  1. Generally speaking I prefer stripped back acoustic guitar and vocals to a big electric rig
  2. Yeah I traditionally go the bootlegs for a bit of Sunday afternoon macaroni and cheese and a bit of a lift. Headlining seems weird

Really hope that's not the case. Missed last year but was there in 2022 and had 3 young kids with me so thought I might be a bit more sensitive to and aware of these types being around but don't recall seeing them more than once or twice

Must get on this over the weekend. Absolutely loving Capricorn. Dead simple but dead good.

    2024 Moments

A very quick list off top of my head. Probably won't be at all of them. Shania - Man I feel like a woman Yard Act - 100% endurance LCDS - all my friends Coldplay - fix you Paul Heaton - numerous Kiwanuka - solid ground The streets - dry your eyes/ blinded by the lights Black pumas - colours Brittany Howard - short and sweet (or ideally if she did you'll never walk alone with Chris Martin a la the grammies) Orbital - Belfast Mary wallopers - building up and tearing England down Little Simz - two worlds apart
  6. That's the right answer!
  7. Wonder how @deebeedoobee's astronaut, ram jam jar, well, pyramid stage etc are holding up with all this rain.
  8. Had a good listen to black pumas and enjoyed. Also really like Brittany Howards first album but not so much her latest effort. Went back and had a good listen to Alabama shakes too this weekend while painting. Had always been on my radar as something I liked but had never properly listened to. Absolutely brilliant.

If she was to appear any inkling as to where it might be? I'm pretty much oblivious to the size of artists.

Only just this week discovered hurray for the riffraff and absolutely loving almost everything I've heard. Any chance of an appearance at the big G?
  12. I much preferred it in the days when you were much more likely to have your tent robbed and there was nothing on after the main stages finished
  13. Will be my tenth festival this year. Got engaged at Glastonbury, married in a hand fasting ceremony at glastonbury, youngest child was conceived at Glastonbury. Brought the kids in 2022 for the first time and they will be going with us again this year along with my in-laws and another couple we used to go with years ago and their kids. I absolutely love the place. Lineups are a bit of a bonus for me these days rather than a key component and I'm sure there will be one or two things every day I want to see which is perfect. I'm more concerned that weather akin to 2016 would make navigating the site with 3 kids for 5 days a nightmare. But there's no chance it's going to rain.
  14. I missed last year and as I normally do after missing one, I feel a fair bit more excited than when I've been several years consecutively. I'm still a bit disappointed with the lineup but simultaneously excited for my in laws who have never been before. In my experience my excitement will just grow from here on in.
  15. I think it's just cos the lineup so far is a bit pish tbh
  16. When are the group driving from Wales arriving at the site? We did the drive from Wales last year but did it on the Tuesday and then I joined the queue overnight. How free you are to choose which car parks and gate to head for will largely depend on when you are arriving. Oops sorry just seen your first post said 1pm Wednesday. I reckon you'd need to give the site a pretty wide berth at that time if you want to approach from a certain angle.

The very nature of the words "interesting" and "exciting" and their inherent subjectivity make the assertion that she is DEFINITELY the most interesting and exciting headliner a complete nonsense.
  18. It's a hard balance to strike. Wednesdays and Thursdays are great for getting in and adjusting before everything kicks off properly. Sometimes it can take me 12-24hrs to slow down due to the excitement, normally having worked right up until Tuesday, then the mad rush of having to pack, get organized and travelling from Ireland. I love traditionally heading straight to the park after my first cider immediately upon getting pitched and then milling around, refamiliarising myself with the site and any changes etc. on Thursday. Sometimes I do want there to be a bit more on those nights in fairness and the prospect of crazy crowds for some of the stuff that is on doesn't inspire me. I absolutely love that slightly daunting feeling of excitement waking up on Friday morning in the tent after 2 days of drinking and generally having a great time and realizing it hasn't even really started yet. If everything kicked off for real on Thursday rather than Friday and there were 4 full days across all stages I think it might be too much for me. As much as I am resigned to having to go home the next day come Sunday, I am nearly always ready for it when it comes. Closing the site on Wednesday and just opening on Thursday is the worst idea of the lot.
  19. The weather was never a problem for me in the past. I really enjoyed 2016, in fact I reckon it was better than 2019 on balance. Having said that, with being older now and bringing 3 kids between 11 and 4 years old, if the weather was like 2016 again I think it would probably ruin the experience. Just having to get them round the site in that level of mud, try to stop them getting covered in mud every 5 mins, being unable to sit on the grass comfortably, the inevitable complaining etc etc might break me. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad but with not having a whole lot for me lineup wise I can imagine there being a possibility that it just would not be an enjoyable experience. There's no chance of that without kids.

Brilliant, thanks for this. Two of the key things I think they could be doing better are having a bit more on Thursdays and thus avoiding overcrowding at what few things are on and also spreading the late night stuff round the festival more again to avoid the worst overcrowding in the SE corner which for many is ruining it.

Sorry I was wondering how far down the list of stages the lack of license extends. Is it just the big 5 on the poster but all other stages can have stuff on? Don't recall ever seeing stages on the first lineup poster. To then have "and..." and just list a few acts on the next line and then say "plus so much more" seems bizarre. Maybe that list are the Thursday headliners across a few smaller stages. Maybe I'm just trying to make sense of something and stretching

Does "major" end after the ones on the poster?

Massively over-egging the pudding from sister bliss then in that nobody has ever claimed to have headlined a Thursday before and they aren't even the first live band to do the thing that isn't a thing

Yeah seems like Thursday headliners as a new concept here. Suggesting to me that there's more planned for Thursday nights. Anyone know which stages can open Thursday?
