We Cry Together was a bit of tough to listen to but I assume that's the point. The song is fantastic when they go from talking to switching up flows and Taylour Paige should I say out shines Kendrick here, she is fucking great. I am guessing as many others, this will most likely be a skip for me but knowing Kendrick the song is there for a reason.

N95 and Baby Keem's family ties are cut from the same sample or am I hearing things? I know Kendrick in the past said that Keem used one of the samples he was gonna used and was blown away with what he done with it, maybe N95 was that?

As Matt said above way more digestible than TPAB but without the big singles. Plenty of songs here that slap and I think will translate well live though. The deep moments though, just wow. I don't think it will knock GKMC of the top spot for me but it's up there.

With pretty much every one of my favourite artists there is a little bit of creeping doubt about dropping a stinker. There is no an ounce of doubt in me on this one, he can't miss. Even if he goes all Kanye and thinks his god like mentioned above he will drop some sure fire bangers of biblical proportions.

Got 6 for o2. Yea the price rise sucks but its going to be the new norm at this point especially when most bands make their money through tours now and its Arcade Fire, so I was always gonna pay it but as Hugh said above with how high arena's set their prices now it makes festival and even day festivals seem like an absolute bargain now. The National at All Points East for £70 quid is a steal!!!!

Because of your short controversial opinion with attempt to join the discussion. I won't post another Google definition but I'd imagine it would be close to the above and still wouldn't say being called a troll is an attack.

Not really an attack though is it? People are just interested in to why you have your opinion, that differs so heavily from the populas, when you really gave nothing in your short "I listened, I don't like" post.

Finished with my 3rd listen now. End of The Empire I-III and WE were great this time though, still not 100% behind the The Lightning but I think that stems from it being quite similar in tone to Everything Now and my mother in law slayed that song and still continues to every time I go round with about between 4 to 10 plays in a standard evening. So its really just Sagittarius A* that misses the mark for me.

I very much enjoyed the album but I went with the mind set it won't be like the early stuff as EN showed us the turn and The Lightning reaffirmed their new direction whether it is intentional or not. I too think the subject matter and lyrical delivery can be a little grating but they leaned into it a little on Reflektor but was blended a tad better between the guise of love songs. I purposely avoided any other contact with this album other than The Lightning and I have to say I really think there are some real top quality tracks on this record. I enjoyed the middle section but the flaws of their previous miss steps are very evident but I think End of Empire 1-111 has a Bowie kind of build I think will grow with time but Sagittarius A to Lightning 2 are the lows. On the other hand I think Age of Anxiety, Rabbit Hole, Lookout Kid, Race & Religion are up their with the highlights of EN and Reflektor and that is on first/second listen. Its obviously not Funeral but it was never going to be but I really think we have 4 or 5 songs here that could stick about and hang out with their best in set lists to come.
