  1. Thanks. I'm currently stuck in a seemingly never ending 30 second loop on the website! May be here a while....
  2. How much cheaper were early birds? I got stuck in a bloody meeting and am only trying to log on now.
  3. Oh no, that's not good. You'll be missed.
  4. Surely it won't be an underwhelming announcement like Demarco? I'm going for SFA.
  5. Yes you can take your own drinks in. There was one year when they made a vague attempt to stop people who were walking through drinking cans but it only lasted a few hours. The music is always great. There's more going on than EOTR as they have 5 stages plus pop up sets in the record shop and 3 of the stages run until about 3am.
  6. It's tough. I love the Rising Stage at GM and the Far Out is way better than the stuffy Big Top. The mountain backdrop is also something spectacular. EOTR on the other hand has the Garden Stage which is my favourite festival stage anywhere and the wooded areas are so beautiful. We really are blessed to have 2 incredible, independent festivals like them.
  7. Yes, you won't regret it. I also recommend going to GM for the settlers camp and camping for the full week if you can because it's just a great way to ease into the festival and means you are all ready and relaxed when the main arena area opens. The Garden always was the main stage at EOTR before they expanded the festival (back in the good old days when it was all trees!)
  8. If you haven't been to Green Man then there's a possibility you'd enjoy it just as much, if not more than EOTR. There's LOADS more for kids to do there, the site is lovely, the music is on a par and the people are just as nice (loads go to both GM and EOTR)
  9. There was an extra field opened up behind Family camping which is where they moved Quiet camping to and there was LOADS of room in it. Also plenty of room in the section that used to be boutique camping as long as you don't mind being on a bit of a slope. I didn't go to the normal general camping area so can't comment on that.
  10. He was replaced by Lice who absolutely smashed it.
  11. The light up dance floor was in a separate area behind the disco ship. No idea if they had different DJ's to the disco ship as I only walked around there during the day. I was waiting for the Just Mustard signing when those people were still there for Keeley Forsyth, but yeah, fair play to them for hanging around so long. Not sure if I mentioned Just Mustard in my earlier post so now's as good a time as any because they were bloody great. As were caroline who I also didn't credit. I loved the fact the crowd were deadly silent during their gig unlike the idiots who chatted all the way through Jerkcurb and Sorry. If people aren't that bothered about the band then fuck off outside the tent and chat there. It's not like it was raining or cold and you need to be inside.
  12. Guardian review here. Maybe a bit harsh on Damon Albarn but then I only saw about half an hour of his set. Can't say I've seen anyone else mention him here so far as a highlight though. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/sep/06/end-of-the-road-2021-review-little-simz-hot-chip-damon-albarn
  13. I have so much love for this festival and cannot express how much admiration I have for the organisers and staff for the tireless work they put in to make it happen. We had an absolutely amazing time, saw some incredible music, met up with a load of great people and drank and ate very well indeed. Highlights: Warmduscher, Lice, Crack Cloud, Little Simz, Just Mustard, Wu-Lu (my word, those last few songs and the drummer's epic stagedive) Stereolab, Kikagaku Moyo, Lazarus Kane (please don't stop now), PVA. Being back at Larmer Tree, I think this is the 15th festival I've been to on that site going back to Big Chill's in the 90's and it never loses its charm and magic. Other stuff: Beer was decent and I didn't miss Beavertown's wallet busting prices. Enough food although a couple of stalls were sorely missed. Shout out to Dosa, Curry Shed and Persian Street Food all of who were excellent. Stranger Than Paradise. Please have them back next year instead of Rough Trade again. A proper independent shop with amazing staff. Really loved what they did this year. The wooded area was so lovely again, it's beautiful to wander around at night when it really comes alive. Toilets weren't up to Andy Loos standard but I didn't have too many issues as long as I took my own bog roll. Can someone have a word with whoever picks the frankly awful music blaring from the Cider Bus on Thursday night? I love drifting off to sleep with the hubbub of festival noise in the background but when it's the only thing playing until 3am and 80% of it is utter shite it's really quite annoying. They obviously had issues with the crew wifi which meant some places reverted to cash only. Didn't bother me as I had plenty on me but can see how it would have impacted others and also the trade of the businesses. The people. We all know things are a bit shit in the world so a huge group hug to the amazing crowd who contribute towards make EOTR such a beautiful festival. It was genuinely heartwarming to see so many happy, smiling faces around. Big love to you all.
  14. There's absolutely loads of camping space still here. They've opened up another field behind where the family camping is.
  15. Modern Woman are playing in the video
  16. I'm on the way! Hope you have got some more of that mango rum!
  17. They're playing a 12 hour set on the Piano Stage each day which means they clash with everyone.
  18. Just stuck the out of office on and logged off. Now I'm massively excited. All the last minute changes just make it even more intriguing and eventful. Tempted to leave now and sleep in the car outside like one of those weird people who queue up overnight for a slightly newer iPhone.

    Weather

Urgh, we have to pack up on Sunday as we leave after Richard Dawson has finished because my other half has work on Monday morning. Hate packing away in the rain!
  20. You're not allowed a beer until my tent is up as well, and seeing as it's the first time I've done it on my own it might take a while!
  21. Guess I better buy one then as I totally missed that change!
  22. I have this on the email when I bought tickets in February.
