I think we've camped up that direction 3 times in total. We camped in the woodsies campsite area in 2014 and again 2015 (may have in fact been darble) and then literally the other side of the walkway outside the John Peel tent one year. I think the John Peel stage has now moved as well as being renamed so imagine things are quite different now to those years. Wasn't any late night stuff up that way back then after silver Hayes and beat hotel finished. As you say it's a long walk from the SE corner but I quite enjoy those hazy, meandering walks back to the tent.

They worry too much because people go on about it incessantly as can be seen in this very thread. "Why did she say this?" "She could have said that." "She could have said nothing or been less specific." "Why say it if it wasn't confirmed?" If "anyone with half a brain can see the effort they are making with gender diversity" as you say then what's the point in scrutinizing and critiquing every word she has said on the issue and giving the impression you feel let down in some way when her own hopes to have female headliners don't come to fruition

She was trying to give fans an indication of their plans for this year after not having a female headliner last year. If Madge or whoever else pulls out then she is hardly to blame, it's hardly like she was being disingenuous or trying to hide her sexism from the world. Anyone thinking she owes them some sort of explanation if only one of the headliners is female needs to give their head a wobble.

Soz, I'm getting properly frustrated with the lack of info at this stage. I was at the festival and didn't see Miley in 2019 but my cynical "not as good as it used to be" mate who has never been to the festival text me saying he watched her set live on the BBC and said it was brilliant. I thought at the time he was being sarcastic but turns out he actually did love it.

Agree that it's a bit like this at night and I go nowhere near. However, when we camped up by woodsies we spent a late morning, early afternoon in there gathering ourselves together, having a few cocktails and they let us charge our phones behind the bar. Chillout tunes and a few bloody Marys were just what the doctor ordered. Another day when it was absolutely lashing it down in 2016, 4 of us sat in one of the wee booths and went through a big bag of coders and a few spliffs and the tunes were good too.

Is that kneecap as in the Belfast band kneecap on the other stage?

Pretty sure our group was in there for 10-15 mins in 2016 in the mud giving it absolutely stacks.

I thoroughly enjoyed their music in my youth in that run of albums dookie, nimrod, warning and insomniac. Not sure in what order. Wouldn't say they were considered middle of the road at that time although middle aged may better fit the bill.
