  1. Went to North. Panicked after reading all the horror stories from South and so got to the festival early. Luckily we were staying nearby so only a 15 minute drive plus only 15/20 mins sat in the car park queue. Got to the village in plenty of time which was rammed. I fully agree with everyone's complaints. The queues were absolutely horrendous other than the bars. I ended up only eating an ice cream all day as it had the smallest queue and I couldn't afford missing anyone I wanted to see. Absolutely hated the Kerrang tent and how it slopes upwards towards the stage so the closer you get, the worse view you have. But the music more than made up for it. Heriot smashed the Knotfest tent, such a great start to the day. Also enjoyed Higher Power and SeeYouSpaceCowboy. Spanish Love Songs and Holding Absence back to back made me more emotional than I expected 😪 Gogol Bordello was the most fun I had all day, they really are an amazing festival band. Managed to squeeze in 15 mins of Kids In Glass Houses, was a bit disappointed as I thought they would be playing Smart Casual front to back so I could catch Saturday but alas, they still sounded brilliant. The Menzingers was another highlight, everyone around me was dancing which definitely helped. It was then a rush to catch the last few bands as I had Creeper, Malevolence and The Offspring back to back. Really enjoyed Creeper and Malevolence but The Offspring lost me a bit when Noodles did his covers bit part way through. Probably didn't help that I was really hungry and could hear Enter Shikari in the background between songs, whom I'm sure were top tier as usual. All in all, I've never had a bad time at Slam Dunk and it really is my favourite festival music wise but they really need to make some big changes next year if they want to keep the loyal fans coming.
  2. Heriot > Vukovi > SeeYouSpaceCowboy > Spanish Love Songs > Holding Absence > Static Dress > Gogol Bordello > First few songs of Kids In Glass Houses > The Menzingers > Pvris > Creeper > Malevolence > The Offspring Stacked day, no doubt I will end up missing a couple of these for toilet/cider breaks. Spanish Love Songs, Gogol Bordello, The Menzingers, Creeper, Malevolence and The Offspring are my must sees.
  3. I had already told myself I wouldn't go this year during last year's festival. For me, it was quite nice to see a lineup which didn't align with my interests anymore to help reassure me that this was the right decision. It's a shame as it's been such a wonderful part of my life since 2015 but it's time to move on.
  4. My search when I first entered the festival consisted of security asking me if I had any glass bottles, me replying no and then walking straight in. Searches to get into the arena varied greatly. Occasionally had my bag searched thoroughly, got patted down once. Queued in a few very slow moving lines which after a while, a member of staff would shout "let's fast track these people in" where security would suddenly stop caring about searching people and let loads of people through quickly with barely a look. I've always been super lucky in the campsite. Camped in green for about 5 years and never had a whiff of trouble.
  5. Pretty much certain this year will be the last time I go for the whole weekend, however it was a nice send off to what has been a nice little tradition for me and my friends since 2015. Friday highlights: Frank Carter was such a great start to the day and the festival, no surprises there. Little Simz is bloody brilliant. Only discovered her after her most recent album so was nice to hear a lot of those songs during the set. The Interrupters may have been the band of the day for me, they make me happy and I don't think I stopped dancing the whole time. (I definitely called the secret set on the old thread 😂) . Fever 333 are always on top form, was nice to see such a packed out tent. Saturday highlights: Static Dress pulled a decent crowd and the pit was brutal. Great to see them gaining some popularity. Enter Shikari are probably my favourite band on the lineup. Was gutted their set was cut short but they always deliver. Wolf Alice had an almost perfect setlist, sang along to every word. Bring Me The Horizon were the best act of the weekend. Was concerned about them not playing anything older than Sempiternal but it really didn't matter. The songs from Post Human: Survival Horror sounded massive. Sunday highlights: Was pleasantly surprised by Willow, really enjoyed her rock infused tracks. Denzel Curry is fab, he's got to be one of the best modern rappers. Run The Jewels were so fun and gave me some much needed energy on Sunday afternoon. Having only minimal interest in Halsey before the festival, she really blew me away. Shame her set was closed so won't be able to watch it back. The only really disappointing part of the whole festival was Danny Brown storming off. I was relatively far back in the tent so unsure whether I've got all the details but 3 songs in, he asked the crowd if they were excited for Ardee and people starting chanting his name. I didn't hear any boos from where I was but apparently there were. It all happened so fast, I was super confused and thought it was part of the act at first. Gutted because he was the last act I really wanted to see at the festival.
