  1. I’ve got a fluffy pink Joe Bananas blanket that I got at one of my first festivals (97/98) and it’s come to many festivals since, though I’ve gone super lightweight now and bring a Eurostar blanket instead.

    2025 Headliners

Somehow they seem to fit epic sized crowds on Copacabana beach.. 4.2m (the world record biggest crowd for a gig) for Rod Stewart (why!?) and 1.5m for the stones. The estimated crowd for Madonna is 2m.

    2025 Headliners

True, I was forgetting about the bank stumping up loads of cash 😂 even if Glastonbury had the cash I think being able to just repeat the show exactly as she’s been doing it for 7 months is probably a big factor.

    2025 Headliners

From what I’ve read of Madonna’s celebration tour finale in Rio it’s basically “the same but with sand” so they’re going to do the floating box and all the catwalks it seems.. which might explain why she chose Rio over Glastonbury to end the tour. (Being able to pull a crowd of 2 million probably swings it a bit too). I feel like that was maybe the last chance of Madonna doing a headline Glastonbury set.. would she ever do the legends slot.. not sure I can see it..
  5. We ended up in lime kiln last year because Wicket was all family camping.. so wondering whether wicket will be back in use this year (there seemed to be so much unused space last time maybe they’ll leave a section as general camping again). Not sure I can be bothered to trek any further from Gate A.. lime kiln was perfectly fine, the view is good and neighbours were nice, liked calling in at San Remo on the way home every night.
  6. If that’s what GFL need to do to keep the ticket price down for us all then I don’t have a problem with it, it’s definitely preferable to on site presence for a lot of brands which would just feel weird.
  7. I agree, she’s really great at between song banter and she has a great voice (which I was worried about after seeing some poor quality you tube videos from gigs and festivals). I was really impressed by how much bigger and more guitar heavy the songs sound live. I can’t get my sh*t together was epic! Really can’t wait to see her again.

    Avalon 2024

Very happy to see BabyQueen, she’s one of my favourite artists atm. Though I agree it seems a weird stage for her to play.. I would’ve put her on woodsies.. Lots of others like Go Team, Toyah and Kate Nash that I might see depending on clashes.
  9. Rarely see anything on the acoustic but I’d go see the gypsy kings if there’s no other clashes..
  10. I saw lots of chasing from security up at worthy view gate on my shift there in 2019.. they caught them too.
  11. But it’s such an obvious route in, been happening for years.. surely they’d have figured out a way to stop it!? If they weren’t being strict on vehicles coming in surely that would be a breach of their license?
  12. I’m surprised there’s so much of it apparently going on. Having worked the gates for oxfam I didn’t think it was that easy to sneak in.
  13. I’m going too. Not really listened to her stuff, my friend suggested it.. so interested to see what she’s all about.

    Food Traders 2024.

Bayou better be there.. if the arancini place could return after its year off that would be appreciated.
  15. All paid up and ready for my 18th Glastonbury. Can’t wait to see Dua headlining, looking forward to having a dance to LCD Soundsystem and Justice..I finally get to see Cyndi Lauper, not seen the Breeders for years, so much to be excited about. It’s going to be amazing. 🤩
  16. Pre 2000 I used to go down to Glastonbury with a big gang who either used to jump the fence, were working there in some capacity or had blagged hospitality tickets... I always had a ticket, preferred the normal methods of entry to sneaking around the perimeter trying to find a gap or a dodgy bloke selling routes in.. a lot of them used to spend most of the weekend at the travellers field anyway, I popped out to visit occasionally but preferred to be inside the fence seeing bands. I remember the fence coming down behind the stone circle and everyone cheering. I’ve been working on gates when people have tried legging it in.. that’s always exciting 🙂
  17. Phoenix were amazing and the highlight of my festival but I wish the tent had been full. I prefer it when the pyramid doesn’t suck the life out of the rest of the festival.

    Weather v Line up

My first two Glastonbury’s were the epic mud years of 97 and 98. It was a revelation to be able to sit on the ground without a bin bag the first dry year I went to. Weather > Line up every time. I’d rather just spend a sunny year wandering the site looking for randomness than see my favourite bands in the rain.
  19. I love the first two days.. it’s all stretching out in front of you and there’s the excitement of reacquainting yourself with the site and seeing what’s new. By the time Friday rolls round I’m already feeling like times slipping away 🙃 I would repeat Wednesday and Thursday a few times before Friday hits ideally!
  20. I was hoping Ren would be there too.
  21. Lots of kids super excited about Seventeen on the instagram comments for the poster drop.
  22. Dua and possibly Coldplay for me. I love Dua, she’s going to be amazing on the pyramid.
  23. I was hoping for Pulp and Smashing Pumpkins (not sure if they had a GSH or not). Obvs Madonna too but she was always a bit of a stretch (though she is apparently doing an outdoor show in Rio in May so it isn’t the adapting the show to an outdoor stage factor that’s the problem, must be the money).
  24. I’ve been going since 97 other than 4 years between 2014 and 2019 and haven’t noticed Cyndi on the bill other than one of the festivals I missed.. so I’m over the moon to see her this year. She slightly compensates for the lack of the true icon Madonna 😂
