Brassic is back today 🙌
Honestly can't think of a show that makes me laugh so much in recent years. Joe Gilgun is a treasure. Just watched the first ep and it's brilliant as ever - probably going to get through the rest before the week is over.
Just came here to post this. Can’t wait to get stuck in absolutely loved the first 2 series

1. The Vaccines - Back in Love City
2. Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
3. Amyl and the Sniffers - Comfort to Me
-
New Parcels tune out today

1. Jungle - Loving in Stereo
2. The Killers - Pressure Machine
3. Lorde - Solar Power
Found this month tough to pick out the top 3, had a shortlist of 6 to pick from also including Chvrches, Turnstile and Jade Bird. Decent month

The set closer of Don't Delete the Kisses with Ellie sat on the stage and the crowd being enraptured, wow. Wish Glasto would take a punt on them to headline the Friday of 2022.
I saw the setlist before seeing the highlights and didn’t think that would work as a closer, giant peach always works so well but going from that into don’t delete the kisses was a great way to close. Really showcasing their versatility with that set. Would love to see them get a decent slot, I think sub pyramid or headline other

Just watched their Reading set on iplayer and I’m gutted their tour dates didn’t work for me. So so good, really thought play the greatest hits came across well live too. Not sure why Ellie didn’t play the keys for last man on Earth, cracking set though and will be top of my list to see if they’re at the farm 2022

I went yesterday and picked little simz as the one act I wanted to see the whole set, and was then happy to just see parts of other sets due to the overlaps in scheduling. Second time seeing Jamie xx and second time feeling indifferent about it, no great staging or lighting and a lot of the music just merges into one.
Overall really enjoyed the day, also Red Stripe at £5.80 for a 440ml can was painful but less painful than drinking carlsberg all day like other fests

Quite liked it on first listen, feel like it will be a grower too. I like when artists can take different directions in their sound and pull it off and that's the case here, but the disposable nature of music listening these days means I think a lot of fans of Melodrama will listen once and give up on this one.

I take it there’s no physical tickets for this? I assume it’ll all be sent out via email?
I got an email last week from AXS saying tickets were delivered to my account, then you can access them by downloading AXS app

Made a last minute decision yesterday morning to book Foals in Swansea and travel down for the day. The venue at singleton park worked well being on a slope so good views from everywhere and the sound was spot on.
Foals were incredible, such a good atmosphere with it being most people’s (I assume) first gig in 18 months. Finished the main set with 10 minute long Neptune worked really well followed by a heavy encore. Also treated us to a new one - I believe called Novo which felt like a nice continuation of their part 2 album sound - and said there’s plenty more where that came from. Hopefully means more new music before their postponed UK tour next spring!

Wouldnt be surprised to see Jungle appearing with a new album out today and supporting Billie Eilish on her June tour in UK. No idea where they would play though, maybe Park headline or Other sub or 3rd on Pyramid.

1. Arthhur - Occult Fractures
2. Dave - We're All Alone In This Together
3. Tigercub - As Blue As Indigo
-
Couple of new ones on my radar today, very different but both great. Amyl and the Sniffers doing what they do best, and a bit more of an upbeat one from Jungle

2 new tunes from Dry Cleaning out today, Bug Eggs and Tony Speaks. One of my favourite new band discoveries of this year

The new Rick and Morty episode was shockingly bad, it's like they focussed on the dumb gross humour without the sci-fi concepts and nihilist philosophy which I enjoy from the show. It's been a really good season so far so that episode is really standing out as poor.

Where are you watching these? Big fan of Rick and Morty but usually have to wait for it to be released on Netflix!

I know there’s a few Spector fans on this forum and they’ve dropped a new tune today, co-written with Jack Kaye of The Magic Gang

Really hate that camera angle they now use for penalties!
I actually really prefer the new angle! Makes the goal look a lot smaller and you see exactly where the pen goes, I feel the pitch side angle they used to use could be deceiving for some pens
