  1. re: ing a post from a few pages ago about band seen vs poster

I checked my scribbles from last year and I saw 24 performances over the weekend, of which three were on the poster - GnR, Elton (saw with a big group of friends) and Sparks. the other 21 were on loads of stages, Strummerville, Truth, Glade etc etc

so despite not being amazed by the current poster, I'm totally expecting it to NOT FUÇKING MATTER once i'm esconced onsite and bimbling.

That was for last year, so presumably by now someone knows what mechanisms they used.

Is anyone brave enough to venture into the R+L section?

Its a shame most (ones that i've owned anyway, just android*) phones dont let the built in radio work unless headphones are connected, otherwise, a little 'Pyramid FM' station would be super easy 🙂

*do modern non-headphone jack Apple devices have FM Radio built in?

Too much latency, literally all dancing to a different beat...or none in some cases.

Unless they created a capacious WiFi cell, which would cost and others would try to misuse.

Getting WiFi coverage for the pyramid field for something like that would be easy (source: I do this as part of my job)

    WiFi doesn't mean internet.

If this was to be a thing, i'd get an app that just does streaming from some beefy servers located on site, which only works when connected to the temp wifi. No outside internet available on the WiFi, just the streaming server / website.

spin up lyrics for the big screens, party time 🙂

    £360

    yeah, it's a bargain really

for me i'll be popping along to

    Orbital (current gig tics £43)

    Avril (current gig tics £59)

    Idles (cuurent gig tics £50)

    Breeders (current gig tics £39)

    Shania (current gig tics £112)

LCD Soundsystem (current gig tics £63 (though this is APE) )

    Sleaford Mods (2023 price £23)

which is already £389, and i'll be seeing plenty of other acts as well, anyone that says its not a good deal is a bit odd in my opinion.

Yeah, let's have Kingmaker 4AD along this year - not sure they'll be headlining anywhere though.

10 years asleep is still a banging tune though,

Unless the owners forget to add security - like one festival I attend every year has which allows me to go through their back door and nose at things they have uploaded ready for release later.

yes, theres plenty of fun in the old intitle:"index of /" google seach when you're bored 🙂

If you do any ending on the year you get forbidden such as
    https://cdn.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/

if you can make  a correct guess at something down to item level then it it likely you will see it.

Future years do not exist as WP only creates new folders on 1st Month and first day of a new year so that part makes sense.

the 'forbidden' message is stanbdard web server stuff, it stop browsers viewing the contents of any given folder. nothing to get excited about.

I played in that!  2010 I think?  We raised loads of cash for Wateraid and I broke 2 fingers.  Still got the red Efests T-shirt with 4Assedmonkey on the back.  Good times.

2009 according to my photos 🙂

Interesting - maybe Google has inadvertently leaked two extra dates that haven’t been announced

I'm guessing thats a poorly scraped search result. the O2 site says 14 - 17 , which I guess is just poorly wriiten copy to mean 14 and 17

Other acts are listed for the other days

    ha!

REG: Yeah. All right, Stan. Don't labour the point. And what have the Eavises ever given us in return?!

    XERXES: The water points?

    REG: What?

    XERXES: The water points.

REG: Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah.

COMMANDO #3: And the compost toilets.

LORETTA: Oh, yeah, the compost toilets, Reg. Remember what the portaloos used to be like?

REG: Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the water points and the compost loos are two things that the Eavises have done.

    MATTHIAS: And the trackways.

REG: Well, yeah. Obviously the trackways. I mean, the trackways go without saying, don't they? But apart from the water points, the compost loos, and the trackways--

    COMMANDO: Better drainage on site.

    XERXES: Festival Medial Services.

    COMMANDOS: Huh? Heh? Huh...

COMMANDO #2: Better late licencing for after midnight areas.

    COMMANDOS: Ohh...

REG: Yeah, yeah. All right. Fair enough.

    COMMANDO #1: And the bars.

    COMMANDOS: Oh, yes. Yeah...

FRANCIS: Yeah. Yeah, that's something we'd really miss, Reg, if the Romans left. Huh.

    COMMANDO: Glamping.

LORETTA: And it's safe to walk the old railway path at night now, Reg.

FRANCIS: Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it. They're the only ones who could in a place like this.

COMMANDOS: Hehh, heh. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.

REG: All right, but apart from the water points, festival medical services, better late licencing for after midnight areas , the bars, public order, better drainage on site, trackways, compost toilets, and less mudbaths, what have the Romans ever done for us?

    XERXES: Booked Coldplay.

    REG: Oh. Coldplay? Shut up!

Be interesting to see what media outlets get free tickets, and what just get a press pass.  Not really sure what the benefit of the press pass would be if it didn’t include a ticket?

Orgs like the BBC get 'free' tickets, so staff can go as punters, this would alos include people who need 'press pass' access because they are working using their free ticket, eg photographers who need stage access etc, so they'd get the press pass as well.
