  1. Amaarae would be good good good. Playing Primavera.
  2. Kali Uchis has announced her pregnancy, so that has to rule her out in all probability
  3. A change in branding is probably the beginnings of the 2024 comms plan, which obviously will include Announcements!
  4. When you see it like that, pretty astonishing cultural and social impact achieved against fixed assets that equate to a couple of houses on a street in London.
  5. I think it's probably more viable at that age than when they start moving around. From a rationalist perspective, it's quite a lot of money and effort to go to the festival, plus the commuting time to and from Taunton, and probably not see most of the highest quality acts. But then again, the experience will probably feel quite special and compensate for that, and like for her, it might be a priceless thing to get to do this so soon after giving birth.
  6. How did we get to the situation where we have not just one, not two, but actually three incredibly earnest mega-bands from the 00's that just want to play the festival every year and might in fact do it for free. Nice problem for the festival to have of course, but take a break fellas please. P.s. if we can't get Madge, get Santan in.
  7. Are the departures listed currently the full extent of the coaches that will be run?
  8. Shame about Clipse not being G bound. FFS.
  9. No hosts file here but I noticed that prior to the sale my work laptop had made it onto a different page compared to my phone and tablet. When the sale started I got that deposit splash page but it instantly failed over (Possibly due to autorefresh) Eventually this was the device that got into the payment page whilst there wasn't a sniff on other devices. It certainly seemed to be the best performing device in our household but no idea why. There's got to be something load balancing related to that but it didn't prove to be the golden ticket that others described where you can go forwards and backwards through the screens at will.
  10. Ultimately no system is undefeatable or perfectly fair. Keith Bontrager once said of bike wheels "strong, light, cheap - pick two". You've got a system which needs to be stood up a couple of times a year to handle 80000 transactions in an hour and manage millions of unique attempts. It's not great and clearly there's a massive flaw this time around but there's also no guarantee that there wouldn't have been issues with any other vendors either, all of whom are mired in their own controversies. Overall, I'd take a charmingly sh*t medium sized enterprise over the usual live event monopolists getting more of a foothold in the festival.
  11. Will anyone really be outraged if Emily intimated that was not necessarily the line up and then it was because of things not being fully nailed down? When the alternative might be P!nk?! The majority will think SO WHAT? We've got Madonna.
  12. Did anyone see a Helecopter take off and loop over the Pyramid field before heading away, must have also been Saturday afternoon? Did not like that one bit.
  13. Given all the off site glamping options and all the already monetised space beyond the festival borders, it feels like the only opportunity to raise the camping capacity is to eat in to car parking space. If they can do that, they can probably solve a number of present issues. Unlikely though.
  14. Nooo, would have been bang up for that.
  15. Was also performed by Dave, to a rapturous response, on the Other Stage a mere 6 days ago.
  16. One thing this new system is really likely to catch out is those who have someone in their group that is double dipping between groups. Because of the increased velocity of the sale, it feels like it's going to be harder to recover from an error, like someone in your group already having a ticket against their registration.
  17. Not the most judicious ratings but have only been to a couple of low key events since the pandemic thanks to the bambino. Friday James Acaster & Nish Kumar (Cabaret) - 7.5 Texas - 8 Foo Fighters - 8 Fred Again - 9.5 Dennis Ferrer - 8.5 (Only 20 mins or so but what a 20 mins) Arctic Monkeys - 10 Daphni & Floating Points (Arcadia) - 6.5 (wasn't quite in the headspace for this) The Blessed Madonna (Nowhere) - 7 (would have probably gone higher but it was rammed and was basically more in the thoroughfare than the stage) Sat Sudan Archives - 8 Couple of pretty poor Circus acts - 5 Aitch - 7 Maggie Rogers - 7.5 Lizzo - 10 Earl Sweatshirt - 6 Central Cee - 8.5 Loyle Carner - 9 Nia Archives Up Ya Archives (Levels) - 9.5 Daniel Avery - 8 Sun High Society (Circus Big Top) - 8 Johnny Awsum (Cabaret) - 7 Fatboy Slim (Greenpeace) - 8 Blondie - 8 The War on Drugs - 9.5 Rudimental - 9 Think this means a top 3 of - Arctic Monkeys - Lizzo - The War on Drugs
  18. Rick & Blossoms. Heard it from the tent whilst prepping for the evening and on the way to see Lizzo but it sounded absolutely fantastic in concept and execution.
  19. This was the scene 4 mins before Rudimental were due to start, but as noted, it soon swelled to a very respectable and fun crowd. Everyone brought it.
  20. Best: Poutine! (Leftfield) Worst: Mexicana Cantina Chilli Burrito (Williams Green). Bland af and the fella who put it together might as well have just thrown it onto your lap it was wrapped that badly.

    Delights from 2023

Water infrastructure - it was absolutely great and really easy to get water and refil throughout the day around the site.Toilets were great too. I...quite liked Carhenge. Sorry. There aren't that many places to sit down and chill in the central site, especially when there are huge daytime acts on the Pyramid, so that was quite welcome. I wasn't blown away artistically but it provided an unexpected utility. Frozen Margaritas Generally, bars were pretty good and quick, the BrewBar which sold cans of Shipyard and was in easy walking distance of the Other Stage was particularly useful, almost never busy. Draft craft IPA at Trickett's. Rudimental. Completely side-stepped the Elton-phant in the room and produced a fantastic show of live DnB. A few moments before they started there must have been 300 people there but with the inevitable Elton dropouts it soon swelled to a very respectable and up for it crowd. The fella at the pyramid store merch tent who was prepared to give us £20 cash and let me paypal him the dough so that we could buy our daughter a Glasto tee, absolute hero. Scouser of course. Silver Hayes was so much better than before. The Other Stage is brilliant now, used to be an absolute shocker. All three of the subs were great and bathed in a beautiful evening sunshine. Woodsies has a lot of promise, that new section of the wood was amazing lit up. Some interesting stuff going on by the tree in the Woodsies field at around 3am. The Coop is dead handy. Poutine stall. All the volunteers. The entire festival!
  22. Getting out the carpark after the headliners on Sunday was an absolute joke, so I think that's a valid moan. Other than that, pretty minor stuff: The Frozen Margarita machine breaking at the Meeting Place bar was a bit of a tragedy People who wanted to chat but were very very resistant to the idea of anyone getting beyond them to enjoy the music rather than their voice Toilet capacity & lack of water at Lime Kiln People getting annoyed that you might need to step over their huge stack of bags and mats right before the pyramid headliner

Up Ya Archives on Sat was absolutely brilliant

    Football Shirt Crew

Quite a lot of pros: - Easy way to introduce colour & pattern into outfits - Normally something you already have or a second or third hand garment - Quite light and airy to wear - Looks sick
