  1. So, in summary of the last 3-4 pages this morning, would it be fair to say that they'd be better off building an ark rather than a pier?
  2. Thinking of ditching the wellies this year and relying on walking trainers for the dry and my 1460 DM's for wet with sealskinz. I can walk fine in my wellies, but the moment the sun comes out its like poaching my feet in their own juices! For those swearing by DM's in muddy conditions, are we talking leather 1460 type boots or some of the utility style boots?
  3. I was really surprised and disappointed that The Mysterines weren't on the line-up. Checking their website they're definitely free. Williams Green Thursday?
  4. I like this voice of reason!
  5. Turnstile on the JP poster today must be a good indication that they'll be there? Fingers crossed!
  6. I had another tattoo done yesterday and we listened to metal all afternoon. There were 5 of us in the studio and we talked for ages on the amazing amount of variation and innovation across the genre. Obviously, we were all fans of metal so at risk of bias, but in my view it is such a misunderstood genre, lots of people dismiss it without ever giving it a proper go. Metal is massively underrepresented generally, with only really Mary Ann-Hobs on 6 giving it a regular prime-time airing on a main stream station (to my knowledge!). It’s disappointing that Glastonbury only treat it as a once in a while curiosity. If there is space for Jazz, Folk, Country, Spoken Word and what seems like a million sub-genres of dance music, then there should always be space for metal.
  7. Its a massive shame. Seems Glastonbury cater for almost every contemporary musical taste but metal!
  8. I'll float the idea of Royal Blood for JP TBA. They'll be on a European tour, but unusually have a full week off between 23rd and 30th June.
  9. Fontaines DC vs Amyl and the Sniffers is so not fair.
  10. I've seen them about 5 times now. One of the best live acts I've seen in a long time, cant wait to see them and hear these new tunes on the Farm.
  11. I’m sure ‘the festival’ are disappointed, but they’ve had bigger acts pull out before and with less time to react. I’d imagine they’ll be working hard to find a replacement if possible, but they won’t panic. In fact, with the pandemic as the backdrop, they may already have agreements with acts willing to effectively be super-subs for any late withdrawals.
  12. Just had my email! It’s really happening!

Wall building crew seem to have hit the accelerator this morning!
  14. No, the delegates pass includes access to everything. I must admit, this year it only really came in useful at the bigger venues and for headline acts. Most the of the smaller places didn't give much priority to delegates, and I spent a lot of time at Alt Escape gigs. I'm going to think twice about getting one next year.
  15. Yes!! I was introduced to this concept in 2019 and 1) i loved it and 2) I cursed myself for not thinking of it years before!

The costs are in the millions.
  18. I also loved Panic Shack, Peaness and Kills Birds! Really loved Enola Gay, Kid Kapichi and Crawlers. I was massively impressed with a lot of the localish bands on the Alt Escape, they wont be anywhere near the Glastonbury bill just yet, but I will be keenly following the likes of Snayx, Monakis, Arxx and Libralibra. Fantastic local music scene down there!
  19. I had an amazing time at Great Escape last week, it got me very excited for Glastonbury! Quite a few of the bands I saw had a 'perfect for Williams Green' vibe so I'm really looking forward to that coming out and hopefully a few of them are on there. Have they had their own announcement before or do we have to wait for the full line-up?
  20. Had an amazing time at Great Escape, my feet are ruined and i'm still not feeling great, but loved every minute. Great training run for Glastonbury! Highlight acts were Bob Vylan, Snayx, Enola Gay, Kid Kapichi, Libralibra, Crawlers, Arxx and Panic Shack. Bob Vylan and Enola Gay were amazing.
