I'm sure they'd love to, but they came up with this big flagship policy, so either stick with it and defend it from Tory attacks, or drop it and look uturny and indecisive and just a bit boring same old but maybe a bit more competent.
The problem they'll find, the public don't know that they will be more competent. And the more they U-turn and show no conviction in their ideas, the less and less people will believe that they can be competent

Tory's re-writing Labours election manifesto one attack at a time. They must be dying of laughter over at CCHQ. Starmer U-turns more than Theresa May did, and she was basically a spinning top by the end.
Seriously, how are they falling into this trap again? Decade after decade. They're so determined to give the Tory's nothing to attack, there'll be nothing for the non-affiliated public to vote for come the election. If they think 'vote for us because we're not them' will be enough, they're sadly mistaken.

That Blair guy again
He's not wrong though.

The undercard is very strong, but its not shaping up as a vintage year for headliners. The Chats are a weak ass headliner.

Looks like the announcements not at 10am then
I was just coming on to ask what time the announcement would be. Either lunchtime or 5pm then?

Thought I'd target Downloaders who go to gigs in Glasgow.
I understand your point. Can you recommend where I should post this?
The Glastonbury Chat section is the most populated part of the forum.

Hi there,
I am a fourth year BA (Hons) Criminology and Sociology undergraduate student at the University of Stirling.
For my dissertation, I've decided to research 'The Causes and Prevalence of Sexual Violence at Live Music Events in Glasgow, Scotland'.
The survey takes around 2 to 5 minutes to complete.
You must be:
- 18+
- Have attended at least one gig in Glasgow, Scotland.
Any participation is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share! Hope this reaches some Scottish-based Downloaders, or anyone who has attended a gig in Glasgow.
Why have you only posted this in the Download section of the forum?

When it comes to 'pervy' acts, Madonna must be right up there?

The price of gigs is ridiculous- it really has to be justified for me to pay these sort of prices. I'd rather see smaller bands in smaller venues for about £20ish, cos thats all a bit more appealing in terms of the price, the night out, the experience, everything - but i missed Slipknot this year at Download, and my mate is desperate to see them, so this is a bit of a one off.
And compared to some of the prices at the o2 £80 for standing isn't actually too expensive, its towards the cheaper prices for events at that place. Which breaks my brain a bit, its a shopping centre . . .
I completely agree with this. I tend to just do local gigs, up and coming bands for £10-£20, and see the bigger acts at festivals were there is more value for money. I also appreciate that I'm quite lucky living in Nottingham as we're generally always on the touring schedule for small-mid level bands.

Looking for a Glastonbury alternative for next summer. Does Boardmasters usually sell out?

Either way, Reading have outdone Download easily
What a crazy conclusion to draw! It's a shame about Spiritbox as I would have liked to see them at Download, but the only other crossover artist is Blink, who I can take or leave. Other than that there is nothing to compare. And as for the rest of the Reading announcement... I thought it was uninspiring and a little bit sh*t!

Seems to be sold out already. Shame, looking for a Glastonbury alternative and that could have been perfect.

I think it’s a much stronger lineup than Download which is making my decision harder!

I think its been said before, but a couple of really wet festivals with lots of mud would probably massively help stop the growth in the number of people trying for tickets year on year.

The system is fine as it is. The reality is the odds are massively against you, it is a lottery and down to luck. I would say less than 5% of tickets went to people gaming the system, the rest just went to regular punters going through the motions like the rest of us.
How can you possibly know that?
-
Can we not until at least Monday?
-
That's the last two Thursdays and a Sunday without going past the holding page for 12 of us. Last try on Sunday, if no joy I'm knocking it on the head. It's a good festival, but it really isn't worth this level of frustration anymore. It's just become silly.

Yea, there's a glaring omission, staring them in the face.
Have they 'forgot about' him again?

Avril would be hugely popular. On a similar theme, Sum 41 would be so much fun. The Download show is not being billed as their last UK appearance, so it might be possible!
-
If that’s the lineup it’s very weak.
