Stops all the wristband, pass out, ticket schemes. On the gates now you always have people who've "lost the pass out" or the photo is probably not them (but it's hard to tell).

EPOs (which off site staff use) you scan a QR code and if it's not legit or someone's already in it makes a big error sound and says on the scanner "DO NOT LET THIS PERSON INTO THE FESTIVAL".

Little bit late to the whole EPO thing. But having worked on plenty a gate. The vast majority of people scanning EPOs couldn’t give a monkeys when they get the error message. Wether it’s your average volunteer or exhausted security they’d simply rather not have the agro of telling people they can’t come in when the reason they’re getting the error in the first place was that they weren’t properly checked out in the first place.

Ok. I know it’s been covered before but if I raise Tool enough times perhaps it will make them more likely?

Playing the Friday night in Norway but free for the rest of Glasto weekend and no other dates to rush to afterwards.

Festivals are included in their tour dates so they wouldn’t have production issues brining the show to Glastonbury.

Sunday night Other Stage headliner to contrast Madge on Pointy McPoint Face?

I’ll join you in the manifesting tool club

Someone on the Discord has info they’re playing no?

Would be good to have this rumour about a rumour confirmed.

BMTH are definitely big enough to headline the other. Massive pull with younger crowd given surging popularity over the last few years. Also they have now headlined Reading and Download. Went to both of those shows and it was brilliant both times.

Surely anyone with a job aged 16-22 have the most disposable income? Living at home with less bills. Think I’ve never had more disposable income because when you move out despite earning more your bills just keep getting higher especially at the moment where unless you’re lucky your wage is never increasing at the rate prices are going up.

This is both factually incorrect and a huge generalisation of your own experience to those of others

Sky Bet's top 3 wouldn't be so bad, would it?

Festival heritage band, female superstar, up and coming British star?

    Yikes.

    Not for me.

Dave was whack at reading (nearly fell asleep).

Oh adding on to that, it is now paid entry for the silent disco at both Reading AND Leeds😂 £10 Entry* and a £20 refundable deposit... *On the website it states that £10 is the advance rate for entry, so I'd imagine it'll be more in person there.

This is gonna flop so bad!

Can’t think of any festival where you have to pay to enjoy the late night entertainment?

I’m guessing they’re doing a similar system to boardmasters. Last time I was at Boardmasters you had to pick up headphones for which you payed a deposit, the que to return the headphones backed up for miles, and then they f**ked off home as early as they could leaving loads of people depositless.

I mean, can't some things just be nice things to be enjoyed without them having a sinister meaning?

Pretty sure you can be for peace and also think jets flying in formation is quite cool.

This is a great point. I agree that having the red arrows fly over on a superficial level was nice. But lots of things are superficially nice until we take a closer look at it. The hotter weather caused by climate change is nice and a military parade might be nice to look at.

I don’t think you can be for peace and think jets flying over is cool. I feel we end our solidarity for a cause when we begin to enjoy the benefits of the thing creating the problem. For example you can’t be a good advocate for abolishing oranges when you love citrus fruits, and you can’t be a good advocate for peace if you enjoy a military display.

    Military propaganda? Imperialism?

I think it's a disservice to make such wild (and lazy) statements of a military that, if removed, would signal the end of Britain as you know it. It's not exacly the rebirth of the Empire, is it?

I'll wait for your next comment lathered in buzzwords of jingoism, nationalism, far-right, blah blah blah.

I was not trying to say it was the rebirth of empire.

I feel as though the red arrows are an element of imperialism and military propaganda and therefore I feel we should not have them at a festival which promotes peace.

why do you think I should not use those words? Why do you think such statements are lazy and wild?

I get it, but it's not a scheduled act, they may divert their route a bit to overfly and no doubt let the event know, but it's not a part of the show. They are between booked air shows and buzz the site as a sideshow. We saw them overfly in 2019 and it was 9:56 on the Friday morning.

This is a good point. they are not a scheduled act and I don’t think the Eavii would book them. We can probably infer why they wouldn’t book the red arrows.

What I am trying to understand is wether it is a good thing for them to be flying past. I don’t think it is

Its an aerobatics display team. Its essentially dancing in little planes. Its not exactly an inflatable Oliver Cromwell being paraded - as shows of potential British imperialism go, this really doesn't even slightly register

You’re right it’s not an inflatable Oliver Cromwell being paraded.

However, I disagree that it does not register. thousands of people saw the red arrows fly past, So I do think it registered.

I feel what we are failing to do is draw the connection between the red arrows doing a fly by and military propaganda.

Good luck with that. The wristbands at Glasto are put on pretty tight and with a metal securing thingy. Takes ages to get off after without cutting the wristband.

Probably need to amputate your hand!

Use a plastic bag to remove.

put the bag under the band (if you have skinny wrists will come off like a dream)

  12. Need some recommendations based DJ enjoyers.

can anyone tell me where the finest donk at Glastonbury can be found? (Will settle for hard house // scouse house).

    Thanks a bunch 😉

That’s good to know thanks!! Although I think it would be strange putting him on at the same time as Leon Bridges, I imagine there’s a lot of fan overlap there

For me that would also mean a three way clash with Olivia Rodrigo 😂

Yeah the secret part is called Funkingham Palace and you get to it via the rabbit hole stage.

So the late BBC introducing slot is likely the band that is curating that day (idles or arlo parks that day I think). So it would probably be the early slot if it was BBC introducing.

but most people here seem to think he will be the rabbit hole TBA which clashes with Paul McCartney. So although it’s a small tent there won’t be to much fear of overcrowding

I guess I just couldn’t imagine him not playing a main stage!

I guess the BBC Introducing one could be a bit of a tongue in cheek reference at the fact he’s been away from music for nearly a decade…

I’ve never actually been to The Rabbit Hole because of the whole impossible to get in thing, or is that just for the secret celebrity bit? Is there a normal tent there too?

    There’s a normal tent too

Is there any actual info in Green Day, or just circumstantial?

Several things point to it: Their tour dates match up perfectly with glasto for 2020 and 2022, then there’s someone who heard they’d booked a room at a hotel near glasto, one of their supporting acts is also playing glasto from their tour and billie Joe attended the festival in 2019.

  17. 1 hour ago, Sku said:

It's just hearsay. Someone said they are staying nearby. Someone said they know a mate working JP who says its them. But that is just hearsay.

However, Amyl and the Sniffers, who are their support on the tour are also playing JP that day.

And the other thing, is that the same secret set was also being widely discussed in 2020. And the dates line up exactly the same again in 2022, which lends the idea some credit.

The tour dates matched up in 2020, same with 2022. My mind is blown right now. Are you saying that it could of been Green day secret set in 2020?

This is some first class investigation. I think it could be Green Day. Holy shit.
