  1. I don't think they've done enough since to get bumped up, feels like they were really really popular that year, especially with that King Krule song. I had that stuck in my head all year.
  2. I really hope this is the case but I have a gut feeling Glastonbury will be the only uk festival they do. It feels more likely to me that the band will just take a short rest between Warsaw on Wednesday and Lowlands on Saturday, but I guess Netherlands isn't that far from UK. Hope I'm wrong though, they're top of my list for potential headliners.
  3. Managed to get Last Dinner Party tickets this morning so that guarantees they'll play now!
  4. Wonder if playing Cardiff so close to this rules them out, would love them though, I was tempted by the Cardiff Bay show.
  5. Ideal headliners for me are The Smile, Pj Harvey and Big Thief but I can't see them being able to afford both of those first two.
  6. I'm still unsure about Alvvays, there's been several occasions where they've been about that weekend and still not played. As someone's already said, their tour dates end the start of August and they're in Europe all summer. Love them to bits but I reckon it'll be another year where they could but they don't.
  7. Something like that would be great and screams Green Man, something that very few other festivals have this summer is one of the biggest appeals of the festival for me (Kraftwerk in 2023, Devo last year etc.)
  8. Is The The based on their September dates or are they about closer to the festival?
  9. The Last Dinner Party have Rock En Seine on their tour dates, although I'm not sure I'd them doing the rising stage last year rules them out of this year. I wanna say that bands on the rising stage have played a bigger slot in the subsequent year though? Really enjoying their debut album over the weekend.
  10. End of the road announcement next week, will probably give us a good idea of what headliners not to expect?
  11. Not sure if the Cardiff Castle show reduces the chances of them but Idles being at Lowlands, new album out and natural progression from headlining the Far Out stage in 2019 could all point towards them headlining perhaps. Feel like the top of the lineup could end up being quite male-dominated though if this is the case, unless they've got PJ Harvey or Sleater Kinney. I prefer it not to be Jesus and The Mary Chain(don't dislike them, just seen before and didn't think they were anything amazing). Metronomy were the perfect start to the festival in 2022 for me.
  12. Based on who is touring around the festival, the biggest "wants" for me are The Smile and Phoenix. Would love Fontaines but probably too soon since the last headline slot and I'm not sure if they've fallen in stock since then. It felt like they had a lot of publicity and momentum behind those first two albums. I wonder if they'll end up playing in a non-headline slot in a few years.
  13. How many years do we reckon before a headliner could potentially repeat at Green Man?
  14. For me, it's more that they've just shown up at a lot of festivals I've done over the last few years, usually in smaller slots. However at Green Man, I imagine they'd be given a bigger slot and I'd rather that go to someone else. I love their studio material but have never been able to click with the jam like nature of their live sets.
  15. Really hoping we don't have Yo La Tengo.
  16. Future Islands have a new album out in January 👀👀👀 (Look I just really want last year's EOTR lineup, I haven't been able to go in the last 5 years due to being a teacher)
  17. Do we think the Pixies are small enough now to headline? They've continued to downsize the festivals/slots they play for the last couple years. Whilst I think they lack a certain kind of charisma/showmanship on stage, their back catalogue would go down a treat I reckon. When they played Cardiff in 2016, they blasted through all their hits without saying a peep.
  18. Idles have a new album out in February, I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but it'll have been 4 years since they headlined the far out stage, could see them headlining the main stage now.
  19. I'd love The Smile, didn't manage to get to any of their dates but I reckon they cost a fortune to book, do we know of any independent festivals that are a similar size to Green Man that have managed to get them to play? With the Walkmen booked this year, I'm hoping there might be potential for Interpol at some point, they headlined a smaller UK festival earlier this year and I could see them doing a great job.
  20. Who do we reckon will play next year then? I'm keeping an eye out for Parades De Coura's lineup as that's usually a good indicator. After their performance in Cardiff, I'd love Chemical Brothers to do the big electronic slot that we've seen Kraftwerk, Hot Chip, Four Tet play over the last few years. Hoping we get a few from this year's EOTR. (would happily take Wilco, Future Islands, UMO, Wet Leg or Angel Olson) Would love to see Black Midi, Villagers and Stella Donnelly return.
  21. We did this in 2019, I'll be honest we did not realise it was quiet camping for a while, if I remember correctly, that year it was a single vertical banner at the other end of the field that told you it was quiet camping.
