother me, as I had covid on the mind, but I wonder if they'll be back.

    The churnups

With Dave having been there last year with Paul, it makes sense that they could've started talks for some kind of tribute act. He clearly loves the festival. And if the supergroup thing is true, I could see Florence being a part of it. All speculation of course. I'm not a massive fan of either but it's something I wouldn't want to miss
