is that Lloyds ((I'm asking cos I've has that before), if you look at the screen text it might give some alternative ways to verify - try those.

it sat as pending for about 4 days for me last year - it's perfectly normal

The biggest problem for me is how narrow the Shangri-la walk way is from the temple to nowhere, it's a huge bottleneck.

This.   First year we went we avoided the Truth stage because we assumed from struggling to get through the pathway at the top it would be rammed. but once you get off the path and into the stage area there's usually lots of space.    Doing that walk to get to Skindred this year was probably the only time the crowds felt uncomfortable for us

Were they any good?  Big crowd?

Tent was full - MC reckoned biggest audience for an opening act, but he could just have been excited.   I enjoyed them enough to get tickets to see them again later this year.   They certainly have more than the one song everyone knows.  Godzilla was a highlight.   Their stage outfits / style  will only exacerbate the Wet Leg comparisons

  4. Re: The toilets- I found it much quicker to just go down and use the longfdrops at Summerville on the way in - no queues and clean at that time of day.

I agree with the point about the stones butmpresumably would have been helpful if it rained to stop the path turning into a mudslide.  I do miss the steps and view from pre-2022 though.

Did they give you a tracking ref?

I didn't get an email or tracking number, then the tickets arrived out of the blue by standard second class post.  checking on the website it still says

"Tickets will be sent by secure delivery shortly to the address provided.
You will be required to sign for them.

Tickets have been sent to our secure courier on 08 Jun 2023."

  6. Mine arrived this morning - but just via Royal Mail standard second class post.   No dispatch email, no tracking, no signature required.  Very glad it’s here but had it been lost there’d have been no way of tracing / even knowing it was missing.  I assumed before I opened it it was the WV car park ticket.    Anyone else got theirs this way?

  7. Had a dispatch ticket for my Worthy View car parking pass, but no movement on dispatch for the actual tickets yet.  Getting paranoid and having nightmares about having to park at WV then somehow getting round to gate A to collect tickets....

If I remember WV wristband, ticket and a pass out slip

They've changed this now - in 2017 you had to swap ticket for a wristband and go through security/bag search etc. every time (a looooog queue on the Friday morning), whereas last year it was just a wristband and no security other than checking wrist band.  Much faster.

  9. I've gone from being 99% Pulp to 50/50.   Seeing Pulp a couple of weeks later so on balance a bit of Food would be good, although happy either way.

would they potentially clash foos/pulp on the Friday to split the crowd?

no names on there i specifically would want to see - however Strummerville is one of those areas i have spent next to no time at and this year i fully intend to check it out more regardless who's there.

It's a great little area.  We stay at Worthy View so it's the perfect place for a nightcap.

Also... there are so many non-stadium/arena Britpop-era bands gigging these days that I'm amazed that none of them have ended up in this year's Avalon (or possibly Acoustic) line-up... there's Cast, Ocean Colour Scene, Sleeper (who are incredible live, btw), Space, Shed 7, Ash, Black Grape, Echobelly, Kula Shaker, My Life Story, Northern Uproar, Symposium... plus slightly earlier bands like Inspiral Carpets, Terrorvision, Jesus Jones, James, Wonder Stuff...

Had a great time at Reef in the Avalon tent last year, so I'm surprised that we don't have at least 2 or 3 from the above in this year's Avalon or Acoustic line-up.

I reckon a few of them could pop up early on the other stage.  Would second catching Sleeper live - they're great fun.

in the pulp facebook group so I don't believe it at all. It was first mentioned last week and then has been brought up again. Personally I think there won't be a support and it'll just be a slightly longer set so they can test more material before the festivals. Just saw that Baxter Dury has been announced as support for the London and Cardiff gigs so the only one without a support now is Brid

Have they announced support for Scarborough - can't seem to see anything online

  13. i've always found at both pyramid/other if you stand at the side of the front on the right hand side you can normally slide in to the front if you get there just as the previous act finishes and you don't mind walking across a tide of people leaving.   Last year on the Saturday was tough - we ended up (more by luck than anything) at the front row for Haim and decided to stay there for McCartney.  The show was amazing, but the wait without a planned wee/food was not.
