    Maceo's

I love Tow and Hitch, nice seating and decor, great viewing platform for Arcadia.. I don’t tend to spend a lot of time in bars at Glastonbury, just get a drink and wander, but T&H changed my opinion of that. I enjoyed Maceos too, had a really good dance in the horse box 🙃 Will miss them this year when I’m not working.
  2. I think it depends what works for you, I tend to have fairly light periods so period pants are a good option. I was working last year too so I could get a shower once a day. I’ve got a ticket this year so probably won’t be showering, but might take some kind of collapsable washing bowl to freshen up. I’ve definitely done tampons at Glastonbury before and been fine too, I’m just a big fan of period pants, they’ve made periods zero fuss for me and I wish they’d invented them 30 years ago 😂
  3. I’ve never taken delay tablets so can’t comment on those but my tip if you are going to be on your period over the festival would be to get some period pants. I started my period the Wednesday of the festival last year and and used Modibodi pants.. totally takes the stress out of having to deal with tampons or whatever, especially if you’ve had a few ciders 😂

I got an oxfam place on the 21st June in 2019.. it really can be last minute. Good luck everyone still trying!
  5. Various things have been in red over this countdown posts.. always the S combined with various numbers so I don’t think S5 is particularly relevant. I still think it’s a Glastonbury appearance he’s hinting at, I think the control over the announcement lies with the festival hence the lack of clarity over when it will be announced.

    Kidzfield

    Maddie Moat is great!
  7. I think it’s a pretty standard year from my perspective - a few must sees, a decent amount of other acts I’d go see and some I need to research. It just suffers from being compared to last years insanely good line up. Everyone was on tour post covid, so many of my favourite artists played, the best line up for as long as I can remember .. that was never going to happen two years in a row. I didn’t see as much of the non music stuff last year as I was so intent on catching acts I was wanted to see.. this year is back to business as usual.. more wandering, more randomness, more fun 🤩

    Site Map 2023

    It looks incredibly spacious!
  9. I also haven’t really spent any time at the temple (except years ago to bash the sweets out of a giant piñata which is one of my fav Glastonbury memories 😂) I will endeavour to put that right this year.. sunrise set at the temple. I would add to the list: - Go to Rimski’s yard or catch up with some of the Threatre field walkabouts and get involved in whatever random weirdness is going on
  10. I had a gap between 2013 and 2019 when I didn’t attend , I didn’t feel the festival was any different when I returned and it seemed the same last year. I’ll be interested to hear from the rest of our crew this year who haven’t been since 2013. Overall I think the type of people attending hasn’t changed that much.. there’s more off site campers but what kind of percentage is that? Has anyone ever seen figures, I’d be interested to know. I don’t think it’s been overrun with influencers… I just see a load of people enjoying themselves as they always have for the most part. It’s definitely not as wild as the 90s but since the super fence went up I don’t feel like there’s been a huge change.
  11. I can see a change from the 90s festivals to now but I don’t think it’s changed massively since 2013 tbh.. what do you think is different?

I got a place a few days before the 2019 festival and got the best shift pattern.. did response team on Wednesday morning (and ended up being deployed to Ped Gate A), worthy view gate overnight Thursday and Ped Gate B Saturday PM. Really enjoyed it.

    Rimskis Yard

Love Rimski’s Yard.. spent a lot of Camp Bestival just messing about at Rimski’s with my 6 and 8 year old, playing golf with umbrellas, rearranging junk sculptures and making up nonsense games with random objects.. it’s like being at mad hatters tea party.. brilliant fun.
  14. I think they’ll be on the main poster.. and Nick got confused about when that would be released. I’m still hopeful..

    woodsies

CATQ put on a great show last 2 times they’ve played, lots of staging and choreo .. some great songs.. I’ve been less into their recent stuff so I will probably give it a miss this time round. But I think they do still warrant a headline slot.

    woodsies

Woodsies looking good for me, spent a lot of time there last year and this year is shaping up the same.. I like the sound of the nighttime stuff too..
  17. Thanks Neil.. efests has been a huge part of my Glastonbury obsession for many years, always felt at home here.. it’s a really great community you’ve built. Wishing you health and happiness for the future and hope you have a great 2023 festival.
  18. Just alongside some stalls in the main drag up through the green fields, stuck to a bit of heras fence I think? A0 print with lots of detail.. it was fascinating! Would love the raw data to play around with ..
  19. I manage GIS in local government. I do flood maps but nothing coastal. I found the detailed glasto site maps they’d printed and put up in the green fields last year and had a proper map geek out with another guy who was passing and also worked in GIS.. they were beautiful maps.
  20. Missed this one first time round.. I work with maps and spatial data for my day job so would happily take on the Glastonbury map updates. I also do mapping for emergency planning so could work on the major incident plans too.

Hang in there, I missed a few oxfam places by seconds until I managed to grab one a few days before the 2019 festival..
  22. I’m looking forward to wandering round the site with my brother and the rest of my old glasto crew who haven’t been for 10 years, can’t wait to show them all the new stuff. Also looking forward to NYC Downlow as I didn’t make it in there last year because of the queues and I’m determined this time! (Also don’t have a 6am wake up to go on shift because I’m not working it this year, I can stay out!)
  23. Love this thread! I’d like to thank the girl that saw me wandering around the green fields rather spangled in the early hours at the 1999 festival and decided I needed a free hug 🤗
  24. I’ve perfected packing light over the years, I hate lugging heavy bags across site. I’ve got a 22litre lightweight trail pack and a decathlon 2XL pop up tent which I stuff various lighter things into (down jacket, mini blanket etc) and attach my sleeping bag with a bungee. Invested in a really nice thermarest which packs down tiny. I just take the walking boots I’m wearing, squishable pillow, mainly shorts to wear, travel towel, lots of small or flattenable things. I don’t take alcohol though, happy to just get that on-site.
